Orange Empress as Wetspot marketed them. Hikari or Y30 in Japan. Platinum blue strains can be very costly in Japan. I could grow Medaka in my Shubunkin tubs all year round but can't find them. Rejoice when I see a new Clean Dean video. Y'all enjoy Peru.

Absolutely loved this video Cory. I loved Dean and his fish room. Can't wait to see more videos with you both in them. Loved the freeze dried fish feeder bell shaped item.. I'd like to try to make one or two of them. Thank you for another great video Cory.
I have question for Dean, ask him if he remembers the old Dynaflo filters. I picked 1 up in a New York City pet shop in the late 60s, and brought it back to our rural hick town and nobody had ever saw 1 before.
This man is legendary!! Please video the making of the Dean Food Contraption or better yet, just let me know when it’s available for purchase. #I❤️Dean #Aquariumcooplove
Angelfish are quite a surprise, was a maniac group of new fish, handsome devils. The blues almost look fake, they are so nice looking. I have 2 gold marbles and 2 ghosts.
Yo Cory I’m coming by the pet shop this coming week what’s the deal on the discus and some pairs of mosaic guppies please hook it up coming out from Tigard oregon
I don't believe we have any discus in stock. As we use those tanks for koi during the summer. Since most people don't buy Discus during the summer as they vacation. As for mosiac guppies. I'm not sure what we have in stock for guppies currently. I fly out this weekend for Peru so I'm not in tune with the fish we have.
Aquarium Co-Op I will be there this week heading out Thursday so on my way home I’m stopping by been watching u on RUclips for a while and now I wanna see the store and the puffer in person lol see ya hopefully lol if not I will see the shop

Loving Dean's fishroom video by video. He's just so good at what he is doing, everything has a reason, everything is where it's supposed to be. Plus I love the fish he keeps.
Have you looked into fancier variations of ricefish? I have seen koi variations and variations with an iridescent strip on their back, but I'm wondering if they have made it over to the US yet.
I love those and have been looking! I’ve seen those strains for sale in Germany and Italy, but not here in Spain. Nobody in the US has them yet, as far as I know.
Hi, I spent some time out in Colorado Springs and got to work with a "Master Angelfish " guy, I believe his name as Phil Prather ? He died quite a while back. He had several lines of Leopard Lace Veil-tail Angels going , and some Marble and Golds. He also went down to S.A for fish and tried to teach me about the wild caught angels and how to breed em into the various lines. As my military career progressed , I sold off the remainder of his fish and gear that I had purchased . About 1995 I got out to Mt View/Sunnyvale CA ( SF Bay Area ) and saw some fantastic 1/2 Blacks for sale out there. I always wondered if the various regional lines have crossed paths . Did some of Phils fish get all the way out to CA ??? At his height, he had a place in Denver that ran about 150 tanks and about 1500 a month sales . He was always trying for the perfect line of Half Black Lace Veil-tails. That would have been back about the mid eighties. It would be cool to see the various lines and where they started .
I just find Dean’s knowledge and passion so infectious I don’t even own a single fish but when I watch Dean talking about his husbandry I can imagine myself having a fish room.
I don't even keep fish anymore due to my living situation and I still watch every video, trying to soak up as much info as possible. Can't wait to see the DIY food trap video. Thanks, Dean and Cory, for the A++ content!
I was listening to this as I worked in tanks. Today, just going through with hands in the water, looking for any issues or pending issues. Stuff like; a wafer lodged in a plant where it can't be eaten, potted plant turned over, any odors - never a hobbyist's friend. Then, I heard Dean say the two most important words a fish keeper can say. "I'm learning". He said this about algae, "I'm learning a lot about algae". This says so much about his relationship with the hobby, his attitude toward the science of keeping fish, and that he is in a learning situation and open to new information. How exciting! (I've kept fish continuously for 57 this summer. I learn and unlearn all the time. Never stagnant) Breaking algae wafers is something I've done for a while. I currently use Omega One wafers as it really has algae. All my fish eat it, both fresh and salt water. Even the big puffers love to snap the whole wafers and devour them. Great vid.
This may be a really dumb question, but when he describes his “reset” process, how does he get the new tank cycled? Does the frequent large water changes once the fish are in make the cycle process obsolete?
Always love seeing Dean's fishroom! I also think Fool's Gold would be an awesome name for that fish very catchy! (pun totally intended!) Can't wait to see your adventures in Peru!
Of all the fish rooms I've seen on RUclips, Dean's is by far my favorite. The awesome and efficient setup and the combination of fish, as well as how tidy and clean, together with his little innovations..... I'm jealous 😆
Just a quick comment on Dean's feeding bells. I remember the Miracle range of freeze dried foods in the late 1960's and they produced and sold feeding bells very similar to those Dean is using. I found them very useful and would be interested in seeing how they are made...
Here in England, drinking tea is a necessity. I use loose leaf, and strain it. There are several types. They work with all frozen food and some pellets. Search tea strainer for a suuprise)
OMG!!! These videoa with Dean, also with Gary, are the BEST! I can watch them 10 times and still learn. Thank you so much guys for this once again AMAZING video. 👌
I definitely love the "catfish" tabs. They are perfect for omnivores that don't eat veggies easily. I use them for Otos, Cory's, Plecos, Tiger Barbs, swords, my hillstream loaches, literally everything will eat them. If you can feed a lot of live foods, balance the diet with this and it helps to build mass on the fish. Definitely fun to feed and I like them a lot better than the algae disks from hikari.
I have don't quarantined my fish I don't have anoyher tank or the room to do so anyways. And I have never bought a test kit in my 20 years of keeping fish . I justl never botherd with it. I do two water changes a week to keep the water clean and to help keep the ammonia down . My fish are all happy and healthy . Only if I didn't have hardy fish would I use a test kit . I will take a sample of water to be tested at the pet store when I go though . So far my water has been good . I'm trading all my rainbow fish this weekend for 4 large angels .. I have two already.
I find that LED bulbs produce less algae than a normal 60 watt bulb, cause one of my lamps causes algae to grow on one side of one of my tanks, try a white spectrum LED bulb. I use less intense lighting on my freshwater tanks, no live plants. I only use full lighting for saltwater to grow coraline algae. Dean's RO/DI water system is intense, like what is all that plumbing for ?. Water changes I suppose that, what a monster water filter. Mine just taps into the cold water pipe, wow.
Whats a good mix of food for these? I'm trying to breed mine, they do lat eggs every 3 weeks, but its like 100% infertile. We have them on Live Daphnia, Frozen Bloodworms, Tetra Bits and Goat Liver Mix. TDS-15-20(Rain Water)

Hello Sir!!! One of my koi angelfish lost her ventral fin! She will get her ventral fin back??? Or any other treatment is there for getting her ventral fin again. Please reply... I'm so much tensed!!!
I was thinking the same thing. Because gouramis interact with you, by following your finger or squirting water at you when you feed them. I've only owned dwarf and honey varieties. If i had place for more tanks i' d get a sparkling. gourami
Can I buy Angles from you Sir ?? I trust you and the way you do things.. So, I would much rather buy from you than anywhere else.. I live in Virginia.. If you don't sell, where would you recommend getting them from ?? I only put the word see in parentheses because plants do not have eyes. lol I am not making fun of Corey, just to make that clear.
I used to breed Angels, and partly out of laziness, always left fry with the parents. I had a whole lot less problems with their fins. Another theory was that the fry would learn parenting skills having been raised naturally.

that thing is just a typical floating worm feader, turned upside down and a metal ring glued in to make it sink. But yes, it's a good ideea.

I already know how to make it.
