I haven’t seen that but it’s wild to look back at the previous reviews when they trash the old version and talk about how great the new version is. When the proof that they loved previous versions is a click away.
Yeah it's why I take all these reviews with a grain of salt. They all accept free stuff from manufacturers so any "reviews" are a conflict of interest.
Just love these vids! Also never tire of seeing Thomas in shorts! Like you thought v1+2 sucked so really pleased to hear you digging v3! Thanks for getting this out quickly to increase FOMO for us all 😂
I had the first version, but it was too tight so I gave it away and bought the magic speed 2 while going half a size up. It has been amazing so far. I'm able to go fast in it while it stays comfy and reactive (I went sub 3min/km in this shoe). I did many tempo runs in it and it was great too. In my opinion, the second iteration of the magic speed receives a lot of unnecessary and subjective hate.
I agreed with Robbie on the 1st version - good enough, very light & snappy for tempo workout. I still have 2 pairs of the 1st version, so I won't be replacing them any time soon. 😎
Picked these up for €126 or around $136 USD and had my first run in them. My previous speed work shoe was the Saucony Endorphin Speed 3. It's remarkable how two shoes that are similar in so many ways still give a different sensation. I enjoyed my first run in the Magic Speed 3. In comparison to the Endorphin Speed 3 I'd say it's a little firmer, but also more pronounced in the forward roll-off. In the Saucony, I can still feel the shoe flattening out despite the nylon plate adding rigidity. The Asics Magic Speed 3 is a true carbon-plated trainer and really gives that sense you are getting pushed forward as the shoe isn't flattening out and is propelling you through the roll-off. I prefer the upper of the Asics to the Endorphin Speed 3. I also dislike the "wings" under the heel of the Endorphin Speed 3, but generally speaking the midsole in the Endorphin is a little more comfortable. I think, based on just the one run, I prefer the Asics Magic Speed 3 ever so slightly, although runners with wide feet should probably try before they buy as these shoes are somewhat narrow.
I LOVE my speed 2s. Only thing I'd change is a slight heel counter. They're my race shoe for marathons. So not sure how I feel about the description of the 3s.
i love the magic speed 3, great for tempo work, faster runs and really anything faster then a regular pace. Feels so smooth and stable. reminds me of a endophin speed 3 but just a better upper and better fit.
Asics is absolutely killing it with their lineup. Other than Nike, I feel you could now find an Asics for all of your runs. Nike can too but I think Asics is closing the gap
The Magic Speed has been such an interesting shoe over its iterations. I think it suffers from how it has been marketed to fit in a rotation versus how it actually feels and fits in a rotation. I think most people tend to think it is softer than it is, and in V2 that is the shoe’s fault for saying it has FF blast plus and not saying that that’s only the top layer of the midsole. I skipped V1, as everyone said it was too firm. I have a pair of V2. I like them more than the BITR crew, but they are not my fav’s. Probably because it’s a close as I can get to the edge and sky, as I wear a 14 those only go up to 13 (US). If these new V3’s are at all better than the predecessors, then I’ll probably get a pair
Please Help Me Im currently contemplating whether to get the new Asics Magic Dpeed 3 or the Vaporfly 2 for my racing shoes, my main concerns are, will there be much ride difference (bounce, energy return, etc,) and durability issues in Vaporfly 2 I would love a racing shoes that I can use occasionally during workouts without worrying it will degrade easily. I have never used any vaporflys, seeing many runners high praise of it make me very tempted tho (are they really that good, has significantly more energy return?) For now, Im currently leaning more towards the magic speed 3 because many reviews claim that the Vaporfly 2 break down in faster rate than normal shoes. if you have bad or good durability experience with your Vaporfly 2 please share it down below. And if both at the same price is it without a doubt the Vaporfly is the better deal regarding all my concerns? All opinions and experiences will be greatly appreciated 🙏
My pair arrived yesterday and I am disappointed with the quality control of these Asics! Glue everywhere and one stitch sticking out between the sole and upper.
The magic speed v1 was designed as a shoe you can race in, probably 5 or 10km really. Most super shoes are really only best on straighter courses. That's why the Takumi Sen and Magic Speed ect... have a place and fans out there. There's also the cost as shoes are getting super expensive as Under Armour and Hoka's new offerings are up in the £220 now. I don't know the cost of this but if someone could make a really good shoe with a soft midsole and some kind of plate for racing at the £150 they could do really well.
Please stop doing these kind of casual one takes . You guys just look out of it and the whole video carries no meaning at all . The first thoughts could’ve been a shorts or a sub 2 min instead of this incoherent mess . I noticed some time ago with first thoughts , one of you is more often than not caught off guard/dreaming/ loses the train of thoughts , today that person is robbie . What im saying is if you dont have much to say for your first impressions , condense your video instead .
For me, watching Robbe respond in these first impression videos like he's been woken up by a train guard at the terminus of the first train of the morning with only the vaguest memory of dancing to EDM for the last 6 hours is why I love these videos.
Robbe has I didn’t read the book but the book report is due in the morning vibes 😂
T: “Magic speed 3”
R: “Yes… the third one.”
And the duality of Robbe saying he liked v1 while Thomas is shaking his head in disapproval was great
Then forget it on the bus
Can u say it in english?
high-functioning autism spectrum disorder
What a mess, might be a good idea to plan what you’re going to say before making a video.
You guys both loved the Magic Speed 2 in your "first thoughts" video last year too.
All of these channels kind of kiss the rear end of the manufacturers and have short memories.

Their review of the magic speed 2 was mixed, said the endorphin speed was better. Are you thinking of the Metaspeeds?
@@gallowaymitchell no I'm saying that they loved it in their "first thoughts" video, not the final review. Go watch it.
Good morning. Thanks for this information about the Asics 2023. Like for Thomas and Robbe. A nice weekend for everyone. 🌞🏃🌞

Running channel meets Frasier meets 2 and half men - this channel.

I have to say, the shoe looks very good. Curious what pace is ideal for these
Pace ideals for shoes are entirely relative. The S4 was built for sub 4, but there is a reason it was a Japanese exclusive.
THE LEGEND IS BACK!!! Baby Hands, Normcore!!
I like when y’all are inside. I got distracted a couple time with those bushes
I’ve loved the Magic Speed v1’s! Light and snappy and good for shorter, interval workouts. But I may have to skip the 2’s and go for the 3’s!
Next full review please compare to magic speed1. I really love it. Thank you guys
Is this finally a legit Speed 3 and Deviate Nitro 2 challenger?
YES
I LOVE my speed 2s. Only thing I'd change is a slight heel counter. They're my race shoe for marathons. So not sure how I feel about the description of the 3s.
It looks almost exactly the same ... they are just being dramatic.
Don't understand why the hate. I can go slow and go fast with the shoe no problem! Mid to fore foot strike. Heel felt soft and bouncy. IMO
@@posthrdcore agree, I do speed workouts in MS2 and have also raced up to a marathon.
@iambrent It's all about the foam. I like a firm foam and low drop. As soon as people mention it's a softer ride i get scared.

I read it had a pebax plate .. are you guys sure? (Asics is where I read it)
We are sure it is full length carbon
@Believe in the Run hmm odd asics website wrong then . Thanks
@@fabsterun Who do you believe? The website says PEBAX plate
@@randenlewis152 ill see it myself when I have the shoes in hand 🤣

I wonder how this compares to the Asics S4. Aside from the foam (blast vs turbo), the two shoes look very similar.

"I feel like I keep stepping on...stu" "You Keep stepping on stuff."
Best "going long" so far! 🤣
From the looks of the shoe in my opinion it's better the 2nd version.
I think you meant Ray Lewis style. Ray Rice style coming out of the doors is something very different... 😅
The porta potty threw me off 😭
Is it softer than endorphin speed3 ?
The Runner's Limp walk :D
How would you compare this to the EvoRide Speed that dropped last month?
Japanese shoes with Japanese colours. Cant beat em ❤
Could you, at a pinch, race an HM in them? I'm targeting just under 1:34 ATM, ie 4:30/km pace.
Yep
My pair arrived yesterday and I am disappointed with the quality control of these Asics! Glue everywhere and one stitch sticking out between the sole and upper.
Yeah Robbie looks like just second ago stepped out of the night club after very heavy fun nite
These look beautiful and I just got the novablast 3😭 rip my wallet 😂
You didn't pay full price for a new colorway did you? 🤣
Seems like putting plates in “non-racers” is becoming more common. I like to have non plated fast shoes for training

$90 less
Better than streakfly?
Depends if you want soft and light or firmer and snappy

June 1
Robbe, King of Portapotty Shoe Toss

did Robbe lose his eye-sight?
He meant Ray Lewis
I honestly can't believe I said Ray Rice, smh
I only clicked like because it was 666 so I had to, but honestly Robbie was not feeling this shoe for sure. Streak & Takumi are trash so...
Wrong again. It’s a pebax plate which provides a different ride. It looks more like it will perform like a lighter propel v4.
Carbon plate.
