    I like the idea of adding shallots and red chillies. I also like adding "hing" - asafoetida in tempering.

      Thank you. It does enhance the flavor a lot. I add hing sometimes but was trying to keep it as authentic as possible a la Sarvana Bhavan

    Very popular chutney of South India. Loved the tip of adding red chillies and shallots. I don't add these two ingredients. Will do that next time.
