I swing in the 100-105 range. Went to a 4-5h last year and have been very happy with it. Those hybrids are scoring clubs for me so I don't mind that they spin up a bit compared to the long irons as I am a fairly low spin player anyway.
Bought new irons earlier this season ( in the netherlands, europe) mizuno mp20 MMC with 110 gram steelfiber shafts. Up to a 6 iron and switching to a 5 and 4 hybrid. Now after getting accustomed i use those hybrids as real scoring clubs from 200 yards out. Try it!
Nice vid, important vid. Sub 65mph probably even worth considering a 7 wood or 9 wood. The hybrid still not getting to that magical 40 degree descent angle.
I have the OL irons and my SS with them is 77 mph. My 5H? I can get to 79-80. I can hit the 5i off the deck. I guess the verdict here is that I can go either way with that club. I do carry a 4H.
It's all about what gives you the best performance! We just often see that issue with longer irons where players cant get the launch necessary to generate the distance gapping or stopping power. If you can do that with your irons, play them!
I play Wilson D9's and currently have a 6 iron. I would prefer to move to the hybrid but when I looked at the loft it was 28 degrees vs 24 degrees for the irons....... why wouldn't the hybrid be at the same loft as the iron??
Marketing. People will buy a 6 iron that's really a 4 iron because it makes them look good but they won't buy a 8 hybrid that's really a 6 iron because it makes them look bad.

Thanks for a multi speed comparison. Very helpful.
Just found this online store and ordered a few used clubs. Looking forward to seeing how they work out

I like the idea, but did I miss the 5 iron at 80 and 95? Would love to see this repeated with 4 and 3 hybrids good info. Thx
Thanks for slowing it down for us old guys
No problem. Thanks for watching - Thomas
So to replace the 5 iron, should you pick a 6 hybrid ?
to get the same distance.
Yes in my experience, unless you lack swing speed for a particular Iron, then I would go with the same number in Hybrid.
Good enough but, shouldn't the shaft flex express the type of player and speed? Perhaps A-flex @ 65mph and so on...
Wouldn’t you choose a lighter shaft with less stiffness for a slower swing speed ?

Top review. Thanks.
Can you also compare a 4H and 5H to a 7W and 9W for low swing speeds of 65mph and 80mph?
Great idea, we'll add that to the list

Wondered why you didn’t show the 5iron at the higher swing speeds?
I guess at 80 you can go either way with it? At 95 you'd go 5i.
Yes kind of turned what could have been a great comparison to one that is just lacking data
I remember from a fitting that my 7 iron speed was 80mph, but no idea what it is for my 5 iron. Any ideas please?

What degree wood would replace a traditional lofted 5 iron?
what is the loft of yr iron and hybrid? are they the same loft?
The g410 5 hybrid has 26* of loft and was not adjusted and the 5 iron used was a T200 that has 25* of loft - Thomas
