I would love to visit Iceland someday! I've had friends go over there many times both during the summer solstice to witness the midnight sun as well as in the winter (usually in February). The landscapes look incredible there!
I went in March which still had Northern lights being visible, next time I want to go in September so I can go whale watching and have the possibility to see northern lights again. Unfortunately during this time ice cave hiking is impossible because the temperatures are too high. You are right there are really seasons for everything!
I hear this all the time about the food being subpar in Iceland. Here's the thing tho, usually these are the people who are camping and traveling across the whole country. Most of these parts are remote and not much is there in terms of fine dining experiences. To compare the food in cities like Italy to remote areas of Iceland is like comparing American cuisine in NYC with the countryside like Montana or something. You can't expect to be eating michelin star quality food while traveling in a camper van. Just food for thought
Omg you have no idea how relevant and useful/thoughtful things you mentioned. few small things, you took into account the typical corporate leave allowance (i doubt any company will approve 3 weeks leave so 10 days would be doable) Next, you mention you visit during summer>winter season which is exactly what i was trying to research, was wondering if I could do icecaves during this period or must i go during nov. Also on my bucket list is northern light sporting. What do you think above camper van and which seasons/month do you recommend doing a trip with a camper?
Yes - check out this video, every single place is outlined in the order it was stayed at! Hope it's helpful! Thank you! ruclips.net/video/jMUbtzpZyzs/видео.html
hi Mahna, this is awesome, thank you! do you have an itinerary from your trip? im going in June and I just started to plan. Want to go from north to south, ending the ring road trip in the golden circle area (I went in 2018 and only did the golden circle, so rather do that last and do things/see things that i've not seen..haha)
Hi there, thanks so much! I'm so glad it was helpful! The closest I have to an itinerary is this Iceland Travel Vlog: ruclips.net/video/jMUbtzpZyzs/видео.html&feature=shares happy travels!
Planning to visit in June , but what i am afraid of is the ⛄️ activities wont be there , any recommendations or help if y know these are all sessons long ?
Hi! I’m hopefully going to Iceland in late June this year, I’m kinda starting to plan my trip and I honestly feel soooo overwhelmed with the many options, I kinda want to just pay for a tour in a place like “Guide to Iceland” but I don’t know if that would be the best option, also I don’t know what would be best, to do a self-drive tour or like a guided tour where they pick you up every morning, I also do not know what age is the minimum age to be able to do one of those self drive tours (I’m 24). I’m kinda on the low budget side cause I’ll be going 2 weeks to Germany before doing to island, honestly I just want to do like 4 days (for the monetary restraints) with a budget of max 1,200 dlls without including flights, could you maybe give me some guidance in where to start? I would really really appreciated it
Gotchu! Dont overthink it! Iceland travel can be as easy as committing to a budget tour, a mid range tour with EF Ultimate Break (they have some short tour options too), or just renting a car or camper van and doing it on your own! I would make a list of the pros and cons of the type of experiences you're looking to have, the level of independence and customization you want, and deciding on a tour or solo experience that way! Hope it helps. Either way you cant go wrong and you'll be mesmerized by the adventures and expediences Iceland has to offer. Happy travels!
Nicely presented and insightful observations. Thank you!

Regarding campgrounds - absolutely no need to book ahead of time.
Good to know!
Can you send me the whole itinerary on Google doc lol
Why do ppl say ‘I would link here” and never do? Don’t say it.
