The reason as stated in Rocky II why Adrian had a premature birth resulting in slipping into a coma was due to all the stress she put on herself and the baby between working part-time at the pet store and worrying about Rocky's return to his boxing career and with Paulie making the stress more severe by that point before she was admitted to the hospital.
you are partially wrong on that bit about Rocky's opponents because there were more of them that do fight with heart than the two focused ones from Rocky III and Rocky IV; Apollo fought with heart, Mason Dixon fought with heart, and even Spider Rico had heart in his matches too. Even though Ivan Drago was the one who killed in the Apollo Creed Match; He even shown that he has more of a heart than Clubber and Tommy combined by comparison.
I love how humble Rocky is depicted. So many professional athletes have such an ego. Even though Rocky is a fighter, he really has no hate in his heart.
I think that humility is the biggest key to why the character is so beloved, and so timeless. But one thing that is often overlooked...Rocky also has a little cynical streak, as well. He's rarely surprised by other people's foibles and shortcomings. (remember when Paulie got him a job, and said, in typical Paulie fashion ,'you don't have to thank me....and Rocky immediately replied that Paulie didn't need to thank him for the Rolex that Rocky had given him, either)....Rocky knows people, and still likes them(for the most part). That's a very attractive quality.
That was so BS and Rocky surrendering to cancer is also BS. That’s only thing that pissed me off. Never give is his the true Rocky. Seeing his wanting die nearly gave me nervous breakdown
I understand Amazon and Sly are in the worst possible terms, but Rocky is turning 50 in just 3 years, they know Rocky Is bigger than any of them, I seriously hope they set aside their differences, and celebrate the character the way it deserves.
Stallone cares enough about the minor characters that we can’t help but find inspiration in Rocky. Look at how he even handles Little Marie, Spider Rico, or Angie in Rocky Balboa. That speech Rocco makes in Moscow after the Drago bout - that’s a major theme in all the films.
That victory jump that Rocky did when he found out he won in Rocky III is one of the most iconic moments in cinema history, in my opinion. Always gets me. The final scene as well; down to the last shot.
I think it's because Rocky isn't just a character. Sylvester Stallone put his soul into playing Rocky. It's an incredibly genuine portrayal and relatable to a lot of people.
Years ago, in college here in Portugal, one guy said that Rocky was a representation of the American dream, as if Rocky was Just a representation of his country, while I did not agree. Rockys struggles are international and he should be seen as inspirational worldwide. His message of preseverence motivates me as someone born with osteogenesis imperfecta, a dissease that gave me bones easier to break, as a reference that our biggest opponent is life itself.
Rocky will forever be a LEGENDARY character, and i'm so glad i got to grow up with him as father figure. he's a simple man, but my god is he inspiring in every possible ways.
The first movie of the franchise I ever saw was creed 1 during one of my flights. The effect of seeing the culmination of a legend from an era before you were born in modern day was really powerful, and I will NEVER forget that feeling I had when Donnie stood up for the final round and I heard the leitmotif of gonna fly now and just about recognised it, it was like "wait... I RECOGNISE this song! Isn't it.. OH!"
Rocky in 1 and 2 had trouble making it as a person, let alone a boxer. He had zero career options and struggled with many small aspects of life, like literacy. Pauly was abusive and an alcoholic. Adrien had a small and bleak existence with her brother, and she was assumed to be mentally ill by folks in the neighborhood. All of that was completely forgotten by Rocky 3
Even the outtakes are great and that’s a testament to Stallone - I could easily watch a three hour Rocky movie so hopefully we’ll get more director’s that include most of the unused scenes.
Rocky starting as the underdog and as he rises the ranks realizes he has to reflect on his teachings. Rocky's willingness to learn and teach says a lot about his character. His humility is something that never changed
Here's an idea for a new video: why didn't Apollo challenge Clubber for the title after Rocky lost in Rocky III? He had the right style for fighting Clubber, and if he won, he could offer Rocky a title shot, to try to win two out of three, and restore his legacy.
amazing video! Rocky is a great character and the franchise is something everyone can enjoy and learn about life, always do everything with 100 percent effort and heart! Go the distance!
This was a damn good video. You did an excellent job on all your Rocky vids and I would call this a masterpiece. I'm glad to be a subscriber. Stallone created an excellent final chapter with his in-ring career with Rocky Balboa. Sure it took the unpleasantness of Rocky IV to reach that point but who better to right the wrong than Stallone himself. His arc in the Creed films made me love the character even more. It saddened me so much when he had cancer. I really thought we were gonna see him die.... mirroring Mickey's death but with Adonis in place of Rocky. I'm so glad that Creed helped him win that fight. The end of Creed II still breaks my heart though because that was the first time he met his grandson and his own son in years. I personally would rather that be the true end of Rocky on screen and leave it ambiguous as to how he can finally mend his relationship with his son and enjoy his family during his final years.
I've been watching rocky films since I was 5 years old the rocky films would always cheer me up my stepdad would rent all of them I just put on rocky films one after the other in one day rocky is like my film hero as I'm big Big fan of sly who bought rocky in to the film universal plus had my first crush with rocky and sly I love how I grow up with the rocky movies and love the creed movies too hopefully sly will be in creed 4 thank u rocky for being one of the best film characters and thanks to sly for the birth of rocky and also been a round for almost 50 years as rocky used to say go for it ❤
I really wish somebody would do a video as to how important Paulie Was to The saga, In my opinion, he's the unsung hero of the Rocky franchise. Sure he wasn't well educated and you might even say he was a bit dumb but he loved Rocky dearly and he knew him better than anybody. And yes he knew him better than Adrian, remember Paulie was his best friend and by his side when NOBODY like Mick Or Adrian would give him a chance. Keep in mind it was Paulie That got FINALLY got Rocky and Adrian together after Adrian constantly rejecting him, Mickey threw them out of his locker (And rightfully so because I mean Rocky wasn't giving it his all but still Mickey abandoned him when he needed him It wasn't until Rocky got the title shot that Mickey came crawling around wanting to train him). Apollo Only chose Rocky to be his next opponent because he liked his name and his own self-promotion and to inflate his already massive ego. In Rocky II, When Mickey and Adrian tried to deterred Rocky from fighting again because of his bad eye, Paulie (because he knew Rocky so well) knew that if you fought Apollo again that he would beat him and he knew Rocky was very capable of doing it. He encouraged him right from the start to get back in the ring In Rocky III, In the final fight with Rocky and Clubber and Rocky was drawing Clubber in to wear him down, Apollo yelled "He's getting killed" and Paulie replied with "NO NO NO HE'S NOT GETTING KILLED HE'S GETTING MAD" Because again Paulie Knew Rocky better than anybody did In Rocky IV, in the last round against Drago, when Duke yelled "What is he doing?" Paulie replied with "He's winning" plus he told Rocky to hit the one in the middle lol RIP Burt Young
I would love to see rocky come back in Creed 4 and I would also love to see what happened to him when he went to see his son in Creed 2 and me his grandson and if they still talk and if he's getting along with his grandchildren
True, but they weren't personal until something HAPPENED. Apollo gave Rocky a chance, Clubber and Ivan were challengers, and Tommy was a student gone bad. Adonis knew Dame from childhood; that's the key difference of why it's so personal. Rocky only knew his opponents through boxing.

Adonis had always gone by his mother's maiden name before he ever knew who he really was and into sometime in the future after being told by Mary Ann and that was all before he learned to accept the name Creed.
Rocky V was not weak in terms of how it grossed in the box office; they wasted the story arch by adding Tommy Gunn to the mix; while it made for an epic climax it was also anti-dramatic though much of the film because the story kind of loses focus on the relationship between Sr. and Jr. because that was what should've been the focus of this film just as it had been in Rocky Balboa with a young adult Robert Jr.
Paulie acts dirty and angry as an excuse to point fingers on the wrong people for his unemployment troubles and it takes him a long while to calm down before he tells them why he lashed out; it was relevantly clear in Rocky III when he damaged the "Rocky" pinball machine out of jealousy because he knows he wasn't the type of person to attain the grasp as being on the same level of recognition as his brother-in-law; and he goes back to a similar reason from Rocky 1 in Rocky Balboa when he was cut loose from his job at the meat processing factory.
Seriously; how is a place like that almost run down meat factory supposed to stay open if they can't afford any workers or make the money anymore when they should've folded up and start afresh again before all the following events happening between Rocky III and Rocky Balboa?

Adrian is the reason he became the best version of himself
When Rocky mentioned their 3rd fight to Creed that Apollo won really shows how much a good fighter Apollo was.
Agreed. Apollo was amazing
Rocky fights on purpose… even if rocky doesn’t know it he wasn’t going to go 100% against Apollo
