- This is a short list of fragrances that remind me of one of my all time favorites - Drakkar Noir by Guy Laroche. All of these fragrances have their own individual differences that make them stand out but they all seem to have their basis in the drakkar dna !
I did forget to mention Lomani Pour Homme
Lolol I remember Drakkar Noir used to be my Uncles fav back in the 90s. This shit was NUCLEAR i distinctly remember it!

Taxi smells just like drakkar i got this also try bowling greens cologne it smells like drakkar to try the belcam drakkar at Wal-Mart they smell very good
onr detailing news I didn’t like the belcam classic match Drakkar I thought it was close to the scent in the opening but then had this vanilla accord that didn’t remind me Drakkar at all, taxi is great though!

Preferred stock has a Drakkar vibe to it. It’s by house Coty who also makes Stetson and gravity. Can you do a review on gravity and preferred stock sometime? Those are underrated classic masculine scents. Keep up the great work
Preferred stock does have some similarities to Drakkar noir but not nearly as good I had it and gave it away lol

I love this stuff. Definitely my all time favourite oldie. It still smells so relevant today and I can still wear it. Always had the non cosmairs but I finally picked up a 90-2000’s cosmair bottle and it was my purchase of the year for 2023 for sure 😁

Vic Zampa Scents that’s what I hear ! I’m weary about spending the money on a vintage and getting the bottle and having it smell like the sport tonic spray or the Ungaro Pour l’homme III I got which was a bad bottle had that same vinegar smell. I’m blessed with the perfect vintage Caesars though I can’t praise that cologne enough I love it. Green fir balm Drakkar noir

Hi Kelan, would you recommend the Drakkar deodorant stick? Wondering if you have any experience with it? Or the shower gel?
I love both the deodorant stick which I use daily and it works very well along with the shower gel which smells fantastic and helps with layering the scent for better performance
My first ever cologne, Drakkar Noir, way back when. Haven't tried it for years. I did pick up a Taxi, as I'm fan of the parfumeur, Mark Buxton. Good for the price. But Fougère l'Aube by Rogue is now my favorite of the class. Thanks for the review.

Bruno Giambroni I first tried Caesars with buying the new version, it’s made in China distributed by palm beach something cosmetics, its brown color, cap has no detail, does not say legendary, smell pretty good but nothing like the original which I love lol and it lasts about 20 minutes whereas the original is an all day scent, thanks for watching dude!
Bruno Giambroni and absolutely get your hands on Duc De Vervins it’s amazing, I prefer the L’Extreme version but they both are great

hi dear...i'm from Sardinia , italy...i love the drakkar noir fragrance too...i have a new version but ,you know, is not so similar to the old one...i want to ask you...when you talk about similar fragrances , you compare it to the new drakkar noir or to the old??...
Some are closer to the nee version some are closer to the old, but current Drakkar noir is not that different from the vintage I believe. Thank you for watching and commenting !

Thanks for this comparative review! I have DN, Taxi, and Dakar (spray) and seem to reach for Dakar most often. I’ve read that Rasasi Royale is in this zone...have you tried it? Enjoy your channel, BTW!

Drakkar Noir doesn't mess around. Definitely a powerhouse. Akthar Noir is one of few knockoffs that for a lot less smells almost exactly alike. and then you mentioned it while I was typing this. haha.
Armored Saint yeah the body wash smells pretty good that’s all I have from it but it is very close to Drakkar but I’d always go with Drakkar lol

Willie Ortiz Drakkar noir really is lol out of all the scents that smell like it Caesars man is the only one I like just a little bit more, but Drakkar is a good medal men’s cologne for sure, hope you enjoyed the video
Just purchased a dn gift set 2020 release for 23gbp , bargain price but found it to be a very watered down reformulation. Becomes a skin scent very quickly, tested on back of hand but have to really put my nose to it to smell it .
Plus they seam to have taken away the leathery note ,smells more like bowling green by Geoffrey beene which is a great cheapy and very long lasting.
I still get good performance from the current formula, I recently finished a bottle of a 2017 a few months back. Maybe it’s weaker now but it still smells great. I only have vintage bottles of it left. Thank you for watching and commenting Kevin !

I want to buy again Drakkar noir but I know that the reformulation killed him. What of these clones is more similar to DN and what of them has the best performance? Or is better if I continue to buy the reformulation of DN? Thank you.
My family is from foggia also in Puglia, sorry for the late reply, the best Drakkar noir clone that has great performance is Dakar by Al-rehab but I also really like the current formulation of Drakkar noir personally so you can’t go wrong with either option, thank you for watching and commenting, stay safe !
With the spring and summer months approaching soon (especially here in AZ), I'm curious on your recommendations on scents that you like for warmer to hotter weather.
Armored Saint I will definitely make a video for that I have some idea lined up already, it’s just still cold here in jersey waking up to 25 degrees weather, so many reviewers will make season lists well before the season starts I probably will wait until it’s a little warmer here for those so stay tuned dude !

Armored Saint I have purchased a few and only two have been in good condition the others I have purchased have gone bad and have the same vinegar smell to them, it’s a real gamble so be prepared to return them
Love your videos. I'm from Delco PA..and I lived in Camden co for 10 yrs. I love Drakkar too, I have since I was like 12. What are your thoughts on Horizon? I love it, but it seems like I'm the only one lol.

I can’t speak on horizon I personally have never tried it I read a review that it is like a blue shower gel scent much like Drakkar noir essence which if that is the true case I would not be in a hurry to try it but I could be wrong, what is the profile like on horizon ?
Scents Of South Jersey I don't get that at all. It's not aquatic, I would describe it as oceanic..like being at the bottom of the ocean. It's refreshing, dark, salty and gloomy at the same time. You get the pepper..fennel and oak moss. Very good performance as well.

Scents Of South Jersey no problem bro. Not sure about the aftershave etc. I got a 50 ml bottle from Fragrancenet for under $6 (unboxed) they must have a shit-ton of them lol. And if you check their EBay store..you can't get it with free shipping.

Is there any fragrances similar to Old Spice Original ? I’m an old school fragrance collector, and old spice original EDT is one of my favourite. It’s extremely difficult for me to find Old Spice in my area. This is Sad !
Mohammad Alahmadi you know I’m not sure I have not smelled old spice original in so long but I’ve read obsession by ck is similar and Jaïpur Homme are similar, you might like PS fine cologne by paul Sebastian as well
True that. PS is like a rich man's old spice, more refined. Tabac (1959) EdC Made in Germany is as good or better than Old Spice. in my opinion.
Another that I haven't purposely smelled that I know of but think I remember reading about as smelling like a "richer" Old Spice is Rive Guache.

It's a real mystery why Guy Laroche didn't come up with more concentrated flankers for Drakkar Noir since its huge success years ago. How about Drakkar Noir EDP or Drakkar Noir Intense? Would people jump on them? I know I would in a hearbeat especially because the EDT just doesn't perform after refomulations.
UltraSupra I would love it if that happened and who knows why that has not happened yet good point. Make it stronger and more like the original formulation.

I just bought a bottle of og formula drakkar noir with a 1987 date code. If you think you know what drakkar noir smells like by that current formula, YOU HAVE NO IDEA.
I am absolutely amazed at all these cool non-mainstream fragrances you find. Great content per usual. How do you feel about JPG Le Male. I know you aren’t into sweets but I get some Drakkar vibes with obviously some added vanilla sweetness. What is you sotd for valentines also?
Brett so JpG la male was one of the only colognes I wore for years from like 2011-2016 I loved that scent I would go to night clubs at the shore with My friends every summer all summer and I killed bottle after bottle of la male, it’s sweet but not overly sweet and women loved it. I have a soft spot for la male it was my party scent and work scent etc so two thumbs up for that one for sure dude I just back burner’ed it for the past few years. For Vday I’m going with kouros I think ! Hbu ?
Scents Of South Jersey I think I am going to go with D&G The One edt (the original). I was thinking Armaf CDNIM but a little too sharp. Love Kouros. Funny you mention the shore. My wife is from NJ but we live on west coast now. Plan is to move back to NJ at some point.
Brett that’s pretty funny, the shore in the summer is a melting pot of cologne at the clubs lol. I’m looking to pick up a Kouros Fraicheur bottle soon I hear it’s awesome for the spring summer and I own mostly cold-ish weather scents aside from the classic italian barbershop colognes I have
I had one bottle of D&G the one edt in 2008 in college I killed the bottle it was a great scent

Got the Yacht Man Chocolate. smells to me like rochas man all over again. Nice off the top but nose blind to it in 5 minutes. Other reviewers on Basenotes and fragrantica compare it to Armani Code which I have never knowingly smelled or that I don't see covered in your video titles. Good enough for that low price.
Armored Saint yes at least it was an inexpensive scent, glad you enjoy it for the most part. I have not worn code since like 2006 so I have not sampled it in a long while. I had a tj maxx store brand called spice voyage and it was identical to code, I gave it away

What I Should do is buy samples of Azzaro original, Paco Rabanne, Chanel Egoiste, Habit Rouge, commonly known ones that I have never knowingly smelled as far as I know, THEN branch out to some others. Those "common" ones keep gnawing at my mind. Like I said before, I'm somewhere in the middle, not a greenhorn (beginner) but also no millionaire.
Armored Saint azzaro Pour Homme I am not a fan of at all I owned it and returned it, paco Rabanne Pour Homme is amazing just buy that one same with Chanel Egoiste. Haven’t tried rouge
I'm buying samples at the perfume box website now. at around page 9 out of 20 they all say "sold out" but I'm lucky that all or almost all the ones I wanna try are within the first ten pages: they don't have Egoiste, (bummer). I'm getting: azzaro pour homme, paco rabanne pour homme, habit rouge, bvlgari black (wanna see if I smell that new tires, rubber note), declaration d'un soir, and royal copenhagen, which your review of I'm going to watch after this. All 6 for about 22 dollars.

Found it. I remember Drakkar from back in the day and only stumbled onto Duc a couple years ago. Resemblance is definately there- whereas the Duc is a bit more classy& sophisticated and Drakkar is the uncivilzed raw diamond

Where do you apply cologne and how many sprays?
Bobby Bobson wrists neck chest, sometimes on clothes and it depends on the fragrance in terms of how many sprays but I tend to apply a lot lol
ay if ya look like a vampire ya gotta smell like a vampire the ladies love it, well to be honest i was jugglin a few women last time i went out and i was wearing nautica voyage smellin like a cucumber so if anything i actually think these strong classics might turn some girls off while the fresh inoffensive stuff might work for all of them, i do me tho its more about the way i feel about myself that effects my courage yano, i know women these days prefer the smeeter caramel smelling stuff like versace eros etc but i dont wanna smell that shit unless im at a bakery or somethin lol

The vintage Cosmair Drakkar is gorgeous- uplifting minty lemony verbena then settles into dark alluring rosemary heaven. Luxury Products LLC SUCKS. smells like a raw Michelin tire. Rubbery flat linear garbage. Zero lemony top. No mint. No transition. No quality. No heavenly experience. Even if the LP LLC has a decent performance the aromatic dna has no match on the character of the 90's Cosmair with the '16th place' address on it & batch codes starting with U. Early 80s DN's were ok- they were darker more a patchouli bomb rather than magical like the 90's bottles. I almost passed up experiencing the magic of Drakkar Noir as I first owned the modern day version & early 80's versions. I swear Cosmair MASTERED all the vintage formulas- they did the same to Polo when they took over and made the EDT!
