Great review, and it speaks to my experience with the Portal as well. I only play it in my house, mostly while my wife is sleeping. Also, I have the same issue, that even in rest mode I'll have to go to the living to manually enter into the menu, it's annoying and kinda defeats one of the big parts of the device. I agree as well with your tips, I think a issue for me is I don't have my PS5 with a LAN cable (will do it soon!) and I love physical copies, but the Portal is making me wish to get more digital games! Great video!
Getting mine tomorrow with case and protector. I also slapped a WD Black 850x 2tb in my PS5 As got alot of games to dl now Can I just say, your tattoos are also epic
I highly rate the portal. My wife and I play heaps of co-op games in the same room one on the tv and the other on the portal.. we both own a ps5. It's been great especially when the kids are in bed we can game and share the enjoyment on the same couch
So I have a steam deck which is great. But I miss playing ps games I can’t play on the deck…my son plays the ps5 but I wanna get this to play those games again. I would mostly use it just for home so I am on fence with mixed reviews on this but may pick up
@@Gamermaggie no, occasional stutter once in a while and sometimes it just doesn’t connect which in the month I had it or so I only experienced it once
@@krammis76 @krammis76 steam decks been in Australia for over a year now, I've got both and both are good but the ally is more powerful and looks better and is lighter, steam decks are too heavy and wide and the pads are awkward to use
Got mine last week my 2 kids bought it and I like it. I wish you could watch RUclips,Netflix etc but no complaints thus far.
hopefully we can watch it in the future! but pretty fun little handheld

i've always wanted a steam deck. i think the portal is worth it if you like playing a hand held!
Steam deck is awesome!! Just sucks you can’t play everything on it as easily but for what I play here & there if I have time I love it it’s worth it
I use my at work!! It’s fantastic
thats awesome. do you have any issues connecting it from work?

Get a rog ally I've had mine for a year it's been great
i will have to look into it! how much is it?
@@Gamermaggie it was 1100 from kogan but there is a new one out now I think its a bit more expensive, more battery life etc
@@Gamermaggie steam deck is getting released in australia finally. I reckon that's a better buy than the ROG Ally.
i will have to check both these out! i do love a good hand held!
