Some years back I watched a RUclips video recommending text-only designs because they usually generated higher sales, which seemed counterintuitive.

I’ve watched a few of your videos and one question I’m dying to know is, - Should I even spend my time trying to post in the popular niches like “camping” and so on if I am just starting out in P.O.D. ? In another video you suggested searching out those popular niches. Secondly, I’m also wondering, if I have great and new slogans if it might still be beneficial to produce content using the popular niches?
    I’m probably going to end up trying both popular and less used niches. Could I get your thoughts on all this?

    • @GregGottfried
      @GregGottfried  Год назад

      Glad you're making your way through the important POD videos (this one and the full tutorial one), they cover most of everything you should need. As for getting paid, Amazon will send you a direct deposit, but I do believe you could elect to have a check mailed to you each month. When looking at the other big POD sites, each of the sites does payments their own way, however across the board you will be paid either automatically direct deposit to your bank each month, automatically paid to your PayPal each month, or funds build up in your account and you can choose how often you want to withdraw them either into PayPal/Payoneer/direct deposit. I hope that helps clarify 👍

    This may be a super ignorant question, but I imagine when a person is looking for a specific sub-niche on a shirt, wouldn't they search for both words, like "lineman shirt"? In the video, lineman shirt had high competition, even though lineman doesn't. Have you found that it makes a difference either way?
    Another question - do you only look at the Amazon search numbers? For example, future lineman had 2523 searches, but Google only had 10 searches. Does that matter?

      Some of the information it pulls from will be non clothing products from Amazon, so it’s not necessarily accurate as an F rating - same as when it’s an A - it might be reading from a lot of clothing options and not other products. I think the keyword search is the most potentially accurate.

    • @GregGottfried
      @GregGottfried  Год назад

      Great question. It’s different for every keyword variation because the data is based on the keyword exactly how it is. So I’m this case, you’d want to use just lineman. @GregGottfried  Год назад +4

      Excellent question. In short, I recommend following the Keyword Finder (using the "low" sub-niches). The competition checker is geared towards overall niches, so the rating system doesn't prefer the low amount of traffic, but as the large overall niches fill up it's time to look for the sub-niches. Hope that helps clarify!

      Thanks for the comment and great question. Yes, we want to use the exact keyword. So in this case we would focus on just lineman because it’s the low competition keyword. Hello Greg, that's great! However, I'm doing things upside down: I'm an illustrator who created some designs that look cool and now I find myself trying to "squeeze" my designs into sub-category niches. Do I just have to type down and attach the low-competition keywords (closely related of course) to my designs in the process of maximizing the views?

    Hi, Greg, I have one simple question. When you find a good niche, and Merch informer confirms that is an A or B, do you create designs for that niche only for one day, for ex. 30,40, 50 designs, or you go all in and create high quality designs in that niche for days, like hundreds of designs? With merch informer it's easy to find good niches but I'm not sure should I create designs in that niche today, for ex. 50 and then move on to next profitable niche, or do a few days worth of work in a single profitable niche?

    • @GregGottfried
      @GregGottfried  Год назад +1

      Great question. I recommend trying to cover as many of the low competition niches as possible. I don’t usually spend more than a day making designs in a sub-niche. As many designs as you can then move on to the next one, that will keep you we’ll diversified and cover a lot of ground. I hope that helps!

    Hi Greg, The trouble I have come up with is once I find a sub niche Placeit doesn't always recognize that niche and there are no designs available even for popular occupations, weird! also once you make a design the resolution of the image you make on PLACEIT is also low or small , how do you get the high resolution images ? thank you

    • @Throb1
      @Throb1 Год назад +1

      I had that problem with placeit images until I realized that I was dragging and dropping the thumbnail and not downloading the actual image. Make sure that you are clicking download, then you should see the full quality images. Hope that helps!

    • @GregGottfried
      @GregGottfried  Год назад

      Not all Canva elements are copyright-free, so I don’t recommend it for print on demand. Placeit is a much better tool for POD because it’s 100% copyright-free.
