A loss, but how lucky he was here for 91 years and gave us so many great films of his to treasure. My first crush that never went away, thank you Christopher, a life well lived and shared with all of us.

Julie Andrews carries Christopher Plummer in this interview. She is so kind, mindful of her questions, lets him talk about himself which she knows he does best, and flatters him. Somewhere in her youth or childhood, Julie learned respect and manners and shows the ultimate in class. Not to mention having a voice like an angel, an incredible ability to act, a great sense of humor, and remains visually fresh and “loverly.”
The interesting thing about seeing Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer together again 40 years after the movie, is that both of them were still such vibrant and beautiful people. They could have made another love story together in 2005, and it would have been as endearing to audiences as "The Sound of Music" was, in its own way.
The way they look at each other at the end with so much love and adoration. And then Christopher pats her hand fondly as they smile at each other. 🥲🥺 One of the great duos of our time, hope I'll have a friendship like this one day. RIP Christopher Plummer, you're greatly missed. ♥️

"Actually I don't know about you but I sort of liked it." Julie admitting she enjoyed singing so close to him. I watched the movie last night and cried and here I am crying again. Such beauty, innocence, and also a profound message about love over evil. These two souls are beyond magical. I'm just in awe.

I was just saying that to my wife (which made me look this up) -- the hottest scene in the movies. Maria's look, as she realizes she is falling in love with this man, is only a few degrees removed from terror. So intense!
Just love the movie and Julie and Christopher. So much chemistry. In other clips they admit they really fell in love but didn't act on it.. You can still see that💖
I love how they softened the lights during the part of the dance & the closed in on their faces... that really set this mood of 2 people who were recognizing feelings for eachother. Whoever had that idea was brilliant!
Now this is one of the most wonderful interviews I've watched. Leave the 3rd party interviewer out and leave the stars to themselves to discuss their work. Julie & Christopher did a woderful job interviewing each other.
It’s so wonderful to hear the way these two professionals speak. Somewhat Transatlantic. So lush. They sound nothing like the way actors speak today. Such beautiful diction, elocution and articulation. This all comes from training, discipline and a great deal of study. None of this is taught anymore. Actors sound like rappers now and are full of profanities, cussing and swearing. People have become very cheap these days. This is because we are all trying to dumb everything down for the ordinary person instead of raising the ordinary person up to a finer level or way of being. Andrews & Plummer are a masterclass in class.

I understand what you're saying as their voices are beautiful and they speak really well but if everyone spoke with received pronunciation or good diction the world would be a boring place. Modern actors and actresses don't speak as well as actors of the older generations as people are more casual in modern society. I'm from the North of England and where I come from you wouldn't dare speak with a RP accent as you would be ridiculed as people would think you are snobbish and it wouldn't do to walk around thinking you were better than others. I'm from a lower middle class background as its really only the upper classes in the UK that speak RP(some middle class do). I'm proud of my regional accent and the very old dialect words (some are from Anglo-Saxon era) we use. The richness of different accents is what makes people diverse and interesting. Having good diction is important if working as an actor, narrator, customer service etc jobs where people need to understand you clearly. But it's not essential everywhere as I find it can make a person sound robotic if they're trying too hard.

It's wonderful that they agreed to this reminiscence. Two very different actors who made the film work . . . somehow, perfectly. In its own way, The Sound of Music remains a complete masterpiece.

So sad to learn of Christopher Plummer's passing. His legacy is astounding. Love their genuine admiration & support for one another. Beautiful, classy people 💓💓
What a very nice old-fashioned family movie "The Sound of Music". I was introduced to it when I was teenager. I watched it many, many times. One time when I was watching it God asked me this question: "Would you be Mary in real life, would you marry a man with 7 children?" I was shocked to here this question. So I paused, brought all my reasoning, my thoughts together and after deep thinking I answered to God: "Yes, I would". So years passed(I was still single), 12-13 years. Guess what happened. When I was 36 years old God brought widower (2 years older then me)into my life, yes with 7 children. He proposed to me, I married him and then I remembered about this movie. I was in awe. The children were at that time 18, 17, 16, 11, 6, 4 and 5 months old baby. That was 12 years ago.
This is the best movie ever produced and will remain in history. Other films will come & go. Julie Andrews is beautiful inside & out. Christopher Plummer was incredibly handsome in his day, he still looks great.
I was about 10 the first time I saw the movie and I fell in love with him then and there. Now I’m 53 and l fall back in love with him every time I see him on screen. Such a gracious, kind and elegant gentleman! Always made me happy to see his face. ❤️
Rest In Power to Veteran Film/Television/Theater Actor and Academy Award Winner Christopher Plummer (1929-2021). Thanks for a lifetime of great performances. You will be sadly missed, Sir.
I saw the Sound of Music when it first came out. I was 8 years old. It was shown in our city for 2 years and I saw it 7 times. I watched it again the other day for the umteenth time and the Ländler scene still brings a lump to my throat. So romantic... It's sowonderful to know that both Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer loved the film as much as we do.

Saw Sound of music in the cinema when I was a child with my dad and 2 sisters. Still love it at 63. Such a brilliant film. Heart still skips a beat when they dance together. My granddaughter at 5 now watches it and dances and sings along. Visited Austria and saw the abbey and all the other places to visit. Stayed in the original Von Trapp house and it was amazing. A life time dream. Lovely interview.
Christopher and Julie, you both must've done something good, creating the Sound of Music movie together. The first movie my mother took me and my sister to at the age of 15. I was so impressed and overwhelmed! Everything was so perfect, and right, for the time in which it was made, the precision, and charm of Julie's naughtiness mixed with innocence, Christopher's strictness, and traditional style, but so warm when he sang "Edelweiss". I watch the movie almost every year, and I never stop crying when Edelweiss begins. 🙏🌼
"Oh, come on Chris" Thry are both so self depracating and humble and sharing memories. There's such a genuine chemistry that this interview only works however many years on, as opposed to them having to awkwardly "reconcile after however many years", not having stayed friends and have had that chemistry that spans time and life changes etc.. :) 💕
I’ve seen this beautiful movie 10 times. And yet I haven’t seen this retrospective until now. This puts a warm feeling that Julie and Christopher stayed friends all these years. RIP Captain!
😊”Something good” was a brilliant piece, of lovely music score, brilliantly performed. Thank you both of you, bless The composer, the musicians, the film team.
Both Julie and Christopher will always stay in my heart, because of their roles in the sound of Music. I was very distraught to learn of Christopher Plumber's Death. He shall be Remembered for ever. May God bless him.

She’s supposed to be a right cow in real life to work with.....
@@historicalfashionpassion she isn’t lmao where did you hear that crap
@@colonyofrats4193 .....oh really?....interesting, thanks for that.....I’d read it in a news article that someone had written oh probably 30 years ago, when she was in her prime as my Dad adored her and her voice, she is so talented....but she was supposed to be very difficult to work with as she’s a prima Donna....as most of them are, and she speaks to people terribly, swearing and everything.....so I’m pleased to hear from you that they got that wrong......have you worked with her then?
40 years and they were still beautiful and charming ! She was the heart and the soul of the movie, he added the salt and pepper.
And the children added something else
Their chemistry is so beautiful.
It's wonderful that they agreed to this reminiscence. Two very different actors who made the film work . . . somehow, perfectly. In its own way, The Sound of Music remains a complete masterpiece.
Love The Sound of Music since child and watched it thousands times.. We'll miss you Christopher Plummer, rest in peace. This is heart breaking ㅠㅠ
It’s a wonderful warm feeling to listen to them remember. Such mutual respect, individual dignity, true artistry.... a long lost art.
Hi Anna, how are you doing. I'm Thomas from Virginia. I hope you are doing well and safe? I want a new friend and I saw your pic here. Hope you don't mind my friendship.
I used to watch the Sound of Music in the middle of the night when going through hard times. It really helped me !!
So sad to learn of Christopher Plummer's passing. His legacy is astounding. Love their genuine admiration & support for one another. Beautiful, classy people 💓💓
Yes! Christopher so right. I do not believe any filmmaker has ever topped that majestic opening scene just Julie, the Alps and the glorious music.
This movie is timeless, definitely!
One glorious word in the English language
Rest in Peace Christopher Plummer. You and Julie Andrews showed the world that dreams really can come true.
Irreplaceable human being - a genial gentleman the likes of whom, we should all aspire to emulate RIP
I feel there will never be another movie like this. The favorite of my mom and dad and me growing up. Still one of my favorites.
In general I dislike musicals. THIS was an exception for me. I've seen it many times.
That's awesome, it's wonderful when God ( Holy Spirit) speaks to us, Blessings
Sounds like you’re very happy after so many years!

The two actors who impressed most viewers across the world. The superb movie for all
Love these two. They still create magic after all these years!
This is the best movie ever produced and will remain in history. Other films will come & go. Julie Andrews is beautiful inside & out. Christopher Plummer was incredibly handsome in his day, he still looks great.
Gorgeous man
Hard to find an interview with two such major stars that packs so much insight about the movie-making process, while keeping things effervescent.
Christopher Plummer still has that nice lovely smile
Such a handsome man 💕🕊️🙂
“I dance like a ghastly cripple..but I mean when you get paid yknow” HAHAHAHA GEN Z HUMOR STARTED WITH HIM. SO AHEAD OF HIS TIME
I will miss his presence in this world.
They must have fallen in love with eachother a little bit during the making of this film. Absolute classic.
These two made this film what it was and still is today.
RIP Christopher Plummer 🙏
I loved the chemistry and beautiful onscreen romance with these two. So lovely. And so sad that he has passed.
Oh arent they just wonderful together? Beautiful. Oh julie my heart truly goes out to her having lost such a close friend and colleague. RIP Christopher Plummer bless your homeland forever ❤
Hi Jecka, how are you doing. I'm Thomas from Virginia. I hope you are doing well and safe? I want a new friend and I saw your pic here. Hope you don't mind my friendship.
Christopher Plummer was so handsome. He still looks pretty good in this video too, lol.
This is the most beautiful reminiscence I've ever seen.
Two of my acting heroes. Christopher Plummer will always be one of the finest actors I've ever seen on stage and screen. Beautiful soul inside and out. xx
Hi Karen, how are you doing. I'm Thomas from Virginia. I hope you are doing well and safe? I want a new friend and I saw your pic here. Hope you don't mind my friendship.
Christopher Plummer is so charming all through out his life
RIP Christopher Plummer, such a talented man.
What an amazing pair. Their performance will always be loved by so many.
My family actually owned the Sound of Music Soundtrack album--on vinyl! I wore it out!
I had it, too.
I still have mine.
I could listen to,them talk all,day
Christopher and Julie, you both must've done something good, creating the Sound of Music movie together.
Me too
This is one move that should come back to the cinema.
I’m the US they do that every once in a while. I managed to see in on a movie screen in London last year. It was magnificent!
Christopher plummer is a great actor I always loved the sound of music a great classic
Julie Andrews looked like a vision in the movie.
My favorite movie and my first love, Chris Plummer. He was gorgeous. I walked down the aisle to "I must of done something good" over 30 years ago.....
Boys.. we are getting old.... one by one passes away............ RIP !
I’ve seen this beautiful movie 10 times. And yet I haven’t seen this retrospective until now. This puts a warm feeling that Julie and Christopher stayed friends all these years. RIP Captain!
Julie Andrews is simply splended....
Wonderful actor! Such chemistry between Mr. Plummer and Ms. Andrews!
Hi Anthony, I'm Maria from California. How are you doing today. I hope you are doing well and safe? I want a new friend and I saw your pic here. Please can we be friends if you don't mind.
Watching the movie tonight in honor of him. RIP my captain ❤️❤️❤️
My fave childhood movie, until this day I'm 45 it still gets me every time I watch it around christmas time!!!! Until this day it's my all time favorite and it brings me to my wonderful childhood years !!😃❤
I watch the movie every other holiday season
I thank the Lord that in his last years, Chris Plummer's attitude towards the film changed. His portrayal of Georg was the defining performance of his career.
And to think my first glimpses of his talent came from An American Tail and narrating the Madeline series
I still prefer his extraordinary performance as Atahualpa because he was playing someone of a completely different culture. Also, what a body!!
I am just in awe of Julie Andrews...Meeting her would be a dream she is just amazing!
Aw. He is still handsome as an old man! I love the romance in this film! Julie Andrews we have loved watching your films over the years. ❤️
One of my favorite movies😊
I was born in 1962 so I was between toddler and preschooler when my parents took me to the theater to see this movie. My mom said I was mesmerized the entire time. I’ve loved musicals every since. Thanks Mom.
