Yeah that's true & it's all the more remarkable in Viggo's case because I also feel in order to truly maximise the potential growth in terms of popularity & being known by people outside the sport you gotta be able to speak English to a respectable degree at the very least. This is something clearly lacking in some asian badminton athletes whom are already huge in their own sport but can be much bigger globally if they put in a little bit more effort into being able to communicate in English without the need for translation when they're interviewed. The amazing thing with Viggo is his mastering of Mandarin has greatly helped his outreach in the Chinese market which remains the single biggest market in badminton all while having incredible command of English & Danish which helps in global appeal.
