I love this pattern! I’ve made it twice now. The second time I increased the bobble sizes from 3 stitch rows to 9 stitch rows, back down to 3 so there is an ombré effect of bobble sizes and I love it!
Your videos are so informative and thorough! The repetition really helps slow learners like myself. It means I don't have to keep going back to find out how to do something again...I like the way you repeat 4-5 times. Thank You!
Thank you for the wonderful instructions! You’re such a thoughtful teacher. This was a great project for a beginner that taught me new skills and produced an item that will be a beautiful gift. This project took me a long time as I’m recovering from a brain injury. Whenever I had to take long breaks and relearn the pattern, your clear instructions helped me to pick it back up again and were great rehab for my mind and fingers.
Thank you for being upfront with your oversight in material choice. I really appreciate the honesty 😌 And I don’t know what it is about your videos, but whenever I feel like I’m burning out on knitting BAM you post a video and I’m inspired all over again 😂
I am not done with this blanket yet, but I do want to say, you are a goddess! This has made knitting the blanket so much easier! I'm a visual learner so this really helps a lot! My blanket looks great so far and I' so proud of myself :)
Beautiful! Thank you. I lean red to knit from your videos. I’m really looking forward to making this blanket. Maybe for a Christmas present for my niece. 😊
Soo cute 😍 im pregnant with my 3rd baby at 28 years old. I was 22 when I had my 2nd so I was too young to feel the importance of sentimental things like knitting something for baby 😂 hoping my nausea eases up soon and I want to make this blanket. Thank you!
It's like you KNEW I have been looking for a baby blanket pattern! Such a cute pattern! Thanks a bunch for your thorough instructions, you always explain things in a way that even I can understand.
The way you explained it all at the beginning was incredible. Ive been knitting for years and i wished id have had your help in the past. Theres no explanation in patterns is there. Thank you xxx
I just found your channel and I love it. I have been try7 to knit for a very long time. And I say wow. I'm knitting for the first time. I had some basic, but thanks to you my stress is gone because I watch your tutorials over and over I can fix my mistakes. 👍♥️🎈
Hi Davina, love your videos! Just started to knit again thanks to your tutorials. Can I suggest for your next project to knit a sock? 😅 I started my 1st pair with a pattern from Raverly and the heel flat part is wanting me to make me quit 😢 I watched so many videos trying to understand, but your way of explaining the things just out-stands in the knit-tube community.
Hey, I just started knitting and this is my first project for my newborn nephew, it doesn't look as good as yours obviously (it has some holes here and there) but just making it was so therapeutic for me, thank you!
Thank you for this gorgeous pattern! I’m just getting back into knitting and your channel is so helpful with practical information and hacks! I had no idea that libraries have knitting patterns! Thank you!!
i love that this project is a little big more advanced than complete beginner just like me 😅 but I'm now a few rows of bobbles in and there's a big hole behind the bobble no matter how much i tightly knit and use the knit 2 methods 😢 also keep up the good work! can't wait for more videos like this ❤
I'm in a similar situation. I used a different yarn and I think some yarns might be more forgiving than others. I'm considering doing some visible mending on the blanket afterwards and making it a bit more pippy longstocking than originally intended. Worried the expecting mother will be unimpressed. But I still love the tutorial and this channel
This is so beautiful. I am knitting it, but with a DK yarn and needle size 4.5. I am using a self striping yarn. I am so happy to have found your channel. You explain everything so well.
Thank you a lot for the video. Now i’m in progress of knitting the baby blanket with this pattern. I really love this, so cute. Thank you thank you thank you.❤
I've just done the first row of bobbles and oof, mines are horrible 😆 I only kinda like 4 of them so far, but I have no idea what I did to make the other ones look atrocious
i’ve been knitting this for two weeks now and so far it has been so easy to follow thank you so much! i have one question, if I want to make bigger bobbles, how do i deal with the tightness that would come from adding so many stitches into one? its already really tight and difficult to make a bobble with 5 stitches 23:09
I'm testing out this pattern and a beginner knitter. The problem I keep running into is when I purl the last stitch on the row, I end up with an extra stitch on my next row every time. I'm not sure what I'm doing incorrectly...but my purl fro some reason seems to be adding 2 stitches, so the edge is getting bulky. Any suggestions?
Hi, just wondering if you ever figured out why you were getting the extra stitches? I am a beginner knitter too and just had the same problem and can't figure out what I've done wrong. Thanks x
Hello! I am a new subscriber to your channel because i have been wanting to crochet for a while, and you helped me the best (mainly how to do a slip knot)! For one of your next videos, could you please make a stuffed animal? Thank you so much!
Davina! Thank you so much for your clear instructions and tips. I am using an super bulky yarn for a large blanket. After knitting a 5-stitch bobble, I find that a loop of yarn on top of the bobble is a bit loose (can fit a fingertip underneath it). This is despite me tightening the stitches when switching from plain to purl, as you explain. Is this a tension problem during reducing stitches? Any advice?
I absolutely love this pattern and your video and website are incredibly helpful! Could you please show us how to undo a bobble if we accidently put one in the wrong place though? I hate to ask, but I've looked everywhere for a video online of this and can't find one anywhere. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you again!
I forgot to mention that this is my second time making this blanket. I was so happy with the one I completed that I wanted to make a second one, and then move on to an adult sized throw blanket! But, I still haven't figured out how to undo a bobble if I mess up, which I finally have. 😅
Thank you so much for all your videos. They are so easy to follow. Could you give this newby more information on what kind of yarn you would have chosen? I can't tell what weight of yarn to purchase..... Please help!!
Hi! this is a lovely pattern, thank you so much. I’m trying to increase the bobble size to 7 but i dont know what to do after purling the 7 added stitches. is it the same as 5 stitches? Also, do you have any tips for making your bobbles look more circular? Thanks!
Can I make a suggestion? Instead of bobble stitches, why not make it to shapes like stars and squares. I have been looking for the perfect baby blanket project for my baby boy. Thank you for this pattern. It's so beautiful.
Just purchased two of your patterns. I am so excited to make them. I would love to share what I make you to see what you think. Is this possible? Thanks
Hi this is an amazing pattern! I love your videos their so easy to understand and so useful, you're the reason why i got into knitting! Dont mind my name lol its my little sisters acc
Hi, I'm knitting for the first time and I'm doing quite good. However, after the garter stich and after starting the stockinette stitch I missed a stitch and im not sure how to fix it. Can you please advise? Thanks
I'm going to do it for my 2 friends who are pregnant. I had a hard time choosing the yarn however, as the website I use doesn't have the same measurement as Debbie Bliss, but hopefully, I got it right. Anyway, the yarn wasn't super expensive, so if worst come to worst, I'll use it for something else
Just looked it up and you’re right. They’re very similar! Not intentional. Bobbles are just quite popular I guess. And a natural addition to baby items!
I love bobbles but haven’t tried them yet. Would it work to knit a bobble scarf on circular needles with fine yarn so it’s a long tube, then I could close the ends flat? Thinking that would be patterned all the way ‘round rather than a flat scarf with the pattern only on one side. Self-taught knitter here, so opinions welcomed! 😂
The “hardest” part is making the bobble. You can practice making a bobble on some scrap yarn first to get comfortable before trying it on the blanket 😉
Yes you can! The blanket may turn out a bit shorter and less wide, so you may want to adjust the cast on stitches and the number of repeats you knit. I go over that in the video
I’m making it with 4mm yarn right now! Followed Davina’s instructions in the video to cast on more stitches and it seems to be working out. 🎉 Happy knitting!
Try to push them to the right side of the blanket. Sometimes they get lodged in the wrong side but if you’ve knit the bobble on the right side, you should be able to push them back that way
@@sheepandstitch I think I might be knitting on the wrong side, as in opposite to what I' should be doing. Can i fix this or should i just continue as is and push the bobbles through?

This is such a beautiful pattern. Thank you for all your videos. Could you do a how to knit a sweater tutorial next?
I am on the process of making this baby blanket. I can’t say enough how adorable are the bobbles 🥰

Great pattern. what size needles?
I want to make my bobbles in a contrasting colour Do I carry the yarn in the back or cut after each bobble.
Can you demo how to change the colors of the boobles? What if you wanted white on pink? Or rainbow boobles?
I’m making this baby blanket but it seems that I have 18 rows of garter stitch instead of 16 (border) How can I fix this?

The yarn gauge isn’t super duper important. As long as it’s worsted or aran weight (also known as medium weight) it will look very similar 😄
@@sheepandstitch great, thank you!
This kind of reminds me so much of the yo-yo blanket kit by We Are Knitters because the pattern is similar.
