Just finished the Gongaga region a few days ago, (Sunday night). Made it to Gongaga this past Thursday. Finally got to play it during the weekend, and to be honest I didn’t like this part of the game cause of the traversal. The thing I liked about Gongaga is the theme, just thought it was really peaceful. Monday night I was scrolling through my feed on Instagram to find out a childhood friend passed. She’s someone I’ve known since elementary school. Everyone we grew up with is shocked, cause it came out of nowhere. I thought it happened on Monday, but she actually passed Sunday morning. I have this thing where I’m always thinking about what I was doing in that moment/day when someone I know passes, I don’t know why. I was asking myself “What the hell was I doing that morning? Oh yeah… playing Final Fantasy.” Then I remembered this theme since it was basically playing on my tv throughout the weekend. Really doesn’t help when you finally reach the village, and one of the first things you do is “pay your respects”. I knew the OST for rebirth was going to be great but it blew me away. Not only a plethora of top tier pieces but having the music develop as you progress and multiple versions of them (battle, questing, etc) it really is something else. Like many others when first hearing the gongaga theme i spent the next 30mins or more just listening and it became one of my fav tracks in the game.
This is the only OST i have ever really just listened to and was amazed (Ocarina of Time is second place). Sound and how it immerses you is more important than people realize. Now release this game on PC so you can get more money Square Enix.
I figured out why I LOVE this theme. It reminds me of the adventures in the forest that my cousin had back behind his place. During the weekends and for weeks during the supper we would have sleep overs and when we were younger like thirteen and under younger, we would have adventures in the woods exploring a rock excavation site, railroad tracks, an old pond with a drastic hill next too it. We had great adventures back then... I guess Gongaga region reminded me of that same energy with this song in the background... Man it like so many have said I can see young zack having a blast here.
I walked to tesco which is a mile away to get a cheeky meal deal for work while listening to this theme I couldn't stop smiling listening to this:) thank you for sharing

@@WestEndShinobi no need to apologize! I’m personally the worst at replying online, haha. I do genuinely hope you’re doing well
The theme song to my nightmares of trying to navigate this region. To be serious though this is a well done song
This song makes me so happy 🥹🥹🥹
0:43-1:14 is my favorite part for sure. Brilliant track, the rise of the strings with the percussion does it.
This is the only OST i have ever really just listened to and was amazed (Ocarina of Time is second place). Sound and how it immerses you is more important than people realize. Now release this game on PC so you can get more money Square Enix.
Zack is proud
When FF7 Rebirth is released on PC, this game will EXPLODE. I bought a PS5 just for this game, so I guess the exclusivity tactic worked.
I keep coming back to this I love it so much I feel like it perfectly captures the essence of a young country bumpkin Zack growing up in gongaga 🥹
I walked to tesco which is a mile away to get a cheeky meal deal for work while listening to this theme I couldn't stop smiling listening to this:) thank you for sharing
This song has been stuck in my head for days since spending hours in and then leaving gongaga. I keep wanting to go back just to hear the theme again.
if 0:14 doesn't give you chills can you really call yourself a Final Fantasy fan?
Zack really got to grow up as the local Tarzan - what a beautiful region & soundtrack! 🫶🫶🫶
top tier track but someone forgot to silence their phone and now we get to hear their calendar notifications forever at 1:42
The children singing are sampled from the song "RMI" by MC Solaar.
They really knocked the music out of the park. I'm enjoying every song I hear. New song to have on repeat. Thanks squeeeenix
The Uilleann pipes theme has, for me, become an earworm and I have neither the game, nor a PS5. Yes, I've been watching a playthrough. :D
This is my 7th time having this on loop. Something about it that evokes an early 1900's adventure into the jungle.
I’ve had this track stuck in my head for a week n half now since playing through the region, wow ❤
