When I lived there my Sunday ride was up Glendora Mtn Road to Mt Baldy village for a sweet roll and morning coffee then ride down the hwy to Ontario n back to San Dimas :)
Ha ha! I was there yesterday and there were way too many hikers and those overgrown vegetation was cutting my shin right and left. You need to wear your shin guard and long sleeve to protect yourself. Thanks for the good report!!
Love your vids. I have ridden all of that loop you did. Keep up the great work. I relax after work to watching you bomb some of my favorite trails. Take care.
Very nice trail guide for the Soquel side of CHSP. Bovinian and Faultline are nerve-wracking during superbloom. There's more on the Aliso/Skully side, (which connects with SART, Coal Canyon, and Prado Dam.) On the Carbon Canyon side, there's loads more climbing, (South Ridge one side of Telegraph and Sycamore/North Ridge on the other,) and a Redwood Grove hiding behind the CC Dam. There are a few different exits on the south side, (Bobcat will drop you out right by the famous White House,) most of which connect to the Yorba Linda horse trail system. Because of the way CHSP connects Carbon Canyon park, SART, and the Santa Ana mountains, you could, in theory, ride from Brea to San Clemente with almost no street riding.
I experienced this same thing in 2017 spring after the good 16/17 winter. needless to say I know the pain you are feeling. pretty funny to watch it on film though. I strongly remember the sound of my knuckles mowing down miles of plants. thanks for the memories :D
I had a similar experience on a trail at Laguna around the same time this year. We rode in the morning and the flower stocks were over our head. Had a full face, goggles, and pads so I didn't get that beat up but my white gloves stained green. Plus all of the flowers had dew on them so we were soaked after about 5 minutes of riding. It was a ride I will never forget.
Rode this today. 17 mile loop up to San Juan peak. Took Easy Street trail on the way back to the car. Boy o’boy, that was anything but easy. Crazy scary steep rocky decent with exposure to the right. Exhilarating.
Thanks for this one. My riding buddy wants to go to Chino Hills. The trails are closing in with all the rain we've had. Besides gloves you need something to cover your calves. Our local trail looks just like those, the flowers/bushes are all head high and handlebar grabby.
Great video Tony! I asked if you’d showcase my old home trails and you didn’t disappoint. Too bad it’s super overgrown right now but definitely A+++ for the effort. I have to say that I started riding there in 1992 but I never saw a flower bloom like that before. Truly gorgeous and thanks again 😊
*dude you look like both, casey neistat and todd v dating* *not only that you look like two very interesting look alike youtubers but also you yourself are a very interesting mountain biker youtuber* *and the best part is that you do what i love most, mountain biking* *keep up the sick content dude!!!*
Super dope video, thanks for getting beat up by plants for us viewing lol. I just went to Chino Hills last week to hike and it was all dead overgrown vegetation.
The Outsider MTB lol definitely a good tip to call and see if they have cut the trails 👍🏽 I’m actually training for triathlons so I can’t do what you guys do but it’s definitely fun to watch. I’ll be leaving a subscribe
Awesome vid. Absolute beast powering through the jungle of Chino Hills... I would be worried about snakes as a hiker trying to walk through that stuff. I have tagged this ride as must do for September/October after the heat does a little. Love the videos!!
Thanks for the street names I've been wanting to start from that side. Really appreciate the fact that u stated the streets . I usually start from Carbon Cyn side. take telegraph up to South ridge thendown Bovanian then back down Telegraph . I did the Northridge side a few times really enjoyed that side but they fenced it up pretty good. they shut that down. Once I did the Infinity loop they had from southridge to bovanian to Raptor to ?to? to? to we got lost found our way back eventually. At that time those weeds were as high as our heads and they were dried out and slapped us up pretty good. Great Video ! will try soon after they mowed that down a bit. Thanks !
Man, that brutal! I went in June and it was slightly worse cuz all that shit was dry and full of thorns. Had to make a uturn back to the road and enjoyed the downhill back to Elvinar😂. Rad video though.
I thought of that the whole time, but there weren't any on me. Wondering if they come in only certain times of the year? Lots of butterflies though. That was cool.
Summer is the time for ticks, with all the rain, theres going to be an abundance of vegetation, keep those elbows and knees in on tight single track, I cover my arms.
whats up tony, new to watching the channel and i noticed you had posted a video of riding in chsp! i live right next to it and it would be sweet if we could get some riding in sometime! next time you come out let me know and hopefully we could get some runs in!😀
Man I used to ride these trails in my Redline BMX back in my HS fit days dodging all the bumps so I don’t eat shit lmao. Now tempted to head out tomorrow and see if my bike that’s been stored for a decade still has it lmao.
Thanks for the CHSP video. I ride that park when I need to get my cardio in. unfortunately there are no real black diamonds to ride and the park service is horrible about maintaining the trails.
Thanks!! They’re comfortable and great for days where I’m not looking for full protection. Local trails etc. I use something more for the bike parks. 👊
Hey Tony, I just took my Whyte 801 out for a half day of riding and my butt got so sore from the saddle its put me off the trails for a few days lmao. Have any you would recommend for a sensitive touche?
Are you wearing a shammy under your shorts? If not that’s definitely the problem. It’s a must. If that’s not it I’d say look for a more comfortable seat.
Hey man just an fyi im the wierdo that sent an empty envelope for the decals lol i cant be formal.. anyways dig ur content beign from around the area it shows me a lot of different trails to check out, ie: the super bloom trail i had no idea u can ride a trial during a bloom i rather ride than hike..
I know this is a old vid but you need to put a speedometer on your bike so we can see how fast you’re going.. just something I’m sure people would like to see
Hey Jay - I just fixed all of the links. Something must have went wrong when I pasted them in this week. I'm running a WTB Vigilante 2.5 front and WTB 2.4 Trailboss back. The links should take you straight to the tires now. Thanks for the heads up bud!
Parts of Palos Verdes are like that right now but even worse. Legit unrideable. Thank you for the vid showing people what our conditions are. Give it a month or two and it'll all be dead. Cycle of life.
I particularly like that you post the streets and where to find the trailhead
That’s part of bringing the map to life. Thanks! 👊🏼
When I lived there my Sunday ride was up Glendora Mtn Road to Mt Baldy village for a sweet roll and morning coffee then ride down the hwy to Ontario n back to San Dimas :)
That sounds like a well rounded sweet ride Miles. Thanks for tuning in!

Glad to be of service JJ! Crazy ride for sure.

Good stuff Drake - appreciate that!!

Wow thanks for the info. Didn’t know a lot of that. 👌🏼
Sick, nice to see you riding the 909! Awesome vid sir
Thank you!

Haha awesome. Glad I’m not the only one. 😉
Haha I was there, sidewinder weeds where at least 9 feet tall making a tunnel

Sounds like Lagua Ridge (T & A).
Rode chino hills today and got to experience getting beaten up by plants! As always great video! Looking forward to next Monday 🤙🏻
Thanks Mike! Sometimes the plants win. 😕
This video both introduced me to the channel and my absolute favorite place to ride; thanks for all you do!
Awesome!
I just did this ride a few days ago but from the Brea Olinda/OC/Tonner Canyon side. About as beautiful of a CC ride as you will find in So Cal...….
You said it! Really amazing this time of year especially after all of the rain. Thanks for tuning in!
Rode this today. 17 mile loop up to San Juan peak. Took Easy Street trail on the way back to the car. Boy o’boy, that was anything but easy. Crazy scary steep rocky decent with exposure to the right. Exhilarating.

You aid it David. Never seen the trails so lush, but the comes with consequences for sure. Thanks as always for tuning in!
Dude, that was insane! Beautiful but crazy! Another great story, as always man thanks for sharing!
Keep pedalin🤟
Thank you David - it's beautiful out there!
This is significantly better and more honest than any other bigger MTB channel. Keep up the good shit man, I'd throw Patreon dollars at you
Really appreciate you taking the time to say that. Means a lot to me and thanks for being part of it all. 🤜
Hey T..saw you snap the handlebar over on Alan's channel. Kinda gnarly flip. Hope you doing fine and keep the great content coming!
Thanks man - looking to do some mellower redemption rides this week to get my bearings. I’m good!
Had a great time doing it Bryan! I’ll be back when they give it a mow as well! 😉

Haha I've never heard that combo before. Thanks for appreciating the channel and seeing I'm trying to do something a little different here. Love that!
3:47 probably the best view I’ve seen on any of your vids.
One of my favs as well. ✔️
Super dope video, thanks for getting beat up by plants for us viewing lol. I just went to Chino Hills last week to hike and it was all dead overgrown vegetation.
Thanks! I haven't bee back since I think I was scarred mentally too. Haha.

Rode Serrano ridge and it’s a baby version of this. Love riding right now. Everything looks beautiful
You said it. Everything out there is like a painting.
Gee I'll make sure to attach scythes to my handle bars and wear MMA gloves when I head out there in spring 😂 love your commentary man!
Haha thanks man!
Really appreciate your videos. Keep them coming!!!!
Thanks Richard!
Great stuff Mate. Those trails look fantastic and the weather isn't bad either! 👍
Prime time over here now that the rain has given it a rest. 🌻
I did this Easter Sunday. Bane Ridge to Telegraph, to 4 corners and down raptor.
👍
Awesome vid. Absolute beast powering through the jungle of Chino Hills... I would be worried about snakes as a hiker trying to walk through that stuff. I have tagged this ride as must do for September/October after the heat does a little. Love the videos!!
Thanks for the feedback and yeah that was a ride to remember. Crazy but fun. ✔️
Where you poited in the beginning is the end of trail, acces on top of bane ridge u can see it to your right, anyways it's super fun you should try
Rad - thanks!
Awesome 😎 Viv.. I think 🤔 you where clearing the trail for everyone 🤘🏽😂
All in a days work! hah

I always try to include all the info I can on the rides. Thanks for tuning and and hyped this gets you to a new loop!
Did almost the same route 2 weeks ago on the weekend. Had to fight the super bloom hikers as well as the weeds. I feel your pain!
Haha totally! It's a madhouse out there in the peaceful country these days. 😉
Thx for the guide brotha. Will be riding this Wednesday 🤙🏾
Enjoy it man. 👊✔️
Dang I have never seen SoCal that green and the flowers 🤗
Right?! It's crazy here right now!
Man, that brutal! I went in June and it was slightly worse cuz all that shit was dry and full of thorns. Had to make a uturn back to the road and enjoyed the downhill back to Elvinar😂. Rad video though.
I’ll always remember this ride. Hahah 😳
I did this ride today (1st time) thanks for the guide and I'm sorry for laughing as you plowed through the over growth. hahaha
I was laughing too! Good stuff 👊✔️
As always great info and video footage.
Thanks Ricky! 👊✔️
It's really overgrown and the purple pokeys are out in full force on the east side little beginner level singletracks.
Looks like you need some hand guards for that trail. Nice video!
You ain't kiddin'!
Much respect... that was some pretty tall weeds and sunflower plants. Must of hurt
Kinda did. Haha - thanks Frank.
Nice one! Great scenery and the nerd in me loved the Zelda / Hyrule reference.
Hyrule! ⚔️
Watch yourself with the ticks, they love jumping on u as you brush against the vegetation! There going to have a long Cinco De Mayo feast this year
I thought of that the whole time, but there weren't any on me. Wondering if they come in only certain times of the year? Lots of butterflies though. That was cool.
Summer is the time for ticks, with all the rain, theres going to be an abundance of vegetation, keep those elbows and knees in on tight single track, I cover my arms.
I went today , first time and I didn't get to see any flowers , I was riding around , It's such a beatoful place to ride a bike

Welcome aboard!
Rode it today and it was a beater. The lanes are just torn up, bike was wobbling like crazy! Still fun but it was brutally hot!
Oh man Chino is so hot in the summer months. Good on you Robert!
loved your Legends of Zelda reference! The land of Hyrule 😍
My fav.
Just watched the video great footage of my backyard 👍🏽👊🏽. It’s even worse now singletracks are pretty much un-rideable 😩
Thanks John. They really need to get in there with the mowers.
👍 📹
Nature in all its glory!
Yes!
Man I used to ride these trails in my Redline BMX back in my HS fit days dodging all the bumps so I don’t eat shit lmao. Now tempted to head out tomorrow and see if my bike that’s been stored for a decade still has it lmao.
Go get it! 👊🏼
I can appreciate the Zelda nerd, it keeps me coming back to the videos haha
Zelda for life. ❤️❤️❤️
@@TheOutsiderMTB Hyrule forever! Hope I see ya out on the trails sometime 🤙
nice video, thanks for your hard work
Thanks Soy!
Thanks for the CHSP video. I ride that park when I need to get my cardio in. unfortunately there are no real black diamonds to ride and the park service is horrible about maintaining the trails.
I hear that. Yeah it’s been overgrown half of the time I’ve gone. Interesting.
@@TheOutsiderMTB BTW, you have a very cool channel. I like your "format" of bringing maps to life. Good Luck, Hope your channel blows up.
Dude thank you. Appreciate that a lot. 👌
Gave you a thumbs up just for that knuckle beat down. Sick vid tho
Ha thanks Dan - appreciate that! Stick around if you want - new vids weekly. 🤜
Sick! I'm glad I'm subbed to you!
Happy to have you!!
Love to ride this one day soon
You should!
Great video. And the Zelda comment was so true 🤣
Haha thanks - felt like I Was there.
Hey Tony love your videos. I just got into mtb. How do you like your poc knee pads?
Thanks!! They’re comfortable and great for days where I’m not looking for full protection. Local trails etc. I use something more for the bike parks. 👊
Portuguese Bend is the same way right now... lots of brush
Man it’s crazy everywhere.
Hey Tony,
I just took my Whyte 801 out for a half day of riding and my butt got so sore from the saddle its put me off the trails for a few days lmao. Have any you would recommend for a sensitive touche?

Holy crap that was over grown but gorgeous! 😳😍😎
Yup! Felt like another planet. Thanks Jeremy!
Just bought a mountain bike and went there for my first ride and rode 8 miles it was so fun
Awesome! ✔️👊

Thank you Jeff!
Any worry for rattlesnakes ?
No worry, but they’re out there.

Totally Legend of Zelda! haha.
You’re IN the game. 😉
Are e bikes allowed?
No. 😢
So Cool
Thanks Frank!
What tires are you running? Links are NOT current. Inquiring minds want to know.
Hey Jay - I just fixed all of the links. Something must have went wrong when I pasted them in this week. I'm running a WTB Vigilante 2.5 front and WTB 2.4 Trailboss back. The links should take you straight to the tires now. Thanks for the heads up bud!

@@TheOutsiderMTB theres a part of Laguna ticketron ,has overgrowth like that too...but it was a short trail...
Hahaha. I like your dog

Yeah that mustard has been annoying as hell. Worse part is its not even native to socal
It’s EVERYWHERE
Tick central!!!
Haha right?!
Thanks for beating up your hands for the rest of us... 😉
Always!
I would get lost in all that bush
I see what you did there...
Next time bring your machete. Cool ride, thanks.
Dude you ain't kiddin'! 🙃
Casey Niestat rides a mountain bike.
Haha I think it’s the shades. 😎
The Outsider MTB that and your hair, and the way you point to your pupper in the beginning haha

That did not look like fun at all. Way too overgrown. :-(
Yup. Trying to make the best of things. 😉
