Hello Tudor. Really enjoying your channel. Just picked up a Nikon Z f about a month ago with the 40mm kit. I’m blown away at how capable this setup is. I’ve used it for everything from daily documenting, friend pictures, studio work (just last night) and even sports (tennis). It’s been fantastic, Not enough to switch me from Canon for my paid work but it has become my daily driver. I also have the 28mm 2.8 SE and 75mm F2 TTArtisans and I’ve got a seriously well rounded kit for a daily driver.
@@amermeleitor I've always been a first party lens user (just never had an interest in 3rd party lenses). The TTArtisans on the Nikon Z f has completely opened my eyes on how much great glass is out there. And yes. I agree. I can't wait till Canon opens up more and more. From a business standpoint, I totally get it that they want all the spoils here at the beginning of this new mount. They put in all the money on development and design etc...I get it.... But man, there is some seriously cool glass out there to be had on the RF mount. One day...hopefully.
It should be a value, the thing is all plastic, even the lens mount. Nikon took one of it's cheapest lens, changed the outside a little, put on a silver ring that does nothing and called it a special edition. Nikon ZF is a well designed retro style camera, i have one in my camera collection but the best designed lens for the camera are the manual focus Voightlander prime lens , If Nikon is not willing to make a proper lens for this camera , they should allow Sigma to provide the i-Series lens in a Z mount.
Frankly the nikkor 40mm is probably one of the best value lenses on the planet. It's also ultra light which is a bonus with the ZF being a little bit of a fatty.
The ZF is superb! But you need a better lens. The 50mm 1.8 is not much larger and much much better! Otherwise the 26mm 2.8 Z or 35mm 1.8 or 1.4 Z. MF: Voigtländer 40mm 1.2 Z or 75mm 1.5 Z.
Grrr! I guess I'm going to have to pull the trigger on this camera. I have the very nice Voightlander 40mm f/2 in Nikon F-mount (the big one that looks like a real Nikkor) and wonder how good the adapter is for mounting it on the Z camera. I like solid metal and glass and the rendering of the Voightlander is fantastic, so I'll probably use it.
I went from Fuji to the zf. Absolutely no regrets and surprisingly I don’t miss the Fuji film sims. I actually love the colors of the zf jpeg’s and the b&w is more pleasing to me than acros
@@TheTomklu Yes, in my videos you don't see one of the best pictures from a RUclipsr that is reviewing cameras, you see just gear, charts, and leaf tests 🤣
Nikon Z f is very good. For the moment I'm very happy with my move because the results are showing me I did right. But don't rush it if you aren't sure.
For street photography, I don't think you need the sharpest lens. I have an X-T5 and a couple of X-T3 bodies that I use just for street photos, and I am hoping the upcoming firmware will at least give the X-T5 better auto focus. If not, I might try the ZF. I will consider the Z6 III as well. If Nikon had a camera around the same size as the ZF or Z6 III with a tilt screen, I would not hesitate to move away from Fujifilm. The Z8 is nice but too big for my purposes.
I think I’ve finally given in. Will hold out one more week to see if there will be any Black Friday discounts. For about a month I’ve been debating between ZF or a7cII as a replacement for my a6700 and x100vi. The lack of real mechanical shutter is what is preventing me from going right for the Sony. Thanks for the consistent uploads recently!
Here in the UK a Nikon Zf and 40mm is £1949. I do not call that "best value" for such a set up. It might be a very nice set up and possibly "the best", but come on "value". There are better value FF options available from Nikon itself, Sony and Panasonic. If I really wanted to shoot street photography with a fast 40mm ish lens (you don't need the speed for street), I would consider buying a film rangefinder such as Olympus 35 SP, Yashica GS or Minolta Hi Matic for £100 to £200 pounds. Leaving at least £1750 for film and processing (even in today's costly film environment that's a lot of film), and the B&W at least images will be better than any digital ones from a colour sensor.
Z50 ii. You know you want one... then later you can get a Nikon ff of your choice. Or keep your Fuji and get their medium format of choice. I have a Fuji Xe2s in pristine condition with several auto and manual focus lenses. They are fun to experiment with but honestly if I was only going to live with one camera then the ZF Nikon would be my choice.
Nice Review; about this say on google ''The Nikon Z 40mm f/2 SE lens is designed to be dust and drip resistant, but it's not guaranteed to be weather-sealed in all conditions " i am wonderting what that mean because exept it this lens is cheap and work great
I’ve got about 1000 put aside I think I might save a little more and get a second ZF I like this camera so much in a few months since the price has come down several hundred dollars.

I would love if Canon allow third party lenses even if only primes, like TTartisan or Viltrox.

Yess.. Sigma I series is the perfect match
That is why we buy the Voigtlander 40mm f/1.2, perfection!

This guy is making me sell all my Fuji gear. I’ll keep the the X-T1 and 35mm f2
This guy is not photografer. Why do yuo litsen him? Ewvery week another gear for you to buy😅

This is what I did - I bought it at a black Friday deal in my country
What is the name of the waist level finder? It looks really cool
You can find them on eBay and Allie express I just found this on AliExpress:
a.aliexpress.com/_EuUhpot
Waiting for Limix s 40 f2. Been cheating on Fuji with LUMIX s9 your hated camera that gives me so much fun
Will they release such a lens?
You mentioned silent mechanical shutter. Ricoh leaf shutter is completely silent. How does your Nikon compare?
Almost as a leaf shutter! I have x100vi and Ricoh GR iiix 2 years+ it's the most silent mechanical shutter ever experienced.
Just about dead silent

Love my ZF :)
Thanks for the video 👌
My pleasure!
Do you still have your z5?
No, I sent it back because of the AF. If they will release a Z5 ii with the new Af and a tilt screen...🤯
If you shoot raw, Nikon ZF. But if you like shooting JPEG there is no better option than Fujifilm. Simple as that.

Afaik, apart from actual underwater cameras, pretty much no camera in existence gives you a weather-proof guarantee.
I’ve got about 1000 put aside I think I might save a little more and get a second ZF I like this camera so much in a few months since the price has come down several hundred dollars.
Not a word about the Fuji X-Pro 3? ☺
Fujifilm please give me a 27mm f1.8 wr compact as OM 20MM premium lens and will talk 😁
@@Tudor_Mateescu lol. But you have a fantastic manual lens, Voigtlander 27mm, that you know very well 😎
I wonder how much Nikon are paying you… 🤔
In gold 🪙
