I got so lucky yesterday. I have no pity and spent 81 pulls for Aventurine (got him), tried out my luck with what's left of my passes and 4 passes later... Jingliu showed up. I'm super happy and lucky 😭🙌❣️

I started very recently(also on and off) and got pull-happy because on my Genshin account I’m saving up. Went for adventurine and got him, then decided to save but ended up pulling on jingliu’s banner. Ended up getting insanely lucky and getting her. Happy to see that both of them are high on your list
Acheron is 100% needed in a new player team.
Grinding through 100 Sim Universes is tedious without her. Plus shes strong AF.
Simulated Universe is getting a big update to make it less tedious, to be fair

@@northwind2538in 2.3 there’s going to be a big update letting you skip straight to the boss fight after you’ve beaten the Sim Uni once to get the planar ornaments. Also there’s gonna be new type of simulated universe game mode. Hype!
If I will start star rail today first to pull is the easier to use main damage more likely jingliu with the current roster and to build around her then pull a sustain to help you other week team survive

I started playing during Sparkle's banner and I had the idea planted in my brain to go for both aventurine and jingliu. I was lucky to get Sparkle early, and I'm glad I got talked into pulling for Acheron as well; she's been way more f2p friendly than people claimed. I have her e0 on a s1 GNSW, in a team with gallagher, pela and guinaifen, and even with my extremely cope rainbow relics she does over 100k when she ults.
And I ended up with aventurine and jingliu anyway.
Now I got about 12k jades left and a bunch more to grind out in the world. I'm going to try for Robin, and if I'm lucky, also Topaz (I really want to make a Aventurine/Robin/Topaz/Ratio follow-up team as my second team). After that, it'll be building my roster and saving jades for the future.
0:46 aventurine only does that when he has his A6 trace, so for a new player that isnt at equilibrium 5 yet, this doesn't work
just clarification for people who think that he does it unconditionally
His A4 gives you a shield at the start of the battle, which imo is his best trace (for survivability) behind his A6

Jingliu may be overlooked a little bit after Acheron came out, but she really is easy to build, does a ton of damage, and is just soo damn good to play! One of the most rewarding characters in the entire game in my opinion, and a must pull for new players!

So I started the game 20 days ago and I finished the main quest, accidentally pulled out Acheron AND her light cone. In addition I finished all quests on jarilo vi and on the Luofu. My account is currently at trailblazer lvl 55. I'm waiting for seele to appear since she's my favourite character. That's all 😉
Is it still worth getting Jingliu as a day 1 player? I've lost the 50/50 for her both times, and now idk if I should just save for Sam instead

Jingliu and Acheron are actually equal dpses, like getting back acheron ult takes 2 cycles at most and for jingliu u run her 3 times to dish out exactly the same dmg in equal cycles.

Smart way to look at it. Acheron needs time to start her ult, in that time JL has dealt about as much or a bit less (depending on the situation) of Acheron’s ult. Both strong units.
Thanks for the advice! It's very helpful as a newer player. I picked up Aventurine and Jingliu and will try for Robin next! I feel like this list might get adjusted with Firefly's release but that might just me being too hype about her at the moment lol

JingLiu is my choice, she's the best ice damage dealer in the game and easy to build, she helps me to clear every content very easy, her E1 is the best investment and you don't need her lightcone as you can use the free one from the Herta shop
I have both two good team with Acheron and JL as hyper carries waiting on the next broken unit going for Sparkle for sure when she rerun tho

My fav honkai Character is "Braxophone". He is broken ingame, but a little too much of a jingliu simp. Overall a good pick up for newer players who wants to simp with him. Be careful tho, he is a giant.
Overall good picks, though I think you missed an obvious one. I'm a certified Kafka skipper but even I realize she makes top 5 for beginners. The ease of building her combined with her flexible team comps (and the fact that Hoyo keep catering content toward her, basically future proofing her) makes her easily one of the best DPS units to pick up, easily on par with Jingliu and Acheron at low investment. If pulling for "instant power" I'd say new players should build a Kafka team and a Jingliu team, and if you want to think more long term Acheron is going to be the best of the three most likely. Maybe make do with what you have for the second team until we get another DPS that's on her level (in the endgame). Honestly even Acheron + Kafka is fine cause Acheron doesn't really care that much about being on element anyway. Sucks if we get a bunch of lightning resistant enemies in the future is all.
Yup yup, the best thing about Kafka is when you build a DOT team with her at the centre, you can shred most content. Yeah it can be slow if the weakness doesn't match (worse if they have lightning res) but I've done that blue bug and pre-nerf Aventurine with my DOT team.
The disadvantage though? If your first built team is DOT, hypercarry teams are annoying to build. Crit body pieces are rare let alone crit value subrolls, and you may not be used to single DPS teams (aka expecting all members except maybe sustains to deal some damage because you're used to debuffs).
Also it’s a hidden feature for adventurine, but he also increases your 5 star chance by 5 percent and eliminates 50/50s
Im sorta new and have both adventurine and acheron....my question is my 2nd dps unit would be seele. Would you pull for jingliu or wait for boothill ? Trying to get a 2nd team dps for moc and etc
I’d recommend Jingliu because her damage floor with moderate investment is really high (her enhanced state gives her over 40% crit rate so you can just focus on building crit dmg and you don’t even need the best pieces to do big number). Boothill looks like he’ll be an insane break dps, but Jingliu’s still really powerful and accessible.
Boothill easier to build and his best supp is harmony mc what u get e6 for free, he just need breakeffect and that's it, but everyone can do job if u build and give them right support, i clear moc on 36* even with jing yuan, so pull who u like more
Would Robin work in my DHIL team? DHIL (E2S1) base speed, 161 spd Sparkle (E1S1), Tingyun (E6) bronya LC and luocha. Looking to see if she will work better than Tingyun
My personal top units to pull right now is Acheron and Aventurine. Acheron allows a smooth play in and out of combat. Meanwhile Aventurine is a solid shielder that is usable from start to higher conundrum levels in SU. We can pretty much say that there will be more SU dlc to come so you’re prepared in both offense and defense already
For beginners? I don't think Acheron should be worth it (though the banner is already gone) she's really not recommended to pull as long as you're a late-game player (also not an F2P friendly choice for new players considering lightcone options are limited aswell.)
Yup she restricts your team options to triple nihility and a sustainer which is quite difficult in early game and then the second problem is she is just not as consistent as Jing liu even in late game she is a bit behind in terms of consistency without her lightcone
Yeah, Acheron maybe have a great damage but it's still restricted By the fact that she need 2 nihility to maximize it, Not just the damage but her ult need Debuffer to gain stack fast and with her sign she can do it faster and better. Not F2p and newbie friendly imo even if she gets to e2 it's just increase her damage not her efficiency.

Which is much better than picking an early game friendly dps that will get powercrept fast and that I won't be able to use in the end game. But that's just me

Idk if I could’ve picked a better time to start playing HSR less than 2 months ago, with a fuck load of grinding (and credit card-chan), Sparkle and Jingliu / Acheron are easily some the best options in the game. Also in terms of early game 5 stars that I don’t think should be written off is Welt or Himeko, Welt slows everyone to a snail assuming he’s built right and Himeko is not a dps monster but she definitely is handy for Aoe fire which a lot of early game content is weak to, but by far the best pick up is aventurine, the shield ability is broken any will carry you through any part of the game
I lack of supports because I only went for my favorites on my main account, My second account has good supports :D, but this time Robin looks like a nice support for my Acheron (Accelerate all team after using them and get marks for Acheron's ultimate) and for any unit so I'm risking the 50/50 for her :D

Jingliu is the reason I was getting full MOC clears ...until Acheron dropped and the overall difficulty switched up for her lmao

As a new player, I pulled for Acheron. Not because she's insanely good, but because I like hot lady with black hole powers.
hmmmm..... i have everyone here but sparkle lmao, but yeah all solid choices an addition to this might be luocha as his heals are amazing even though i just got him recently through his rerun he helped alot when in G&G or SD where the enemy deals a lot of dmg to a single character, mine usually fully maxed heal all the dmg. Aventurine has taken his spot now tho as i accidentally got him and his e1 building pity lmao.

Acheron for new player is kinda demanding, not only you need 2 Nihility, which would be Pela and Gui/Sampoo/Luka, but you also need Luka LC on Pela, GNSW on Acheron which probably wont be at high refinements. Your preservation unit also needs a specific lightcone, Trend . So yeah, highly depending on Gacha lightcones is very risky, you could be luck as hell too or pull on lightcone banners but that's a crime as new player. That said, she is incredible good for speedrunning SU and Overworld but that kinda breaks the essence of the game for a ndew player LoL
I did a random ten-pull on Aventurine with slight over 10 pity and got him
1) Not gonna lie aventurine with half relics and all lvl 1 traces was still keeping my team safe.
2) Ruan for break or robin for fua but both are great for duo dps teams.
3) huohuo is amazing in every single team.
4) No.
5) just sparkle.
Avenrurine is my first 5 star after sying for like 8 hrs. He's pretty cool.
I am planning on using money if I am going to be playing the game, so with how I am new, I don't know who to get, nor do I know exactly how good Dr Ratio is, as he was just given to me, considering that it makes it to where I don't know who would end up filling the same role, but out of the 5 stars from this video, Sparkle seems like one I could want, especially considering how red and black are actually two of my favourite colours, especially when used together, as red and black is my favourite colour combination.

I pulled Acheron in 54 singles. Aventurine with 30 singles and just got jingliu with 60 singles! I’m loving the game again lol

As a new(ish) player I'm glad somebody actually points out that Acheron isn't that great early on.
I benched her almost completely and stuck with Hanabi + JY until I was able to farm 5 star relics bc overall she felt pretty lackluster and not good to play before.

As someone who has played since release and have every character here, here's my suggestion:
If you need a sustainer, go for Aventurine.
If you need a DPS, go for either Jingliu or Acheron, but do bear in mind that Acheron's kit is oddly specific. So, unless you're planning for E2, better build up the Nihility characters you're gonna team her up with.

I'm still the biggest Silver Wolf d' rider. I didn't need to build 10 DPS for each weaknesses 'cause her implant is so good. This is speaking from a Beginner's perspective. Getting a powerful DPS (JL, DHIL, Acheron), SW, universal Harmony (RM/Robin) and sustainable sustain (preferably Preservation FX/Aventurine) makes clearing Quests easier and progressing faster in the story. It will literally carry you until late game. OFC in late game, SW's value decreases but not severely. I use her in SU and I can farm any world with my 1 powerful DPS thanks to SW's implant. This actually saves so much time and resources. Of course, by mid-late game you'll have to start building a 2nd team, while doing it, you can use your main team to farm ANYTHING. Any domain, echoes, shadows, and worlds in SU works. You don't need to build so many characters for each weaknesses just to farm mats, relics, and sets. Honestly, I'd rather use SW in SU since the blessing are already pseudo-harmony. SW's def shred and implant are so good. Plus she's great at depleting toughness bar herself if she implants quantum. She's also SP+ on top of that. I would never regret getting SW in early game even in late game.
Silver Wolf saved me a lot of time and resources as beginner. She's not even picky when it comes to building her. She's so underrated fr
I created a new account cause I'm bored, pulling because I need DPS for my newbie acc plus I'm doing a speed running story for the next update and Jingliu really helps me because some or 'many' bosses story have ice type weakness. Got carried by Jingliu =D, (this is my personal experience!)

I think kafka should also be in the honorable mentions because she is the core part of dot team comps I'm not even biased here plus i don't have her( lost my 50/50 😢) . She enables dots and works very well with most of the dot characters.
