    The 2024 KTM 300SX two-stroke was an all-new bike last year, with a ground breaking throttle body fuel-injection system, electric start, electronic power valve, dual map options, all-new chassis, WP XACT air forks, and more. For a motocross-specific two-stroke, this bike has an ultra-smooth power character that makes it easy to lug in the corners, and has tons of power in the mid and high rpm range, pulling up to 55 horsepower. In this video, MXA test rider Connor Styers shakes down the bike and Josh Mosiman shares all the details we know about this bike after spending a year on the 2023 version.

    IMO , if the AMA was serious about growing the sport they would allow 150 2t in 250 class, and 300 2t in the 450 class.

      There is for sure several reason they wont, on reason is ecause the Honda - Kawasaki - Suzuki - japanese manufactures came to an agreement over 20 years ago not producing any more two strokes. So if they allow one single manufacture to enter he class with one bike under three different brads KTM - Husky - GasGas, the japanese would not be particular happy.

    It may be down 5 HP from the 450cc 4t, but it has more power/weight ratio, and much less engine parts/rotational mass/momentum - so that equals the bike being easier on your body to ride and manuever. This bike honestly felt amazing when I sat on it at the dealership - like an old boot or glove!
    However, I own a TM Racing 300cc 2t and Honda 450cc 4t, and enjoy the 4 stroke more! lol But boy, does it wear you out much quicker...the 300cc 2t feels like a magic carpet compared to the 450cc tractor after riding back to back! lol -And that's with a completely built/tuned engine, clutch, A kit suspension, GET ECU etc. on the Honda...and I TRIED to make it easier to ride for longer periods of time, but it just has too much rotational mass and torque inside the engine no matter what is altered...but the fun factor is there on both! 💪 Get out and RIDE! Praise you, JESUS! 🙌

    Hey man, do you guys need a 6'5 250 lb test rider? I'm a top 3 guy in my local vet pro class, sort of biased to Yamaha but I can go fast on literally anything. I've raced everything from a '95 cr250 to my 2021 yz250 with a 325cc big bore kit, to my 2003 yz450 I've dumped copious amounts of American dollars into to create the completely polished then transparent purple powdercoated frame, 20% nitro 80% c16 burning 77 horsepower monster it is today. A paddle tire is the only rear tire it sees these days because of all the one off custom machined parts my late grandfather and I made. I can't risk racing it and loosing what reminds my entire family of him. The old girl was his last big project and I gotta say he did the best work I think I've ever seen in my life. From the billet cylinder head to the billet piston with 12 tiny holes drilled in the top and special chamfered piston rings that allow oil to be what seals it up to create a virtually frictionless compression when oil pressure is introduced. It's by far and away the most violent and terrifying motorcycle I have ever ridden and I daily a 214whp R1m. It has absolutely nothing for my old yz up to about 100mph when 4th gear tops out. If someone can, let me know. I know more and more big dudes are riding these days and we have absolutely zero opinions because there's no test riders who are actually fast our size. That I've seen anyway. I have pretty damn decent whips l, as you can see from my profile picture, and people tell me I'm the nicest guy in the world. I'm not sure about that I think I'm kind of an asshole. But I enjoy being around like minded people and debating how Yamaha is and always will be the best manufacturer of on and off road motorcycles.

    In 2023 or even back in 2000 we should t even have arm pump from a clutch. I believe a clutch should be so easy to pull in it only takes a few lbs of pressure. Watch how that will happen in 5 years. They should just figure it out now and all the other faults with their bikes.

    How on earth can the AMA not allow this bike to compete with the 4T’s, it’s giving 50% engine away ffs!! Would love to see the AMA grow a pair and make its own rules instead of being ruled by the Japanese manufacturers

    i wish they wouldn’t smooth the power out on modern bikes … don’t people ride 2 strokes because they like that hard hit , taking it away is taking the piss

  • @zackk695
    @zackk695 9 месяцев назад

    I still don’t know who screwed up this sport but it’s just common sense that if it’s a 125 it should race in that class, 250 in its class and 450 in the 500 class. Whoever came up with this idea really had a screw loose. They won’t let the 2 strokes ride in their class because they would literally smoke the 4 strokes. Well to damn bad. Whatever agreement the manufacturers made can be undone. It’s time and we’ve had enough of those 4 strokes. The 2 stroke is a true motor cross racing machine and just because they have to make the motors 50% larger on the 4 strokes just to compete is ridiculous. To damn bad if they can’t race their class against the 2 strokes. The Doug Henry winning the event on a Yamaha that was actually a 450 in the 250 class was also a stupid move. Doug Henry was riding great and would have won on 2 strokes. The 4 strokes caused the fan base to be non existent. We have to reach the kids and the sound of a 4 stroke to a kid is no different than listening to a lawnmower. If KTM was smart they would put their top riders on a 300 2 stroke KTM and race the 450 class and they would easily win

      Steve Whitelock of the AMA and whoever was running the MXGP's in the late 90's (Giovanni something or other?). They're the ones who pushed for the 4 strokes - especially the displacement limits.

    • @zackk695
      @zackk695 3 месяца назад

      @@kentr2424 That’s true and look what it did to the sport. They can be easily taken over. The sport should be 2 strokes only which are true race bikes. The limits your referring to should have been limiting the size engine used in racing and only equal cc motors race against each other but then they started allowing the 450’s to race the 250 class in the pros because the 250 2T would smoke the shit out of a 250 4T. It wasn’t fair then and still isn’t right. Now you have racers not even running bikes wide open due to 4T having power on the low end so it’s not even racing. When you watch 2 strokes race they are on the pipe and running hard. There are 2 Sonos is still making the 2 stroke out of the 4 but this is all up to Honda. Honda is the biggest name and if they were to release a new line of 2 strokes on the newer frames then there would be a year waiting list to get these bikes and they would easily win in the expert and pro class

      theoretically, you could bring a CR 500 2T to the gate drop in a local race. It's technically the 250 Open A/B/C (at least around here). but for national stuff like loretta's and AMA pro racing, it's not allowed on the track.

    2bangas rule any cc. Funny how 450cc 4strokes were allowed to race in 250cc 2stroke ama racing which ruined alot of the excitement of motocross racing, it ended up changing names of classes and 300cc aren't allowed. 450s aren't winning extreme hard enduro because most are on 150-300cc 2bangas as they're heaps quicker, lighter and reliable. Bring back the excitement. I'm on 2018 husqvarna te300 last of carby models, it's a rocket ship animal, so exciting to ride. Avagud1
