- Releasing worldwide this summer, PANDEMIC PARADOX: HIV ON THE EDGE is an original CSIS Global Health documentary series looking at the risk of a resurgent HIV/AIDS four decades after the first case was reported and a few months into the coronavirus pandemic.
In the second episode, “The Plague Years,” Dr. Anthony Fauci recalls the “darkest” years of his life in the early 1980s when he and others could do little to stop the surging pandemic which was stealing the lives of previously healthy young men. Through conversations with Dr. Fauci, former CDC Director Julie Gerberding, famed HIV/AIDS doctor Paul Volberding, fashion designer Kenneth Cole and many others, the episode explores how the plague was experienced - confusion, stigma, hysteria, denial - and the historic actions taken to break the silence, confront the U.S. government, and change medical practice. The episode concludes with a look at the epidemic surges in South Africa and the former Soviet Union, and thoughts on how those plague years compare with our current experience of Covid-19.

My cousin got devoured by this disease . My Aunt and Uncle covered it up out of fear of the gay stygma . He was a strapping , well built guy that died weighing under 100 lbs . Some of us knew it was not cancer but we kept mum .Thats how it was back then .
160 new diagnoses of HIV in 2021 (last year with data). That's with a fentanyl pandemic, mind you. Less than one new diagnosis per day. As Prep becomes more prevalent, that number will get closer to zero. An absolute pandemic has nearly been eliminated in the span of just over three decades. God bless everyone who helped this happen.

It's not vitriolic enough for the masses. Intellectual insights are difficult for the superficial. I don't mean this as snark, although it may sound that way. It really breaks my heart but I believe this to be true. Please share this and so will I to help others learn.

I've been researching a little, he owns half the patent for Moderna and he invested in it too, that's why he waited to get vaccinated but worse, that's why he stops any other medication shown to work from being approved, that is murder but even worse, he fnded the research into corona viruses at the very lab in Chima where the virus might have escaped, he has a lot to hide.
