I'll be in Iceland August 8th-19th! So excited to be on my solo trip around the ring road! Thank you for making such great videos with super helpful info!
Awesome! I am heading that way at the end of August, I thought that there would still be too much light to see the northern lights, so I am PUMPED that I might be able to see them!
Yes!! Can't believe it is almost time to go, fly out August 21st. I am trying to find the dates for the Jokulsarlon Glacial Lagoon Firework show and not finding it. Do you know? Bummed to miss the pride parade, looks like a blast.
thanks for the video, I hope to not go to Iceland in August just because this is high season, but if for some reason my dates change. . . . . . . .then for sure I will use this.
How do I find out which sites are accessible for people with limited mobility? I can use a walker, but I need paved or level pathways. I can not hike. I wish I could, but I can't. My fear is that I will pay all of this money to get there, only to find out that most of Iceland is not accessible. My hope is to travel the ring road for 10 days and finish up with 3 days in Reykjavik...in August. I know that there will be plenty to see from my car, but I really do want to see some of the beautiful falls and vistas that I see in your videos. Can you recommend a resource?
The ones she mentioned are Þjóðhátíð, always the weekend before the first monday in august (first monday in august is a national holiday known as frídagur verslunnarmanna or Commerce Day) there are events all around the country that weekend, in Reykjavík there is Innipúkinn, in Bolungavík there is Mýrarboltinn (mud football/soccer), in Neskaupsstaður there is Neistaflug, Akureyri has Ein með öllu, KFUM and KFUK have Sæludagar in Vatnaskógur (no alcohol) and in Flúðir there are some performances and stuff . Then there is Pride week, hinsegindagar.is/en/ and at the end of the week is the pride parade. The firework show at Jökulsárlón is august 17th visitvatnajokull.is/event/firework-show-at-jokulsarlon/ Then we have Menningarnótt (Culture night) it is the first saturday after august 18th (or if august 18th is a saturday, then august 18th) culturenight.is/ it is to celibrate the city's "birthday", witch is august 18th.
I went to Iceland last August and I couldn’t believe I saw the northern lights! It was a surprise and completely unexpected!

Nossa, me ajudou muito com minha viagem! Irei no mês de agosto deste ano. Obrigada!
Do you have the names of the festival's written somewhere, and also the dates? On the Reykjavik festival site is only the pride.
