My girlfriend recently introduced me to (what I’m calling) the rolling pin technique, just roll the hard boiled egg along like you were flattening a dough and the shell practically peels itself! Will have to pit this trick up against hers. Thanks Kevmo!
Thanks Kevmo. I have been chilling water in the freezer so I will try cold tap water next batch. The peel after a minute in cold water worked great on a 10 or 11 minute egg.
I can write a book about all the techniques I’ve used to peel a hard boiled egg! The frustration is too much! I hope this hack works on brown eggs as well!
Cracking them fully after theyre cool enough and peeling under running water is the best. The running water gets between the shell and egg and almost peels it for you.
its actually easier to unpeel it in the pot under the water. peel a little spot then give the egg a squish so that water gets between the shell and egg. then the egg simply pushed out the opened/ peeled end.
Try bringing the water to a light rolling boil first, then gently drop each egg in with a spoon being careful not to damage the shell. Boil for 15-18 minutes and then cool under cold water for 2-5 minutes. No need to crack, the eggs should all have a decent separation between the white and shell. I do this with an entire dozen sometimes and they store for weeks cooked, ready to crack and eat. I personally prefer adding the eggs after the water reaches a boil to mitigate the partial/incremental cooking process during the heat-up phase of the boil. 15-18 minutes seems to be the sweet spot for most eggs when introduced to the water once its already boiling.
I do it like this also, except I do not crack the shell in several places. I dump the hot water, then I run cold water in the pan with all the eggs. I then choose an egg and crack the shell once and then I proceed to take the shell off under the running cold water. Works great!
Another good trick is using older eggs. I live on a farm and we have to let the eggs sit for at least a week before we do this. Laid fresh that day eggs are very difficult to peel
I eat so many eggs; I bought one of those little egg cooker-steamer things and it’s greatly improved my happiness and decreased my stress 😂 I have tried every “make eggs easy to peel” method out there, and none were consistently working for me; especially when I realized I prefer my hard boiled eggs just a touch jammy.
Or just smash it (not too hard) on a flat surface and roll it with the same pressure on your hand, been doing it for years and still works the best for me.
Thanks Kev Normally, I would put them very carefuly in simmering water for 10 /10,30mn I always have the same issue, my eggs jumping like the best moment of their lifes :p not me Putting them from scratch with cold water for 10min, does it help from avoiding them jumping??
Another way is to steam them. 11 minutes for soft center, 13 minutes for well done. Into cold water like this - Peels like a champ! Stole this one from Alton Brown. ;)
Another cool hack is to take a thumb tack and poke a small hole on the bottom. Lets air escape and you will never have cracked, green yolks, or sulfer smelling eggs again. I learned that one from the great Jaques Pepín
There’s a little pocket of air between the shell and embryo at what would be considered the “top” of the egg. Start there and keep peeling under running water. Perfect eggs every time!
if you put a giant handful of salt into the water before you boil them like way too much for eating literally a handfull, it stops the shell sticking to the egg they peel easy then
Am I the only one who doesn't feel it's a hack because this is how I have been peeling off boiled shell since childhood..and everyone in my neighborhood does the same
The absolute truth. Seen people do salt, vinegar, all kinds of stuff that can work. But you’ll notice there is an inner film between the shell and the egg, and the cold water shocks that lining into not sticking to the egg. Cold water is the key my friends. And if you want a soft boiled egg, wait until the water is already simmering, drop the eggs in with a spoon and set the timer for 8 minutes instead
I strongly disagree with the part about putting them in cold water. This causes the membrane to coagulate with the egg. Boil the water first and lots of it, so it doesn’t stop boiling. Also, older eggs peel more easily than fresh.
Great hack!!! Thank you SO MUCH!!!! No more calloused thumbs!!! I love you!
All good video. After the crack, rinse under light, running cold waer to remove shell faster. Enjoy.
Wow. Finally something that works! Thanks man!
Just in time to make a bunch of deviled eggs thanks Kevmo!
Good tip, Adding A couple teaspoons of baking soda to the water while they boil seems to always help me as well…..
First hack I tried that actually worked great video

bro yes! once entire egg is rolld & shell all crackd, gently twist off shell w both hands as u would a bottle cap
Yeah, but it only works with hard boiled eggs
@@user-ot1ut7kp1w 😹😹😹😹
Brilliant idea and thankyou for that , hard to get white eggs in Australia , they were good to dip in food colouring during Easter many years ago .
I really appreciate you and your channel you created.
Thanks Kevmo. I have been chilling water in the freezer so I will try cold tap water next batch. The peel after a minute in cold water worked great on a 10 or 11 minute egg.
I recently learned this other method where you make a lil hole with a needle at the "bottom" of the eggs. it works great :)
I love watching your videos. Thanks for the tip ❤
Kevmo, you a cool dude mang.
Giving us the best videos year round, what a treat. Happy holidays everyone!
Kev's the best! Just giving us all the secrets!!
I can write a book about all the techniques I’ve used to peel a hard boiled egg!

Wow… I was today years old when I learned. Thank you so much!

Ok I was trolling you at first but this tip was op ong.. I salute you and im not worthy this time 🤲
Start a go fund me for uncle kev to get his own food truck🥺
Why because he showed you how to peel a hard boiled egg easy just like the hundreds of videos on RUclips before this one 😂😂😂😂
@@yourmommasentme6544 because ive been subscribed to him for months and he used to work at a food truck before he got on with this restaurant.
@@chancebrown98 he still has the food truck lol 🤣🤣🤣
@@yourmommasentme6544 its not his is it? Didnt he just work at onr
Back at work?

Very nice.
Informative
This worked thank you!
That’s the best way to do it!
I try it. Thank you 👍👍👍
Old school vibes 🤙
Tap it with a spoon hear a slit crack then boil shell comes right off😊
I was JUST making an egg sandwich and came across this vid!! Wish i saw it earlier!😅
I'm peeling with a table spoon, it's really fast and clean
My new favorite video ever.
I eat so many eggs; I bought one of those little egg cooker-steamer things and it’s greatly improved my happiness and decreased my stress 😂

ok 🆒
I love eggs too and I've always wanted one of those gizmos!
My coworker just got me one for Christmas! It's awesome
How much time per day do you think your on the toilet?
Or just smash it (not too hard) on a flat surface and roll it with the same pressure on your hand, been doing it for years and still works the best for me.
I use the hand roll method👌🏾
Thanks Kev

Olds cool kevmo to the rescue again! Legend
Kevmo, does this decrease how long they stay fresh?
Thanks!! 🎄🎄🎄🎄🎄
Happy Christmas, @kevmo
Finally.... I understand the method now!
A tiny bit of baking soda in the water before it boils is the best trick
Thank you! I threw an egg today out of frustration…… Irish temper got the best of me. 😂
😂😂😂
You can peel in pot so you don’t get eggshell in sink cause if she’ll go in drain could potentially cause problems in pluming issue fact
Do you boil them for ten mins or turn the heat off and let them sit in hot water for ten mins?
Go UNLV! ❤
Dumb question, does the shell extend the shelf life?
Nothing beats the Tupperware n water trick
Helps take that shit out everytime :)
What restaurant do you work at kevmo?
Nice!
I usual just crack a belt around the middle and peel them in a bowl of water, comes off all in one
My grandma taught me this trick use it every time
God loves you man
Another cool hack is to take a thumb tack and poke a small hole on the bottom. Lets air escape and you will never have cracked, green yolks, or sulfer smelling eggs again. I learned that one from the great Jaques Pepín
I just usually peel them under the waterfall it's a lot easier less messier and the shells land in the bowl 👍
I hope this works because I struggle with peeling hard boiled eggs so much
Wonder why it takes him so long to boil eggs.
What song is playing in the background?
There’s a little pocket of air between the shell and embryo at what would be considered the “top” of the egg. Start there and keep peeling under running water. Perfect eggs every time!
Yes sir. Just the way my momma taught me.
I always thought peeling eggs depends on their age
What a treat
Now clean the mess in the sink and hope the small shell pieces dont get caught up in the drain.
I used wine vinegar in the water not sure why it works but it does I'll give this a try next time
if you put a giant handful of salt into the water before you boil them like way too much for eating literally a handfull, it stops the shell sticking to the egg they peel easy then
Add some vinegar as well makes it super easy!
I thought this is how everyone peel's boiled eggs...
What would we do without kevmo
Didn't work that well for me.
I do this but I peel them while still submerged in water never fails
Hope that works with farm eggs too. Such a pain to peel.
Never tried it this way! I usually put them in boiling water to shock them, and into an ice bath shock em again
Am I the only one who doesn't feel it's a hack because this is how I have been peeling off boiled shell since childhood..and everyone in my neighborhood does the same
I dont peel eggs, i just eat it whole including the shells
💀💀
ima do this , this egg pilling wasting drives me nuts .
I really want boiled eggs now 💀
Use ice and it'll just fall out of the shell
I do this and use a spoon
Its easier if you peel it underwater.
Do you just rinse them egg shells down the drain ? Lol
I like to peel my eggs right into the trash, for the best effect!
Mate that's just peeling eggs not a hack
I am doing this tomorrow and will truthfully let everyone know the results. Promise.
And don't over boil eggs only take like 8 min to boil
I'm not gonna lie I thought you were gonna say it helps take that sh** off everytime lol haha sorry

What 😅 I could only hear your voice
Doesnt work
This is my uncle
Not really that be cool though
Or put salt in water and helps the yolk not stick to the shell
Just put one ☝️ table spoon 🥄 in boiling water a vinegar and you can peel like 👍 a pro!
Eggs in boiling water for 20 minutes then to cold water for a few I never have trouble peeling even after they are in tha fridge for a couple days
With 20 minute boil time you got other problems than peeling
@@adoschtinad yeah i'll pass on the green yolks and ham thanks.
This isnt a hack
If you get a restaurant I'll definitely go there with all my friends and family
I never knew about cracking shell. Then putting it back into the cold water. 🙃
I always heard older eggs peeled the best.
