My Dad was a nurse at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit during the epidemic. And he said everyone was so scared and confused. Wearing extra gloves and doubling scrubs..but a little baby with AIDS was crying and wouldn’t stop. My dad picked him up and loved him held him till he fell asleep. His boss yelled at him for holding an AIDS baby. It didn’t matter he did it till the baby died. God bless the realist in that field.

Thank you Brian for organising and leading on this interview, you put forward very good questions. Thank you Guy for talking about what happened in your work, I see it was very emotional experience for you. I am sorry to hear what has happened with pharmaceutical companies in the USA.

One of my former mentors, Dr. Merle Sande, was there at the time and played a role in AIDS care.
