I can absolutely relate to the fact that PD makes everything very tech looking. Therefore I love the functionality of their products, but unfortunately, I always find myself keeping all of their products on a wishlist for years and end up never buying any. So excited to find out that there is a good looking option! Tanks Banj!
I personally find a lot of value in being visually inspired by the equipment that I use. I have been enjoying your videos! Thanks for all the work you put into them for us.
My favorite strap is Vi Vante Matador SL. It’s made by braised leather, soft yet grippy. I wear it cross body and I can slide my camera any position and it will hold in place and won’t slip down. The SL version fits Peak Design Anchor Link. Wotancraft PD Anchor Link leather strap is great too, soft one piece of scar free leather, but it may be too thin to shoulder heavy camera for long wear. Australia Lucky Strap has some low price good quality wide leather straps that I use with heavier camera. Hold Fast Money Maker looks and work great but it’s heavy, bulky and I always worry the hardware may scratch my camera. It’s kind of overkill for smaller body like Leica. The advantage is they can customize for you (e.g., left hand), but some items shipping is slow, it’s possible that they’re made to order. Another good strap for Leica is Harry Benz, excellent craftsmanship, the only thing is very long wait. The last strap I ordered took three months, hopefully that was because of pandemic. Their SL version fits PD Anchor Link.
Recently picked up a Black Rapid Breathe Curve (not leather). I picked it up for its function rather than it’s cool points. It’s had a bunch of great features and helps me get the job done. Mostly like it if I want to have my camera out of the way, but still bring it along with me.
dont forget to apply neatfoot oil once every few years to help preserve your leather strap, it also helps to make them more flexible, i restored an old strap from 1962, it does miracle
Thanks for this video. I like the op/tech straps and connectors. They're very practical, comfortable and fairly inexpensive, but pretty "techy" so you wouldn't like them. I do use leather straps (several from Gordy's) on my "older" cameras. Keep up the good work.
Great video. I shoot three cameras on the street mounting 3 different lenses. I hate changing lenses when I see a subject requiring a,different focal length. My set up is,Leica 111f with 21mn, Mr with 35mm, and Contax 11a with 50 sonnar.. I hate the N6 strap I have been using for 30 years , but is actually east to get off. Just bought a nice adjustable leather strap for Contax11a so I can hang 2 cameras vertically. Have a writs strap for 111f which is almost a snapshot camera with a 21mm . I am considering the peak design leather strap you showed because I also have other cameras I use as well. Great video
Gordy is my go to strap. Perfect for a Leica M body. I dont use the extra neck thing. The nice thing is they offer a lot of different lengths which a lot of companies do not (I go for a 34"-36" and its hard to fine short straps). Another nice thing about Gordy where the strap connects to the body of camera there is not a lot of material to get in the way of your hands. A lot of wider straps and straps with chunky connections (like the Holdfast Classic Strap) really bug me when holding the camera.
Great vid as always. You had a brown leather strap with string style snaps on one of your Leicas. (I think it was in your DBMH promo vid if I remember correctly). What strap brand was that one ?
Ohhhhh it might have been an earlier version of the Clever Supply Co one before they added the Peak Design stuff! I had a Gordy’s Strap on my Hasselblad, a HoldFast MoneyMaker for my Leica M240 digitals and an earlier Clever Supply Co strap for my Leica M6
Super cool channel and detailed stuff! What shoulder strap with a single mount would you recommend for a point-and-shoot that you otherwise hang it on your wrist?
Great video and great information. I am using peak design. Do you have trouble putting it onto a Leica M? I could not squeeze the thread of the anchor part into the "ear" on the camera.
My go-to strap is the one handmade by @ybputro. Super comfy! Check out his IG. He's based in Yogyakarta, Indonesia. He can do international shipping too.
I love the gordy's straps. They are great for everyday use since they are so small and packable.

Awesome, thank you!
Great video! I ordered my straps from Clever Supply. Thanks for the discount!

These look like great options to replace my old leather straps. I've had the Hervic leather Comfort Strap on my Leicas since the 80s.

Totally agree with your comment on the come with strap 😄😄😄
Good video, Benj. I'm into the peak design system so that third strap is a nice alternative to the seat belt looking one I use while hiking. Lol
Haha, right?? I love the concepts there but it’s all function and I’m a sucker for aesthetics
@@benjhaisch 🤔 maybe peak designs is taking notes and start looking at some leather straps 😂😂😂

This is amazing. I've been looking for a "nicer" camera strap for my cameras. This definitely helped me deciding what strap to purchase!

I wish the holdfast money maker clasps will have a lock on them like the black rapid system. Just give me the sense of security.
Super helpful !!
Hi mate, love my leather straps, these look awesome. Great review
I am about to order a black leather strap from 595strapco with the Peak Design clips!
Nice one dude! Gonna get a Clever Supply Co strap ordered. ✌🏼
I've always loved the Leica straps
how did u get the straps to the tiny loops on the leica? I cant lol

Probably a Gordy’s one. I got the other two more recently

Benj Haisch Yep. Totally that one. Thanks hombre.
From Clever Supply, do you like the adjustable strap or the anchor strap? And if so what length do you prefer. Thank you-great review.
If I only had one it’d be the adjustable one for sure. It’s nice to be able to move things around if needed depending on the camera.
@@benjhaisch Awesome! Thank you! :D
Are you booking up a neck strap camera to the hold fast too? Or keeping them all separate?
How do you find getting the peak design anchor through the eyelit of the M10, its almost impossible
lots and lots of patience...
Have you seen the leather straps from Hawkesmill in England? I use two, love them 😎
Not yet!
Super cool channel and detailed stuff! What shoulder strap with a single mount would you recommend for a point-and-shoot that you otherwise hang it on your wrist?
I have one from Tap & Dye and one from Clever Supply Co. Both are awesome.
@@benjhaisch Thanks, man! Will look them up!
What strap do you use on your Hasselblad 500? I’m looking for a good strap to use with mine. Cheers.
I dont like Peak design stuff as I hate scratching up my gear and the clips of the Peak design does stratch my gear.
Great video and great information. I am using peak design. Do you have trouble putting it onto a Leica M? I could not squeeze the thread of the anchor part into the "ear" on the camera.
Ah yeah, I had to pinch it down to get it in.
Is that an M6?
It is 🤑
kinda hard to take this seriously when its just a paid promotional ad.
What lens was that on the EOS-3?
Canon 50/1.8 STM

Too many straps have metal attachments which can easily scratch the camera.
This is so biased, people has been complaining about the holdfast pinching issues for years, and you don’t even mentioned it could be a possibility
It’s not an issue that I’ve encountered ¯\_(ツ)_/ can only speak to my own experiences, my King.
