@@mixingmasteringonline I play fretless bass and a little bit of acoustic drums 🥁, rarely can a great drum sound be achieved by close mic alone. I have a great ribbon microphone (with inline phantom powered booster) and various other microphones, less is more (took me a long time to realise that)
I ended up with a hybrid acoustic kit: kept my 14" Pearl snare but I use quieter, smaller 12" hi hats and a Trapps bass drum. I have a 13" Trapps tom on top of the snare, this is surprisingly good for recording as it cuts the snare volume down a lot and no ringing or unpleasant sounds from the snare. Sorry for being self indulgent describing my set up but it sounds great mic'd up. Acoustic toms with shells. I'm very lucky to have good microphones and more importantly, a selection to try out to get different results
American idiot is always left out of rip-off lists. Don't want to be an American idiot is a blatant rip off of hey little girl in the high school sweater. Nobody ever calls it.
@@mixingmasteringonline of course, you know what one really never makes any lists at all but it's really obvious when you hear it??? Draggin the line and Chili's baby back ribs. Tell me barbecue sauce ain't draggin the line.
That's really reaching man. That song is moreso closer to faith by goerge michael but an identical syllable count isn't a blatant rip off. You can only sing 12 syllables so many ways with a resolve. Your math does not add up sir. It rather reveals your anger for green day's success from perhaps your realization of your own failures. Get over it dude.
HAHA I listened to it and dude it sounds absolutely NOTHING like it. "I can't believe it's left off rip-off lists!" Yeah it's no wonder mate because people like you are way over-reaching
Well, to be frank, not only does your comment really just prove that they are relevant and credible in politics today, it proves that you are also an American idiot😁
One of my favourite albums of all time
Great description and analysis of the drums, they sound great, live room helped
Cheers! The natural ambiance does sound great in that room.

@@CawKee Great to have many mics, they make a huge difference to the overall sound so so experimenting is always worth the effort.
great vid man!
I've yet to try a guitar with P90 pickups but do have a Tele with a PAF in the neck position
The tremolo on Boulevard is actually done in pro tools.
what a great video on a brilliant album! where did you find those stems
Thank you. They were from the Rock Band game.
🤙🤙
Where do you get the multitrack session from this recording?
They came from 'Guitar Hero'.

That line’s tune is similar to a lot of others too I think.
@@mixingmasteringonline right, but my point is there are some real sketchy ones that end up on those lists that are a lot farther apart than this.

Men with eye makeup LOL aren't credible when it comes to current day politics. Good video none the less, watched in full
JD Vance wears eyeliner, FYI.
Cry harder
maybe i'm the f@ggot america
i'm not a part of your redneck agenda
