  • Acupuncture is still not widely popular in North America. Therefore as an Acupuncturist living in Canada, I get asked many questions about my profession. Therefore I decided to make a video regarding the below:
    What is Acupuncture? 0:11
    What does it treat? 0:30
    Why does it work? 0:58
Are there Risks and Side-effects? 4:42
    Is it Painful? 5:13
At last I will needle myself, and stay alive! 5:35

Glad I found your channel. My accupuncturist is my primary care doctor. She keeps me well. I tell everyone about it. It is very effective for me, although I think it is more effective for some than others. I also see a chiropractor regularly. I do not go to western doctors. I am a retired medical professional!

      Interesting statement 🙏.
What's your main reason for not visiting Wester doctor?.
I've been battling Hyperthyroidism for the past few years.
So far my treatment of taking Carbimazole for the past few years still hasn't brought my hormones down, I refused "RAI" treatment.

@@sebastianliwinski222 Sometimes Western medicine is necessary but I find regular sessions with my acupuncturist keeps me well. Western med philosophy primarily relies on drug therapy & a symptomatic quick fix without often seeking/addressing the true cause of bodily dysfunction. I prefer to regularly encourage harmony/wellness within my body with regular acupunture treatment. I believe the body is meant to heal itself, given time and acupuncture sets it up optimally to do this.

@@sebastianliwinski222 I also don't go to western, or eastern doctors for that matter. Reason? I haven't got sick enough (yet).

I go for my first treatment next year as a last resort to this chronic muscle tension. Thanks for better explaining it. I question the qi theory but releasing nerves and endorphins makes more sense.

Thanks Jonathan. In the clinics that I work in Canada, there are physiotherapists, massage therapists, naturopaths, kinesiologists and chiropractors. I think the team approach really helped a lot of the patients since we all have different expertise.
