    Iraq's 1990 invasion of Kuwait resulted in more than one million troops facing off against each other in the desert of the Persian Gulf. The Allied Coalition's air war, known as Operation Desert Storm, involved the most sophisticated technological weaponry available. The ground war was known as Operation Desert Saber utilized ground systems including the impressive M1A1 Abrams and the M1M-104 Patriot and demonstrated the precision of American military maneuverability.

    Saddam was hopelessly incompetent as far as conventional war planning skills, I'll give you that.

    • @suicidewafflez
      @suicidewafflez 4 года назад +6

      Saddam and his command had adequate knowledge of conventional tactics and weaponry used in the 1950's to 1970's. They were mostly caught off guard by the advanced technology the USA was using, such as GPS. The ignorance of GPS technology exposed their entire Western flank. Even if they had impressive 'conventional war planning skills' contingent upon what was available to them, they would've still been hopelessly outmatched by the USA's technology.

      "Fog of War". What are you implying? Were you there? No light, desert for thousands of miles, no streets. Assume the British were where they were supposed to be, the Apache pilots are as much in the dark as the tanks on the ground. Many US soldiers were also killed by friendly fire. It's one of the tragedies of technological warfare.

    You cant call this shit a war. Saddam was an idiotic leader who thought himself to be some god and great military strategist, he executed his best generals in the iran war and was left with idiots who did everything he said even when it got them all killed.
    Saddams army had weapons from all over the world thanks to the iran war but his troops were not trained to use them effectively, and if you add the dumb generals and saddam they were set up for slaughter.
    If Iraq had a good general the level of general schwarzkopf and with troops trained efficiently the story would of been alot different, and it would of been a much more costly war, imposible to win for iraq but at least they would of left the super powers and its allies with a black eye and a broken leg.

    Its Amazing how much the United States Military is able to adapt , change & grow . Our Military is definitely much different then it was in the 90s we use much of the same Armament but Vastly upgraded . Just like the Foot soldiers Gear , Helmets, vests , weapons Everything even the way Soldiers carry themselves & perform in combat is completely different. Its 2020 now & I can only imagine what our Military will look like in 10-15 -20 years from now.
    But God Bless America, Canada, Britain & Australia Armed Forces along with many other NATO troops in the Pursuit of freedom & justice not just In Our home Countrys but world wide.

    Kuwait is a made-up country created by the British when they gave independence to Irak, they decided the Iraki province of Kuwait would be set as a separate country so Irak would never have control of the Persian Gulf, so if Irak turned anti-British, the British would still have a friendly power (Kuwait) owning the Gulf. Anyway, the Persian Gulf war is another example of a war of aggression driven by shameless propaganda, remember "Nurse Nayirah"? The daughter of the Kuwaiti ambassador to the United States who pretended to be a Kuwaiti nurse, stood before Congress and swore she had seen Iraki soldiers killing babies in their incubators (she was coached by an American public relations firm). You can also mention when in Bush Jr. invaded Irak after 9/11 despite the fact that most of the terrorists were Saudi and that Osama was hiding in Pakistan.
