Just played my BBNE 2 with my new TC BH 250 on GK speakers. My sound guy and fellow musicians were very happy with it, it was clean no unwanted noise they said. 250 vs 400 watt and the TC 250 sounded very full and loud and overall better than GK in a room of 300 people. I am so glad I got this very portable head as my 1st purchase.
Great idea! although it was on the surface, I've been asking myself for quite long time: "Why do we need all these usb cables and other stuff when processors already has the input interface? Your own guitar." Glad TC Electronics engineers finally made this feature real.
I love this amp to death. Use it in a punk band and a powerviolence band. Always gets compliments from fellow bass players at shows. I’ve actually gotten people to end up buying one themselves. The TubeDirt N Comp tone print is my go too but theres hours of fun to be had just going through the tone prints. there’s so much fun to be had with this amp. Great for any style of playing.
You're correct! My weekends sometime include playing one night with Starship, then a doing a metal session, then a night with rapper Too $hort, a top-40 hotel gig, and then gospel church on Sunday. Or seeing 45 countries in a year. Totally normal! Always striving for more though- there's no limit to this bass thing it seems!
hey tc, please re-design the next phase of these amps so that the tuner is only on when the mute button is engaged. constant flashing lights are distracting. other than that, a perfect head.
How would this amp perform with 2, 1x12 cabinets rated at 300W rms? Would it be enough to power a medium club gig of about 500 people using 2, 1x12 cabs? I love the features, but am a bit concerned about the power, and also the reliability if I needed to keep it cranked while playing.
longdongbongchong absolutely enough power for 2 12” cabs. I’m pushing an Aguilar GS 4x10” cab with this amp and I promise you it’s plenty loud and very clean. I think it’s closer to 300wts than it’s rating of 250. Just run it at 4ohms and you will be surprised how powerful it is. Tone is similar to the RH series and the price is unbeatable. Highly recommended.
It's a very attractive amp. Do we know what power output there is r.m.s.? Is this music power rated at 250W or Peak power. It does make a big difference.
hmmm so either the tone beaming of effect is just turning on the effect that is already in the head OR it is pairing the head bluetooth and the signal is running through phone fx?????
Just bought one of these and it's going right back. Toneprint does not work at all which seems to be the norm. The amp itself sounds great but the toneprint not working correctly makes this like any other class d amp. The toneprint app also broke my iphone it was installed on. After some attempts to get it to work my battery drained very quickly only to never turn on again and the phone was only a few months old. A tech told me the app was probably the culprit as I never had issues before. If you are going to try the toneprint feature I would install it on an old phone as I do not trust that app.
TC Electronic Hello TC, i just purchased this amp a few days ago, love the amp but the toneprint doesn't work anymore... What's wrong with that? It was just fine only for 2 days, very disappointed... By the way, the toneprint led stays on all the time, it only blinks when receiving the info from the cell phone... :( please help
Hi, I'm a little late to the hype on these amps but I want this for home use, if I was to take it out would I be able to plug it into a tc electronic BC212 cabinet then daisy chain that into one of my other cabs of a different brand ?
Can you beam a TonePrint change while the speaker is muted? That shrilly beaming noise is probably going to pickup on the PA when you're live on stage.
I have this amp- it really great, especially for the money. I bought the Switch 3 footswitch, . It does not work as described. The footswitch seems quite arbitrary as to what the buttons control. Anyone get the footswitch "programmed" to work so each button does something different-consistently????
If you want to change your sound in the middle of a song, get 2 pedals and set them up as you want.. you want a free app to solve all your live issues? keep looking.
Hello there! If you could help me with an answer, I would pretty much appreciate it ! >> Can i plug this amp with a 200 w/ 8 ohm bass cabinet? It's an Artec 4x10 - 200 w/8hm. Thank you!
Iiiiiiiiinteresting. Not a fan of 'pre-set' controls on amps... but... eh... ach... eeee... yeah this seems useful. Innovative. I'm having an internal crisis here - "no no no!" / "but that is good though..." "shut up. No!" With the TC sound, it has a lot of... credibility. Maybe I'll try this one day.
Robert Ferguson It's really not. The amp has to have gain attached to the volume, and the tone knobs only end up having 5 positions each. Toneprint inundates you with options, but what it really should do is let you customize your tone instead. I've spent upwards of 3-4 hours comparing Toneprints which were ultimately useless. I wish I had bought an Ampeg.
I am actually very disappointed in the bass drives in this amp. I bought this head for those and I was disheartened that the bottom end gets lost with the increase in effect. It is still a decent head by itself, but I basically don't use the toneprint option at all.
Is it possible to use without a cab being connected when headphones are in use? i understand the signal is being cut to the cabinet when headphones are on? Thinking of moving it around if I record something
@@calebbyars2746 I just got the amp-before I sell my Spectra comp pedal, which I love - can I create my own "combination effects" tone prints? Thanks for your help.
According to the (BH800 Windows) update this is compatible with the BG250-208 amp software update BG250-208 3.1.00 (2282) it tells you to power up simultaneously with a UTIL switch or a MUTE switch next to the USB socket, but there are no UTIL/MUTE switches next to the USB socket/plug at the back of the amp head, there's a UTIL LED but no switch and there's a MUTE locking switch at the front of the amp, I've tried turning the amp on while the software is detecting the amp but not having any luck! My OP is Windows 7.
Jon Don the UTIL switch is inside the casing. Just use a pen or something like that, and insert it into the UTIL hole. That'll enable you to press the UTIL button inside :)
A little awkward to get to, you have to remove the speaker plug to get your hands in there but after a couple of attempts managed to do it with a bent paper clip, cheers guys it sounds great! Thanks TC.
+Jozzef 90 yes, that might be the case...so it's important to match the ohms accordingly. If I get an amp that says, for example, 250w @ 4ohms, I would buy a cab that can handle 259w or more @ 4ohms...or two 8ohm cabs (two 8ohms = one 4ohm), but make sure your cabs and handle whatever power you're putting into them. I like using 4ohms cabs myself...but just so I don't have to carry around two 8ohms cabs. cheers
...cool idea but I, like many, play with 2 guitars in the band...so 250w just isn't enough for me in the practice room. Now if they made one at 500w or even 1000w...I think they wouldn't be able to keep up with demand...ijs
+Jozzef 90 ...to me you just need at least 300w for any application...practice, gigging, etc so for practice 500w is enough for me...BUT if you can afford the 1000w...now you know 100% you will be heard. Of course I think you should consider what type of band you're in and what is the appropriate sound requirement for the gig... do you play with two loud guitars, lots of instruments, or quick acoustic, etc..cheers.
Amp volume is way too low compared to mic: hard to hear bass...except when he cranks it at the end. I'd love to see someone like Geddy, Stu Hamm, or Billy Sheehan demo this so I can get a real feel of the unique sounds it delivers.

Nice to hear an octave effect without "flobbering" … which is my new favorite technical term when describing tone.
Flobbering! Perfect name for it, the only name for it👍

I recently bought this head and have to say I have no problems with it at all .. used it for an outside gig today and it was pumping through the PA .
That really is pretty sweet! I'm impressed with the download to the pickup.
I've had mine for a few weeks and I love it!
I had one, you really need 2 tone prints on one amp, or a dedicated compressor and a tone print. So sold it
True you need an external compressor!
tuning is a breeze :D I love duffy!
really like that part, where is function of EQ explained :D
T C bass amps are the best I don’t know what other bass amp makers I thinking every bass amp should have a toner TC just got it right
pretty famous bassist.. used to play for white snake pretty famous session guy too.. and awesome bassist
Whaaaat? Holy shit! That's awesome that he can change the setting with an iPhone and pickups!!

Thats actually an amazing design with the tone print 0.0
a California TM5 in Creme Highgloss with Alder Body and Rosewood Fingerboard
Is it possible to tune d#, for example?
Well, all three of them are solid endorsee's of their own amp companies it seems!
Would love to see Troy Sanders demoing this!
Is this just a smaller version of the BH500? Because right now I'm just torn between these 2 amps. :)
Thx for video
Nice and clear explanation
Can you load Toneprints with Linux?
Unfortunately changing the tone print is impossible without the pedal. This video doesn't quite explain that.
Does any of the Toneprint presets emulate a "clean tube" sound? (SVT/ old school style)
I have this amp and I use it with a marshall cabinet for my guitar. It sounds fantastic along with the hall of fame reverb and flashback delay.
hi there,
just wondering if this head is excellent for direct recording or plug-in to PA mixers?
Do you have any clue as to what the 8ohm RMS power rating is?
How would this amp perform with 2, 1x12 cabinets rated at 300W rms? Would it be enough to power a medium club gig of about 500 people using 2, 1x12 cabs? I love the features, but am a bit concerned about the power, and also the reliability if I needed to keep it cranked while playing.

Im trying to find out the same thing! did you work it out?
What about years down ,will the app be available ????,can you load several tone prints of one
dear tc, octave pedal asap please , oc2 sounds is def a way to go
Sooo.. are you going to release an octave pedal already? or should I go with MXR? =P
Aahhh! Good point...I hadn't thought of that. :)
if the amp delivers 250 W @ 4 Ohm, it's 125 W @ 8 Ohm. But you'll have a great "control" on that voice coils - less wobbling. Dry punch!

You can use a pedal to jump between stored toneprints
Can it be used only with a bc208 cabinet?
Sorry if this is already answered, but can you have multiple toneprints or does that white knob only do on/off of a single toneprint?
What I mean is can you load multiple toneprints into the amp and then dial any one of them in with the white knob?
Hi there. Just the one TonePrint at a time, I'm afraid.
I have the exact problem right now...what was your decision?
woow. right when i was about to buy a markbass little mark... x________x

Yes.
Hello ! I am Brazilian and bought a BG 250! What is the name of the program that is installed on the mobile? some tutorial on youtube?
It's called the TonePrint App :) You can learn more about it here: ruclips.net/video/vMt_0WVx9XE/видео.html

yes you can :)
Thanks a lot!
and where's the gain knob? :( Do I really have to fiddle with the internal gain knob of the Bart preamp in my bass, to use this amp?
Cool, but more of a practice amp.. need to switch them fx on the fly for a live gig.
That's why there is footswitch, I think you can have 2 effects stored and also mute with footswitch instead of going to controls on head.
i could use Peavey Headliner 210 Bass Guitar Amplifier Cabinet - 800 Watts, 8 Ohms for this amp
do you have this app for WINDOWS PHONE ?
can i use my mesa boogie cab for this ? i use it to play on my les paul. or does it need a bass cab. i dont know if there is a difference in the cabs.
You can run guitar heads through bass cabs but not the reverse.
bass head calls for a bass cab
oooo cool, thnx andrew !
Does someone know if that mini-USB port would also work to input sound into the computer? (as some Fender have, like Mustang series)
no, it is only to receive updates to the firmware of the amp, sent from a computer.
What kind of footswitch do I need for this amp? The Switch-3 or the G-switch or can I just use any 3-way switch?
Mastenbro any footswitch will work
lol, bro you were so cool until the last 20 seconds when you turned it up and made your O face :D
Fucking awesome

Yes, it's fine to use without a cab 🙂
TC Electronic cool, thanks a lot. I just received mine today :)
Can you stack the tone print effects-i.e. have chorus and compression via the tone print feature at the same time?
Theres a "combination effects" toneprint option on the app that let's you stack certain ones yeah
