I gotta say it’s so refreshing to have a mechanic that is so knowledgeable and willing to share it he’s already saved me thousands from what I’ve picked up 🙏 please keep ur videos coming
When I changed out my throttle body on my engine it ran sluggish after clearing codes then I ran a throttle relearn and it runs like new again... great video I learn alot off your channel.
Another thing to look into would be the fuel pump driver module which is underneath the bed in front of the spare tire. When those get worn or damaged, they can cause intermittent issues and power loss as well, it’s a cheap and easy fix, just a plug and two 10mm bolts
I am a fan of the ultra grey as well, I use it for most everything - I have a 3M800 sealant that looks sorta like that stuff that is very good for sealing water leaks (non engine related)
You have to be excited! 500 Subscribers from 10k! Good For You Kenny ! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! I still long for the days when I could just pop a fuel accelerator pump in a Rochester 4MV without having to replace the whole dog-gone carburetor for this type of issue. 2 bucks for the pump and another 2 bucks for the top gasket, punch it and it would run like a scalded dawg. OK, I know, I know, I'm dating myself again. . . . I digress, , , , , ,
I had a 2009 F-150 with the 4.6 liter. One day I was towing my mother's SeaDoo on the highway and the throttle position sensors went bad. It put on a wrench light, and would not run at all. My mechanic told me it's a very common problem with the Fords.
Have and had many. Highest still going was a guy in WI that had a 03 town car with over 700k. If u service them on time with motorcraft or better stuff she will last alot longer than the car. Seen more that ran but body was gone. Kinda like a old 5.9 cummins. Motor will run but truck is gone. Lmao. They knew how to make them back then.
I just recalibrated mine after changing the throttle body. Unhook negative on battery. Hook up the mini cables from positive post to negative cable (put a towel to ensure it doesn’t touch post). Leave for 15 minutes. Then hook battery back up normal. Take off everything, AC, radio, all electrical off. Put key in on position for about 30 seconds, start her up. Let run for 15 minutes before moving. Take her for a ride, not hard and not soft.
Wow ! Almost 400k miles not on a new Ford! These days! In my day water pumps installed with Indian gasket shellac, argh! Cuss words and razor blades! That stuff was like baked pancake syrup! Lolol let see on vibration, drive line, looking for! Was there any reading/ codes with egr showing up?? Thanks in my back alley days was know as knucklehead Smitty, lolol!
I’m having trouble with my 03 ford expedition 5.4l 2v. Have no check engine light or codes. But there’s a lack of power in the acceleration and sometimes idle other then that it runs fine.
I have a f150 has Lck of power when plugging the scanner this codes come in intake camshaft circuit bank 2 and fuel rail pressure sensor and intake camshaft circuit bank 1

66.7k now😳
Very interesting, thank you Kenny
Question
Could you just replace the throttle body sensor instead of buying the whole unit.
Hey Kenny. I had the same issue with my Ford Focus. My mecanic said it was due to a faulty EGR. Im still waiting for my car back
You may my vibration issue I'm having with Lincoln Town Car '98. Now I know where to look. There is still work to be done! 😂😂
I've seen many stupid lazy liscenced mechanics. They got really jealous when I worked with them and 0 liscence 😅
I try to keep my throttle body clean. I see a lot of people you just but in a new when a cleaning my fix it.
Same here, I snagged a spare from the wrecker so I keep a cleaned up one ready to install and just swap it
Yep.and change the iac.and tps..

The red is good on pellets stove pipe that’s it
If it's a 4.6 I'm not surprised by the mileage. I have seen some very very high mileage 4.6 engines.

Kenny, do you have to do any reprogramming to the ecu when you swap out the throttle body?

I do this when I do anything to mine Ford.

Wish I lived by him, a good mechanic is hard to find.
It would be helpful if you could have the “rest of the story “ thanks for sharing!

Not making any points! What the point? 😂
So tired of these wanna be mechanics, trying to show off their new OBD scanners, and have no mechanical skill just guessing
Exactly what I was thinking
