I have absolutely loved her voice my entire life. No matter what your age - a wonderful movie. Incredible performances of an incredible Rogers & Hammerstein masterpiece.
I completely agree! If I ever met her in person I would have to be in a tux or something SUPER fancy. I would never meet her in jean and a T-shirt . . . I would feel so awkward. Haha.
My Mum knew Julie well, Mum passed at 87 on 5th May, 2016. Her Dad, my late Granddad Phil Robertson, used to write music scores for his protege' Julie Andrews, in Manchester. He was a celebrated composer way back then, lost his 3 older brothers in WW1 in France, he was too young to go to war. I have seen SOM more than 200 times, whenever I am sad or down, I put this wonderful film on, we have every re-issue ever made since the VHS tapes of old. My wife says "Not Again".... I loved Liesl / Charmian. I was only 8 years old in 1965 when we went to see the film at The Adelphi Theatre in Slough (Greater London). Julie was so beautiful, but Charmian was forever my heartthrob! Was devastated when she passed at such a young age....

Great to see the cast together again. It's too bad that Christopher Plummer couldn't be with them. Julie Andrews is such a classy woman. "Actress Heather Menzies sadly died at the age of 68 on Christmas Eve after her short battle with cancer. The star, best known for playing Louisa Von Trapp in the award-winning film The Sound of Music, was recently diagnosed with cancer, according to her son Ryan Urich. He told our sister-site Variety that his mom passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends. He added, “She was an actress, a ballerina and loved living her life to the fullest. She was not in any pain but, nearly four weeks after her diagnosis of terminal brain cancer, she had enough and took her last breath on this earth at 7:22 pm.” "Heather married actor Robert Urich in 1975, and together they adopted three children: Ryan, Emily, and Allison. Robert was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer in July 1996 that attacks soft tissue. He died in 2002 and Heather dedicated the rest of her life to working with cancer patients and creating the Robert Urich Foundation to raise money for cancer research." RIP Heather Menzies...

Today we lost another cast of the amazing sound of music, RIP to all the lost one.
This movie was my Best Grandma's Favorite of all time!! She would watch it at least twice a month if not more... she's been gone for 13 yrs and she was my best friend. My grandma would try to sing and hum the song Edelweiss and I truly Love the song and I'm glad they sang it again.. it's a lovely song!
Julie Andrews has always been classy and watching her in other movies like Victor/Victoria and the wonderful in The Princess Diaries 1 and 2!! What a beautiful Queen she would make!! Cheers and Sweet Blessings to You Julie Andrews!!
A wonderful film, never to be forgotten, like the cast. wonderful songs. Bless them all.
Look at that grace and elegance that Julie exudes.
This is my 1st old movie i watched back in Elementary school days.. brings good ole memories
The most beautiful film I've seen in my life. Be blessed, all of them, those who are here and those who, perhaps, are not. Unique, Julie Andrews. I adored her as a child, and I'll always do. From Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Oh what a beautiful 40th reunion.
She was not in any pain but, nearly four weeks after her diagnosis of terminal brain cancer, she had enough and took her last breath on this earth at 7:22 pm.”
"Heather married actor Robert Urich in 1975, and together they adopted three children: Ryan, Emily, and Allison. Robert was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer in July 1996 that attacks soft tissue. He died in 2002 and Heather dedicated the rest of her life to working with cancer patients and creating the Robert Urich Foundation to raise money for cancer research."
RIP Heather Menzies...

I've just been on a Sound of Music tour starting in Berchtesgaden and going into Salzurg to see filming locations. It was amazing!
Hello how are you doing
Wow, I bet it was. Seeing where the Acting Vontrapps lived & how the actual Vontrapps lived were 2 different ways of life, or so I've heard?
Julie Andrews is my queen! What a gorgeous lady :)
"The Sound Of Music"..the Best Movie that will remain in my heart forever..💖💖💖
One of the very best movie ever. Iwatch dis movie several times. From Secondary High Sch. up to College. So great.
Sounds strange, but I am so happy the cast of main characters are all alive and well. This was one of the songs we did during high graduation ceremonies. I love the song, the movie and Ms. Andrews. Beautiful, sad and moving!!
boomerang905, unfortunately, two members of the cast are now gone to the great beyond.
