I ran a stock HBX2997a motor with one, I can't remember Brian what the KV rating is on that F540, do you? I also ran a stock Thunder 3300kv motor with one, a GoolRc 2600 kv and also a 3900 KV motor on the same ESC, same car. I will look through my vids when I get home, I'm pretty sure there is several videos still up with me running this little ESC. I have heard of a few people having issues with the v1 on 3s but I've never had a single failure running these exact V2 ESC'S on 3s, daily, and the occasional 4s speedruns.
@@10scaleperformance great info! The 2997a is rated at 3800kv but I tested it closer to 3900 kv. Thanks for sharing! Oh, other then the F540, were they all sized 3650?
@@10scaleperformance i bet that thunder 3300kv moter did well have had good luck with that lil vrx moter 🤷♂️y but on 4s for small moter it pulls its weight lol only thing left from the thunder truck 😂
Great video Brian, I'm glad it finally made it. I truly hope it works for you as well as they have for me. Ive stated in a couple of my videos where i ran these ESC'S on 4s but wouldn't recommend it for long periods of time, 3s, they have been very solid. I knew if anyone would push them and be HONEST, it was you. Merry Christmas and happy holidays. Looking fwd to your tests.
I only plan on doing 2 or 3 pulls..... just enough to hopefully get a solid run. And I am going to start off with 2s and 3s. Yeah, the 4s stuff will be saved for PB's and I will for sure let it cool down between runs (though it is going to be cold this weekend so that may not be much of an issue). Thanks so much and Merry Christmas to you too. Thanks again for hooking me up!
Thanks! I need to make a new one as that one is so random and just what I used since I was new to soldering... but it helps! I found if I wrap a little piece of a paper towel around the connector it protects it from any drips (when doing my big 8mm connectors is saves me sometimes. I was shaky as hell trying to film and solder and almost messed up the connectors but somehow it didn't drip down onto them.
I had one of those 120a blue esc's, lots of reviews on them burning up. The concensis is dont run 3s, the one I had literally burnt up on the bench on 2s on first powering up. They are very hit & miss for sure, hopefully you got a good - un.
@@BriansRCStuffif that works im grabin a couple of them just cause of the fan but i been getting the $17 ones on amazon & running 4s with these moters & they dont have a fan but they dont get to to hot either 140-150 after beating it up on a 4s 1550mah 120c So anything is possable😂💪
Good to hear from you, Brian. Hobbywing OEM's for a lot of manufacturers. My rule of thumb with budget ESCs is: As long as it doesn't get super hot As long as it doesn't have a delay issue Then it's usually okay. It doesn't hurt to try, since ESCs can get pricey. In case i don't hear from you until next year: happy holidays. 👍🏼👍🏼 Can you tell me what brand solder you use ? All I have is thick 3mm solder, which is too unwieldy for most electronics use. But I don't know a decent brand to buy, and have had no luck with cheap Chinese solder. Thanks in advance.
Yeah, I was skeptical of this ESC when I saw Britt run it originally but it has worked great for him so I am really excited to try it! It seems like the perfect solution for smaller RC cars that don't pull crazy amp loads! I for sure will report back on how it performs and your rule of thumb should like a great way to check it out. As far as solder, I am using some my dad gave me that is probably 20 or 30 year old lol. My wife got me some new stuff off Amazon that had high ratings that I am going to try next year but I am sorry, I am not sure what brand the stuff I am using now is (I will try to remember to check tomorrow..... but IDK if it is something that is even made anymore! Thank you for the warm holiday greeting and I hope yours is outstanding too!
I have never heard anything like that before and it should be the opposite. If the C rating is accurate (which most are nonsense numbers made up by the manufactures), a higher C rating will mean less voltage sag and ripple voltage and the ESC will be happier everything else being equal.
I really hope mine works because I want to limit the amp draw as much as possible and will make driving it a bit easier too! Thanks for the info man! I hope things have been going better with you in the past few months!
So just curiouse what moter he had on this esc running 4s i know these are good esc’s to a point but 4s hear alot of them going up in 🔥on 3s but alot of buget guys use them to race on 2s cause they have good control on a track i guess but so cant wait to see how this works out lol😂

Hi Brian, great video. Can't wait to see it perform. Let's go fast!
Hi David, how are you doing? Anything new to report with the Bandit?
Thank you! I can't wait to see what it does.... hoping for 70+.... we shall see!
Great video and solid information, bri !
You and Brett are RC gods !!
Thank you, I appreciate it! I can't wait to run this thing and go for 70 mph on 4s!

AW, come on, we both know you won't stop until you hit 100 !
lol! Well, I hit 70+ in my new video. 100 is going to be TOUGH!!!

I’ve bought 2 of those. One is awesome and made my little 1/18 radio shack frame buggy do 29 mph, and one burned up immediately
Well..... I REALLY I hope I got an awesome one 🤣

That soldering jig is a good idea. Stealing that lol

Normally it's the higher c rating batteries that kills these esc

Actually, the brand is show on the spool at 17:12 in the video! Delta QualitEK lol. 22:20 has all the specs on it.
