About Me
My name is Brandon Herrera. I'm the owner and operator of The AK Guy Inc, a 07 Firearm Manufacturer based out of Fayetteville, NC. I also co-own Stark Media Group, and designed the rifle known as the AK-50.
I've started to dedicate this RUclips channel above all to have fun, but also as a way to document my entrepreneurial journey for the next few years as I try to grow my companies. Hopefully, people can learn from my example, successes, and failures.

@@xPhantom_404x The Ak 74- U is chambered in 5.45. It's essentially the Russian version of the 5.56. Though there is a standard 5.56 Ak called the AK-101. Brandon is true Slav and only uses what mother Russia made him.

@@user-ro9zf9kz1h they're one of the companies that make level 3a that'll stop the 5.7 round. It's also stab proof which weirdly not a lot of Kevlar vests are. It's the same one I use for work. They have a ton of other really nice options and you can buy it with a payment plan and get it immediately and pay only like 50 bucks a month or less.

the best gun to carry is the one that you are most comfortable and confident in shooting. Effective hits matter much more than caliber(within reason) and capacity is mostly a concern in a really big fight. Aside from a determined aggressor most people tend to run away when the shooting starts.
I don't carry (yet), but I get the same feeling at 22. One 1911 owner to another, what 1911 do you have? I went with a basic GI pattern Auto-Ordnance 1911A1 with a matte black finish and swapped the plastic grips for rosewood.
the best gun to carry is the biggest gun you can reliably conceal. a bigger gun is allways easier to shoot than a small one, small guns are a compromise and never anything else.
@@chrisoffutt8968 Damn, I'm glad to see I'm not the only one preaching that particular gospel. I don't know how many people I've met who carry a weapon that does not fit their hand, they cant' control or they just hate because somebody else told them, "it's a great gun!".
Theres a study floating around that compiled police investigated shootings in the US. What it found was 98% of altercations were stopped with the presence of a fire arm. Of the remaining 2% where shots were discharged 98% ended with a double tap so long as it was a chambering of .32 cal or higher.
The most lethal cartridge per the study was .357.
Police carried 38 or 357 for like 50 years, and these were police investigated shootings so there is a scew.
The real point is, capacity is of little consequence unless you're in a fire fight. .32 cal and above are sufficient to stop the altercation with a double tap in 99.9% of cases.

@@KoishiVibin are you high? That's exactly how armor works. It stops the bullet from putting a hole in you, but all that energy still has to go somewhere. It's extremely common to get cracked ribs and deep bruising even with armor plate.
@Daniel Wong no the bullet did not gain energy, fun fact the same energy dispersed across a larger area is less damaging as well as the motion of the hand/wrist area helps disperse the energy similar to a shock absorber

@Daniel Wong It depends on where you get hit. There is a much more concentrated force where that slug impacts compared to you bracing a relatively heavier gun with two hands and your shoulder.
One thing is for certain though, it would still fucking hurt like hell.
@Daniel Wong Dude, no. The more massive the body the less force is felt upon it. It's why there's 20mm shoulder fired rifles that put holes in tank armor, but only give the shooter a sore shoulder. Or why you can mag dump a 5.56 holding it in one hand, but the bullet will shatter the bones of anything it hits.
For instance: 60kg shooter and rifle (16 in barrel with M855)
acceleration is given by Vf^2 = V0^2 +2ad where a is acceleration and d is barrel length. We want a, so a = Vf^2/(2d). That gives 7,388,168m/s/s
so now we plug that into F = ma, F = 60kg*7388168 = 443x10^6 N
However on the other side, dealing with a bullet weighing 0.004 kg, the force imparted on the shooter is only 29,552 N.
A practical example is if you stood straight and pushed against a car in neutral, on a perfectly flat surface, you would fall over while the car would move a couple inches. The more massive an object, the more it resists changes in motion, also known as inertia.

the formula you're looking for is the formula for kinetic energy: Energy = (mass * velocity^2) / 2 .
The velocity is still a bigger factor than the mass in the end, so faster bullets have more energy than bigger bullets.

Also, not wrong, the formula is correct, I didn't say anything other than the fact that a faster bullet has more energy. I know that the shape of the bullet affects penetration a lot, but i am not a material scientists, so i can't comment on that.
@@muha0644 (Copying the second half of my comment) The relevant equations you want to talk about are F=MA (force = mass x acceleration) and P=F/A (pressure = force / area). Combining these two equations you'd get
Pressure = (mass x acceleration)/area.
So basically the mass of the projectile and the velocity (as the acceleration in the equation would be it going from fast to not fast when it hits you) factor in equally. However, the surface area of two projectiles of equal force makes a big difference in pressure, a.k.a. penetrating power.
For example, the .45 usually exits the barrel of a pistol going somewhere around 800-900 feet/second coming out of a pistol. Heavy bullet going fast slaps ya, what people are usually referring to when the talk about the .45's "stopping power". However, I've seen videos of the 5.7x28mm measured coming out of an FN57 at over 1700 feet/second. Small light bullet going fast transfers it's force over a small area and penetrates.
Of course there are a myriad of other factors when choosing a caliber of bullet that factor into "stopping power" and penetration. Such as FMJ vs. hollow points as well as bullets specifically designed to penetrate armor using a soft lead/copper shell with a harder metal penetrating core (hardened steel, tungsten, or tungsten carbide usually).
@@muha0644 So, main thing is accidentally mashed together the F=MA and E=MC^2, nothing is squared in the actual relevant equations to projectile ballistics. It's an understandable mistake if you don't deal in a lot of physics. ;)
@@CarBENbased You guys missed the boat, the correct answer is putting the target down. With the parameters being handguns and level 3 soft armor cannot be penetrated reliably, although there is 7.62 x 25 surplus that wiil. The demonstration clearly showed (off track us a rifle) that the energy transmitted can still be deadly. Hit them. Enter of mass hard with as much power (read recoil) that you can handle. Then move to less protected vital areas. The 10mm andv357 Sig can kill even though they don't penetrate by crushing ribs and soft tissues. However small fast calibers like the 5.7 can penetrate but have nothing left to reach and damage vital organs.

Apparently, DemolitionRanch bought an original FN Baby Browning...in a pawn shop for 100 bucks. Whoever sold it there probably thought it was the same as a Raven MP-25 or other small guns that are cheaper than dirt, and got disowned by his dad shortly thereafter.
