    DN was my signature scent in the mid 80's- I still own it in its current formulation(s), but it's simply a shadow of its former self. Ordered this Dakar- this is the shit. Could not believe my nose when I sprayed it on. THIS is what DN used to smell like. The proof? My wife came down the stairs and only got halfway when she blurted out "Oh my God, you used to wear that!" Case closed. You just had to be there to know.

    Have both of these, as you said it's apparently similar to the old formulation of drakkar noir. Definitely different to the current formulation. Especially in the opening, very green in the opening. Really like it. It's like they've dropped all these great top notes from current formulations of fragrances and just tamed them all down. This is very similar to precious pearls take on drakkar noir. And this company always do pre reformualtions. Prefer the oils to the edps when it comes to Al rehab. Must do a review of it myself sometime. The Lord is a ted lapidus clone but I prefer the Milton Lloyd one. My favourite Al rehab is Sultan. Thanks for the indepth review!!

      Sir Smell-A-Lot the oils are crazy strong I couldn’t believe it when I could still get the scent of dakar the next day after wearing it, upon first whiff of Milton Lloyd I could tell it was a quality product, they are the only Kouros clone I could find. I’m going to wear it for a bit then review it. Thanks for commenting and for the info dude much appreciated!

    Precisely described sir!
    To me it could qualify as a flanker of DN more than a clone, its deep warm and green ,But that Oud note doesnt fit well between those cold greens and drags the whole composition far from Drakkar noir, but its a very good smell.
    Others i've experienced are :
    Lord (would not like to spoil your first experience )
    Silver (same as for lord)
    Al fares = Aspen + eternity
    Sultan = Cedar dominant scent
    secret man = Kenzo PH
    White musk = Inky tones with musk
    Choco musk = dark Chocolate

    This one disappointed me. It must be my skin, but what comes out very strong are the spice notes. I feel like I've doused myself in kitchen spices. You are right about this one lacking the aftershave freshness that DN has. The dry down of this is better on me and becomes more soapy and clean. This I like. I've used only the roll on. I may give the spray version a try given it's low price.
    As always, great job on another well-done review. You are definitely my favorite fragrance channel - thank you!

Dakar has that deeper earthly almost at times gasoline scent which is not the as clean or fresh as Drakkar noir, almost like its rougher predecessor lol.
