Wow, thanks for the video. I know exactly where this is, my dad was a hoisting engineer at this place. We used to spend the summers up there with him and go home on weekends. Had a permanent home in the northern part of state. This was during the late 60s and early 70s. My brother and I were little kids back then. The school house was standing in good condition but closed before we lived there. We lived in a couple of the houses. Everything there was owned by the mine company. The tarantula spider is all over this area in the warmer months. Even had one as a pet during that time. Be careful when visiting this place, back when we were there we used to go exploring and one time my leg went thru the ground into a sewer tank. This was around the shower room. I'd say the name but it's the same as what they mined from it. Pretty cool place. There was a true ghost town down the road south of there. Had a old jail house and many buildings. It was the biggest town in the state at one time. During the early 70s hippies used it as a place to live. Took me back to a glorious time, going to work with dad. Thank you very much. Love all your videos. I was born at a mining camp and started school at one as well. I was hoping to see this place as one of your videos. Jets still flying above. We used to watch them bomb targets to the north of main entrance. Loved this place. Keep up the good work and stay safe.
if i can make a suggestion, do some research on the places you visit. Gives us a backstory, what happened with the mine? What were they mining? how many people lived there? When did it close down? Why did they leave so much stuff? how long has it been empty? looking at the stuff is ok. but when there is no other context, and no information it hurts the overall presentation. Not criticizing here just making a suggestion. It would make the videos much more entertaining if we knew what was going on.
I love these sounds you added in! They made the area feel so precious and loved. ...and I realize this was posted long long ago, but since I'm just now binge watching everything on your channel...🤷
Explore With Us Some kind of merry go round thing...it's been so long but as a kid we had something similar in the neighborhood park I played in. Metal swings (fun sliding down in sunny weather😂) and slides and a lot of swimming pools were deeper then.
Yeah, I don't think the slide was build there. It looks just like the slide we had at the elementary school I went to back in the 1960s. That was all pretty standard playground equipment back in the 50s/60s. It was kind of dangerous. I remember kids getting hurt on it. But we all survived it. LOL.
You and your daughter are my favorite explorer! And I love how you put the water sounds to the swimming pool and water fountain. My favorite was when the old truck started up that was great. You definitely made my day.
I find it so fascinating that a small little town out in nowhere land would have a pool that well put together and well built. It looks like one you'd see now in hotel or a condo almost
Exactly what caught me by surprise too. I never expected to find a swimming pool way out there. I wish I could find some photos of when the place was still a functioning town.
This is what Playground Equipment looked like when I was a kid. Slides and swingsets w/slide &teeter totter were built very big and high. Swings went super High.
Your explorations are cool and different. I'm obsessed by the gold rush era so I love your vids. The best out there by a landslide. Happy exploring and stay safe man!
ooh the extra sounds kinda drove me crazy cause I kept checking other tabs thinking I had another video going and I was trying to figure out which one it was, but it was your video hahaha. =(
Merry go round, wow that's old!!!!! That slide is exactly like one in Williamston Park in Williamston, SC a long time ago. It isn't there anymore but it looks identical to this one!!! Good vlog!!!
I can't find Part 2??? Thanks for the Cool Video, Guy's!! I've Always Loved Going Thru Abandoned Places of All Kinds!! Now, following Ya'll's Adventures, I Can Live Vicariously through Ya'll!! Stay Safe!!! 😊👍☮
love this video.. so cool.. except for the spider part (personal issue ..lol stil i hope you helped the spider) the rest is awesome.. love the back ground sound of the water and the people having fun.. and that play ground..just awesome..its hard to imagine that this place once was alive with kids and parents.. sort of reminded me of the school days out in the hot sun.. thank you for sharing
gosh I love your videos!!.. im working backwards now and on a splurge of your vids!.. I love the desolit place of NV and own a very huge parcel up in NE NV...my son got me a gopro session and hope to start doing vids even though im disabled and have to get around with a cane..your vids give me motivation..thank you!
christine gallardo, thank you so much for the kind comment, and it warms my heart knowing my videos motivate you to get out and explore, even though you're disabled. If you do start making videos, please let me know and I will be the first to subscribe to your channel. I would LOVE to see your content. 🙂
Explore With Us thank you so much!!.. I have been watching your videos for so long... and every nee video you release I drop everything and put them on. I definitely will keep ya posted! :) hoping to get out and up to NV in a few weeks!
#ChristineGallardo - Have you started your You Tube channel? If so, I'd like to subscribe and check out your vid's. My husband is disabled also and cannot get out to do these things, I know he'd love too, but if he sees someone else disabled out and about doing stuff like this, maybe it will lift his spirits and give him what he needs to get out there also. He's been kinda down since he hurt his back (so badly he has to use a wheelchair) and then has had 3 heart attacks also ): All before the age of 55 yrs old. I wish you well in whatever you do...as I tell my husband..remember this, your not handicapped, your handicapable (: Take care and Best Wishes to you always.
when you first said swimming pool, I was like what?? and the first thing that came to my mind was what I read some time ago about a swimming pool that is in the dessert.
It could be that the town died because the water source went away. If the well(s) dry up and don't replenish, that will pretty much kill the town. Amazing that there was enough water at one time to have a pool that big. Reminds me of some of the remnants of old long-gone resorts and such that can be seen out in the deserts in SoCal, with just an old sign or two and unnatural rows of planted palm trees growing where something manmade once was.
I would Love to Know more about this place. A large swimming pool out in nowhwere? Could it be maybe where someone came out to Practice their swimming skills?
Don't see any irrigation equipment - how did they fill up and maintain a pool out here?? Arachnophobia and the Hills Have Eyes all in one. Was this an old flight base or army base I wonder? Brilliant video.
Most likely a well provided the water. Something interesting about Nevada is that it's rich in water, but it's all underground. Thank you for the comment. :-)
+kardro1 Both the swimming pool and playground were so unexpected. I wish I had my drone so I could have shown how remote this place is. It's so far away from the nearest town, a small town. It's about 2 hours away from the nearest small town.
lol.. Ikr? I saw those and thought "Ah, that's my home state for ya... gotta love Nevada"..lol. I used to play in the desert all the time as a kid, (I would see these things often, although not as big as the ones in this video..but close enough) it was a lot of fun then, mostly because when I was a kid living in Las Vegas, there was nothing fun for kids (talking 1970's here) except to go down on the strip to Circus-Circus and watch the acts that they performed above your head, and play video games (which is what I did while my parents gambled...lol). I love seeing these video's, they take me back to a time I had all but forgotten about. Thank You EWU for the time travel..and who says there's no such thing as time travel? lol.
Explore With Us....just seeing this one for the first time, what happened with the spider..i do hope you helped him out ..have watched all videos but a couple i must have missed from early days...good stuff
If y'all ever want to go into wilderness country in the Sierra's on horseback let me know. My dad goes all the time & there's places that nones been in a long time untouched.
WOW that's an awesome looking swimming pool and I love your swimming sound effects as we look at it. They made sure they had some fun. But 01:45 That spider is gross. Huge. Massive - and I been freaking out the spiders in our house which I thought were big. Well they're tiny in comparison. Was that spider dead? Or was it a toy. Hope it was a toy. Don't want to imagine spiders exist that are that big. NO !! They even had a drink fountain by the pool. Well cool. Bet seeing that made you wish it worked. Shikes 02:12 there's another gross looking spider. YIKES get me out of here lol. Gosh it's horrid. It was covered in bugs, one of you said. & Then you say, maybe we should help him out. How would you do that? Aren't they poisonous? & more great sound effects for the old truck. But it was not going to start. Great video. Thanks.

Love your videos and have subscribed to your channel. Thank you for keeping these historic locations a secret because it is a shame that vandals, tweakers and scrappers will destroy these places and steal the equipment. Luckily this mining camp is fenced off and is behind locked gates otherwise this place would have been looted by now. Since you were able to drive your vehicle up to the camp past the gate, it is very likely that you had permission to tour this site. Keep up the great work exploring and please keep the videos coming.
Why didn’t you slide down the slide? I would have just went for it. If it was save enough to climb, then it should have been save to slide down right? Great place.
SOme of those old vehicles and old work trucks in your other videos looks pretty good. Some of them look like they are from the 1950's. Nice enough shape to rebuild if somebody were to remove them. I suppose that is unethical though?

my guess - when the company decides to shut down an operation - the residents are the last to know - and the news comes suddenly
Loved the sound effects!!!
I miss these videos. Loved this channel for them.
Congrats on all the success though.
Yes me too 😢
I love these sounds you added in! They made the area feel so precious and loved. ...and I realize this was posted long long ago, but since I'm just now binge watching everything on your channel...🤷

TheTexasTodd like that metal slide. You would burn your legs going down. The good old days.
Now all kids want are safe spaces :(
You and your daughter are my favorite explorer! And I love how you put the water sounds to the swimming pool and water fountain. My favorite was when the old truck started up that was great. You definitely made my day.

Wow, I can't believe you got that old truck to fire up!
LOL. :-)
Wow!, I wonder what happened to that community!?!... That was apparently the local public pool, quite an elaborate one too!....
This is what Playground Equipment looked like when I was a kid. Slides and swingsets w/slide &teeter totter were built very big and high. Swings went super High.
LOL Me too!
We better be careful... We are Dating Our Selves... LOL!!
Good start - going for #2

That slide looks like fun! Great music at beginning and end!
Truck sounds awesome to not have a motor 😂. Love the content. Actually going back and rewatching all your videos!! ❤❤
Those damn Spiders! No way could I handle living there
The "What do you call this" is a Merry-Go-Round.
Teresa Parsons, Thank you for the info. :-)
Holy cow I have never seen a diving board that is literally just...a wood board. That’s pretty neat (and splintery!)
Merry go round, wow that's old!!!!!

I love this video, especially the sound effects.

There are very big spiders in the US, here in Spain are half size xD, fortunately I think. Greetings to all Americans
when you first said swimming pool, I was like what?? and the first thing that came to my mind was what I read some time ago about a swimming pool that is in the dessert.
Sahara I read about a pool in the desert too in death valley 😊
yeap, Ginny there is one. An sculptor or Architect, I really don't remember the reason why he did it.
It could be that the town died because the water source went away. If the well(s) dry up and don't replenish, that will pretty much kill the town. Great Work!!
I'm surprised that the pool hasn't become a skate spot. Skaters will go to any length to ride an empty pool.
I would Love to Know more about this place. A large swimming pool out in nowhwere? Could it be maybe where someone came out to Practice their swimming skills?
the pool part was kinda sad because the background sound just think of all the fun they used to hav
That's exactly what I was thinking when I was there.
Explore With Us it sucks
Agreed, must have really been something back when it was a booming town.
Explore With Us probably
Explore With Us by the way I love your vid's cause I can see cool things from yeard ago
Don't see any irrigation equipment - how did they fill up and maintain a pool out here??

oh yeah a good cleaning an we could be swimming again in no time!
The Hills Have Eyes
Those are huge Tarantulas!!! OMG!!! What state/country are you in??? In your "what do you call these"?,it's called a merry go round.
lol.. Ikr? I saw those and thought "Ah, that's my home state for ya... gotta love Nevada"..lol. Amazing!
Explore With Us....just seeing this one for the first time, what happened with the spider..i do hope you helped him out ..have watched all videos but a couple i must have missed from early days...good stuff
ruth field, Thank you. Yes, we helped the spider out of the pool. 👍
bless you, i always feel sorry for trapped animals birds etc when watching these sorts of videos
You have awesome videos
+Lynn Gordon-Miller Thank you, I really appreciate the positive feedback.
Dang dude you need a z71 or an fx4 or something more ground clearance, better off-road and causes less damage when going over rocks etc

In Britain we call them roundabouts.
+Lucretia _UK I still can't believe I couldn't remember what it was called, and I was too lazy to look them up.They were in very good of shape considering how long it has been sitting in the elements.
It's a Merry-Go-Round.
That's weird that there's still an abandoned, very old, car there.
That round thing is called a merry go round 😜
+Lynn Gordon-Miller LOL. :)

Big up
I know. It's sad! 😥
Thanks for abandoned swimming pool video. Fascinates me. Eerie too. 🌞
If you're going to keep going to these places, you might want to think about getting a more competent off road vehicle. That Nissan is designed for making school runs, and, shopping trips.
I know there was/is a pool in the middle of the desert here in AZ, where it's at I don't know but you can look it up. IDK if it's been destroyed it's not really a "well kept secret"
Are those power lines? I can't help but wonder how long the wire would be if that's literally in the middle of nowhere.
this might have been leftover from the savings and load debacle back in the early 90's? Developers were buying up all sorts of barren land to build on but the financial backing collapsed and developers abandoned their plans even leaving whole houses built in the middle of nowhere in arizona and new mexico.
Cool
that look like death valley, but im not sure. Saluditis from nowhere....
Did you help the poor spider? loved this whole series by the way, very interesting place.
+Karen Johansen Yes we did, thank you for watching and commenting. :)
That is good to hear, I don't like spiders normally, but even I felt sorry for it. Thank you for replying :)
+Karen Johansen LOL, I am not much of a fan of spiders either, but for some reason Tarantula's don't bother me.
+Explore With Us same here, I am more afraid of the common house spider lol
Isn't it funny how that works? I can't explain it either. :)
By any chance do you known what year that pool stopped??
A Merry go round!
The things on the spider were not flies, that is how they carry there babies, they literally carry thousands on there back!!!!!! GROSS
Cool video! I like the sound of the water and the old truck starting. Should have used the sound of kids playing in a pool.
Thank you, I couldn't find any sound affect of kids playing in the pool unfortunately.
ɷ I Havee Watcheddd Thisss Movie Leakeddd Version Hereee : - t.co/NdLgwVlw7a
Save the spiders! Put a board in the pool going out of it.
looks like this town / camp might have been connected to the grid - power poles evident.
Cool sound FX guys. Find somewhere scary and play ghost noises :) and isn't that a merry go round?
those are "merry go rounds" :)
The people probably got killed by all the spiders there.
Merry-Go-Round
I bet the tarantula just molted, when they shed their skin looks like a dead caucus of themselves 🫢
Came here after your latest video . . . 06/14/2019

What happen to part 2?
It's a merry-go-round
I think that this was a scene in con air
pikachu fan oh yeah maybe similar!
Why didn’t you slide down the slide? I would have just went for it. If it was save enough to climb, then it should have been save to slide down right? Great place.
Hey Dad, Emma needs a Jeep!
You gotta be careful man, your cars not built for that much off roading
SOme of those old vehicles and old work trucks in your other videos looks pretty good. Some of them look like they are from the 1950's. Nice enough shape to rebuild if somebody were to remove them. I suppose that is unethical though?
The spider had spider babies on it, not bugs..
I have seen that with wolf spiders, but not with desert tarantulas. I can't seem to find anything showing tarantulas carrying babies on their back.
The wolf spider is the only spider to carry its young on its back.
can you actually describe the things around the area I cannot see I'm blind
austin hollinger music how's you type this?
are you going to.post part 2
All the parts have been posted, hmm, should be a playlist on here somewhere. I will try to find it. :-)
me imagino la cantidad de kids que jugaron en ese sitio, y hoy esta abandoned.
gavi durasno woow eso es spanglish?
Wheres part 2
Where would you get the water for the pool?
merry go round/ carousel
Seriously, you should get sponsored by Nissan.
Tarantula's??????????😯😯😯😯
That's called a Mary go round
where is that? i wanna go there
Water water everywhere and not a drop to drink. It looks hot and dry.
why don't you give us town names??!!
looks like an old cult town, or old indiane reservation
You need a 4x4
anyone say a-bomb test site?
