About Me
My name is Brandon Herrera. I'm the owner and operator of The AK Guy Inc, a 07 Firearm Manufacturer based out of Fayetteville, NC. I also co-own Stark Media Group, and designed the rifle known as the AK-50.
I've started to dedicate this RUclips channel above all to have fun, but also as a way to document my entrepreneurial journey for the next few years as I try to grow my companies. Hopefully, people can learn from my example, successes, and failures.

More like 50-50 chance from what I seen and he described. Although in a game like your describing...that would still be awesome as hell, especially if it added up bonus damage per shot hit. 10/10 would grind for.

@@jacobcurran5543 because its not intentional, a lot of the law only applies if it was purpose or negligence that caused something and this was neither. Also he has an ffl for manufacturing which also applies to automatics if I remember correctly.

i'm 99% sure that TAB:G has a "super gun" that is an M16 with 30 round "burst fire"
I had an East German .22lr AK training rifle. The magazines were actual AK mags with a .22 mag insert. No plastic anywhere. It cycled damn near flawlessly and was accurate enough. It had the plumb plastic furniture and the standard AK could be fixed to the barrel and lug. Mitchel Arms made one as well. I owned them both. This was in 1992-93 during the post ban fiasco. The East German model was legal in pre ban configuration because it had some American parts. They were far and few between.
Thing about tht is it was designed from the ground up In 22lr and had pretty much no standard ak parts inside it.

Honestly, if i was doing this video, i'd feel unwell even telling people where to find this. Mainly because of the blatant problems it was having on his test-beds. I'd 'never' tell anyone where to find something that was unsafe. If they google it, thats on them, but i'd personally never openly tell people how to find something unreliable and unsafe to even get.

There are conversion kits, like this one, for ar15 that work very nice. So what i learned from your video is basically that the disconnector is an obstacle in a 22lr blowback system yet one spare disconnector and a file are good investments.

I love how when it runs away, the way it stops isn’t by emptying its self out but by another gun issue by jamming
The engineer who designed the mag realized the guy that designed the blowback portion messed up, so he made every third round fail to feed as a safety precaution.
Shooting full auto anything is amazing 99.99% of the time. The .01% that it isn't fun...is when it's not supposed to shoot full auto. This conversion kit manages to nail that .01. That's really saying something. Nothing good. Of course. But something.

Honestly I don't shoot either round all that much, compared to how much spent brass I have of either of these. I use them for my model tanks/artillery, because .17 HMR is almost perfect scale for 120mm(~ish) spent brass in 1/35 scale.

I built my own HBAR AR-15 in 1989. It functioned identically to this AK. It turned out to be the trigger. Once I put in the correct trigger, the rifle functioned correctly. It took me over 3 decades to figure it out with a kid fresh out of gunsmith school.

Norinko back in the day made a conversion kit for their 5.56 aks it works surprisingly well and feeds pretty well after some small tweaks

I've watched a few of these drop-in kit videos now and ammo quality also seems to be a big factor too. You want high pressure .22LR ammo, don't just grab the cheapest stuff off the shelf.

I bought one of the last ones of these you can even find for sale online, $175. Ran it for the first time today in my G3 PSA-AK-47. It actually ran perfectly. I used 50 rounds Hyper velocity CCI and then 50 rounds of some 25 year old CCI ammo from the back of my closet. I was expecting failure honestly and came with a full toolkit but i never needed it.
Now bear in mind installation was...difficult...and was mostly solved by depressing the hammer while jamming it in, but I never had to mill anything (Although you could and not harm the AK). Also bear in mind the top-cover wouldn't fit back on it unless i altered it slightly. But hey! it still works and was a lot of fun!
I'll update this post if i ever get a failure or my extractor explodes.

Some-odd decades back, I had an M-1 Carbine lookalike in.22 lr from an Italian company (whose name is lost to time), that had a poorly designed disconnector sear. The metal of the trigger group was of no better composition than might be expected from the 1960s import scene and together with a sear that would happily suspend operations to become an impromptu "happy switch", I found that I possessed a 10 round buzz saw that was still quite accurate. Luckily, (never thought I would say THAT), my brother burned my motorhome to the ground , turning the mostly zinc action into a metallic cow pie. That saved me from all sorts of nasty problems, but I will never, truly, be grateful.

I got the cmmg 22 AR conversion kit and its been flawless through over 40000 rounds.i even run it with a binary triggee and still no hiccups ! I was hoping this would work that sucks but makes sense the AK doesnt seem like a good 22 platform at all

I used to have that problem and then I got rid of my ruger 10/22 and it never happened again.

Funny I have a 715t and out of over 5,000rds I’ve only had maybe 10 stove pipes and 2 failure to eject... it’s also surprisingly accurate with CCI mini mag.

It's almost like the only thing you need to do to make this straight blow-back semi automatic .22 LR a select fire firearm without an auto sear is to have a safety lever that blocks the disconnector if you get the disconnector functioning reliably in the semi automatic function. Why does that part sound so familiar? OH YEAH that's a standard AK fully automatic part, who would have thought xD
