Montessori has been doing this for about 150 years lol I love that more people are finally waking up to the fact that letter names and order of the alphabet is pretty useless and arbitrary

I know! I had a student join my class that barely spoke English but I needed to get her up to speed quickly so I strictly focused on letter sounds over the names. She needs to be able to use the letters, not recite them in a song 😜

I should mention this was when I taught first grade, she needed to learn quickly so she could start doing some basic activities with the kids
