In the context of resurrection, returning would make sense of being back with the Lord, in the temple, in his Eden, etc. I wouldn't take this on a literal/individual level. Whenever we talk of "restoration" there's a sort of "returning" to the way things are supposed to be. That's what God's people have to look forward to.
