Bought the BH550 to replace my BH250. Loved them both, but wanted more power than the BH250 provided. The EQ section is much better now and the second tone print was a nice bonus.
Hi Scott, is this 550 sufficient power for your needs? Can you please give me more details? What about reliability ? I think to spend couple of more $ to get BH550 instead of PF500 which different opinions about how solid it is. Anyway, please give me advice is TC worth the money and what cabinet it drives in your case. THank you!!
The 550 is awesome. Very reliable. Have never had problems wither with the 250 or the 550. The 550 definitely has enough power to drive any 4ohm or combo of 4ohm (2x8 ohm) cabinets. I have used it with my TC 2x12 and Hartke 2x10 (each 8 ohms) in series. I also use with my Ampeg 410H (4 ohms) and my Behringer 4x10 Bass Cab (also 4 ohms). It has a great sound, 4 bands of EQ (Low, Low Mid, Hi Mid, High), Gain and Volume, in addition to 2xTone Print Channels (can only use one at a time). I love it because I can throw it in my backpack with all my cables so I just have to haul around a 4x10 cab, my pedal rack, and a back pack. Hope that helps. I play Metal and it provides plenty of power at 550W.
Rick those cabs have two connections which means you can run them in series using the single output of the amp. Even if they had only one connection you could run the single speaker out line into a splitter and connect to both cabs. Look / think before you provide wrong information next time.
This amp head is really transparent and doesn’t color your sound much (especially going front of house)at all UNTIL you add a TonePrint that has some tube or overdrive sound, or add your favorite drive pedal. Make no mistake, this amp is loud and plays really big at stage volume. I use it with a pair of 2x10s and it has more punch than an 8x10 fridge. Most of my gigs are jazz and r&b, so I rarely use overdrive. Also sounds thicker I think when plugged to a cabinet via Speakon cable.
He's so absolutely right about backline bringing an Ampeg. Its that or a GK cab every time. I want one of these!!!!
Cool stuff!

Can the BH550 push the k210 and k212 together?
My Equipment: 1 x k212, 1 x k210 and 1 BH800. It works perfectly together.
No, it has only one speaker output.

what's the song ???? the first bass line
who cares. it sucks.
all the demos I've seen, so far, sound so 'toppy', I want my bass sound to balls, big bass balls, seems to be lacking here, am I missing something?

oops, meant, 'to have balls'?
You can run a 800watts amp on a 1 10” speaker cab!? People will say anything to make a sale! This is BS!
