Pasco fifth-grader's "shady" classroom idea becomes reality

  • Genie Hernandez, a Mark Twain fifth-grade student, tells how she came up with the idea for an outdoor shaded classroom area in the courtyard of the Pasco elementary school on North Road 40. The $25,000 project was a collaboration between the Mark Twain PTO and donations from community businesses.
