I was pricing and ready to buy a new regulator for my passenger window, then I came across your video. I had 2 wires broken. Man you saved me money thank you! Window works perfect!!!
I found broken wires in the boot of the door jam. Fixing the black one fixed my issue. Window lock wire couldn’t be reached, so I’ll dig it out another day.
2005 ford f150 5 button power window problems - Following your video it seems that each window has its own power lead. So, here's my issue, my drivers window switch has been failing for sometime now, going down works fine, but going up was very intermittent. Just yesterday both (up and down) died. All other windows still worked (as good as to be expected for an 18 year old switch). I picked up a new 5-B switch at the local dealership, and installed it...same issue on the drivers window, though all other windows worked perfectly. So, my question, is there a separate fuse or relay for just the driver window (DW) switch? Does the DW switch power lead go through the door-jam bundle or does it go directly to the regulator motor?
It has been a while since I have worked on this vehicle. I recommend you get a wiring diagram. I have replaced a lot of window motors that did the same thing. I hope you found your problem. Thanks for watching.
Are you serious!? The wires are that fragile. I installed new speakers in my 05 and just the front window is not working. I bought a new switch for it and that didn’t do it. But I guess I’ll have to check that next.

Dumb question,.. is it possible to remove the rubber boot covering the wires in the door jam without tearing it out? 😬
If it will come out of the door or the jamb. It should push to one side or the other. Good luck. Thanks for Watching.
