      Cats also got big when Space Mountain/ Star Tours were made. Before, the land was farmland, so plenty of mice. However, in the last ten years, the population, I think, has went down a little, due to the Disney vet spaying them.

    I have a tip and have NEVER seen it in a video.
    Its for the Finding Nemo ride in Disneyland. No one ever wants to go on it because the line is always too long. But I have never had to wait more than 20 minutes for the ride. If you go up to the castmember at the entrance, tell them that one of your riders has claustrophobia or fear of small spaces. They will direct you towards the exit and wait for another cast member. If you look to the right you see a little room. A cast member will direct you to the line (there usually is none) and once it is your turn you can go it. The room is fairly big and is air conditioned. There is a big tv showing everything you would see through the submarine. Its a really nice break and place to sit in a cool room and there is usually no wait. Sorry if this was a little confising. I havent been to Disney for a while but I wanted to share it

    One little addition to the Morse code story that I heard when I was a cast member back in the day is that when that little secret was first put in it wasn't actually the opening day speech, it was something rude or vulgar (they didn't tell me what it initially said). Well, Lillian Disney understood Morse code and called the guy out and had it fixed!

  • @fifthrider
    @fifthrider 5 лет назад +91

    I've ridden in the Lilly Belle several times when it was a Club 33 exclusive. Members were pretty upset when Club 33 rates went up and their accessibility to the Lilly Belle was removed. For a long time, the actual kimono given to Walt and Lillian by emperor Hirohito was in this car. Although it was never stolen, management realized it was just a matter of time until it was so the kimono was removed and replaced with a duplicate. Eventually this decision proved right as guests tampered with it too much and eventually it was removed. One other item that used to be found in the Lilly Belle was a signature book of everyone who rode in the car. It wasn't uncommon to find a celebrities signature in there. Sadly this book disappears around 2015 so once again, management's concerns about theft proved right.
    Also, fun fact, when Disneyland first opened one clever fellow decided to set the morse code to say dirty things. Unknown to him Lillian Disney understood morse code and knew exactly what it was saying. Walt had it changed.

    Small thing most people seem to not know about the evil queen above Snow White's Adventures. She doesn't just appear every 20-30 seconds like DFB is saying. Her appearance is actually triggered when someone touches the bronze apple on top of the spellbook just outside the entrance.
    When you touch it you will hear the evil queen cackle while the curtains are opening above you.
    Edit your: Obviously like most of the Disney triggerables, like the bamboo pole in the Indiana ride, it doesn't work every single time because it needs time to reset and to keep the effect actually cool. If it has been triggered recently enough it won't go. But this one resets pretty quickly though between 10-20 seconds I think.
    Also it will also trigger from touching the spellbook under the apple, basically any part that is the same brass piece.

      Wolf Wintemute No, she appears on a timer, but if you touch the Golden Apple/Cackling Apple, you will hear the Queen’s evil laughter!

    I've been to "Disney Jail" one time. Back when I went to grad night in 1991, I was left behind when I missed my bus. It was backstage in the old admin building where the south park character costuming is. Nothing special, but when my mom got the call from Disneyland Security, she nearly had a heart attack. Now, any major incidents are handled by APD from their onsite precinct. Yes, Anaheim Police Department has a precinct in Disneyland

    • @mugglechris
      @mugglechris 5 лет назад +6

      Bryan Eisenhart grad nights are such an issue. Last year some kid took drugs, punched a cast member then photo the police in the esplanade. I saw it go down. He was running around taking swings at people and the cast members seemed annoyed. It took away from my trip, that’s for sure

    • @PSPSMITH2022
      @PSPSMITH2022 5 лет назад +3

      Grad Nights are rough on Disneyland in general. While I'm sure it's great fun to go if you're a graduating teen living in the area, I personally prefer to avoid all amusement parks whenever large groups of grads will be there. Some of my favorite rides are trashed by the celebrating kids, probably most notable in the Haunted Mansion dealing with an alarmingly high rate of food/spit ending up on the glass in front of the dining room party scene. Also, I've heard from a cast member that gum being stuck on Disney surfaces is the absolute worst on Grad Night weeks. Luckily, Disney is very helpful regarding sharing which nights and weeks will be hit hard by those grads, and have always helped us pick times to go well after those wild nights are over (or before they hit that year.)

    • @Rudogg4Her
      @Rudogg4Her 5 лет назад +4

      I had my fun at Disneyland on grad night. Not with drugs I got together with a girl I knew since 1st grade instead. Disneyland should end grad nights in my opinion. The Parks are too crowded nowadays.

    • @ThanieKautz
      @ThanieKautz 5 лет назад +2

      Grad Night at Disneyland was the worst!!! If you're a true Disney fanatic don't expect any "magic" or cast members to give you that special service we all come to expect. None of the cast members give a damn about the grads. You can tell on their faces that all they want to do is get their paycheck for the night and go home. They do just the bare minimum because lets face it, the grads are not there for all the extra magic and over the top guest service. Most rides are not even running and there's sooooooo many immature, annoying kids running around trying to get into trouble. It's like their one night to act a fool and childish before college or something. Then there's the ones that want to just dance and grind on strangers and hook up with other kids from other schools. Ughhh years later and I still regret going! I honestly could of had a better experiencing going by myself the very next day.

    • @bryaneisenhart
      @bryaneisenhart 5 лет назад +9

      Lol love how my thread changed from being about the validity of "disney jail" to how bad grade nights have become. I used to work there for a few years and loved doing grad nights. So many schools have been banned permanently that soon, only the Christian schools might be left allowed to attend. Yes, we were told we could be harder on the kids, but again, these kids were violated a lot of rules. During grad night, smoking is banned for EVERYBODY (chaperones included) but we would constantly be smelling smoke. I found an empty Hennessey whiskey bottle in a trash can at Coke Corner not ten minutes after a GN started. Now, before you pass blame on the day guests, those cans get a "final dump" when the park is empty between events, so it was a grad. I've had to sweep up used condoms over by Cafe Orleans. Moral of the story, Walt started Grad night as a reward for an achievement and milestone in young people's lives and today's kids are ruining it. Anybody realize there IS a dress code for grad night? Suits and ties for men, evening dresses for women. Rarely is it ever enforced anymore.

    The first time i went to Disney when I was 6, my parents and i were getting on the railroad and my parents were a little upset because i has just screamed and sobbed my entire way through pirates. As we were waiting in line a cast member came up and asked if we would like to ride in the caboose. There were a couple other families there with us. It was so amazing and I will never ever forget. I wish I could thank that cast member properly know that I’m older. I had no idea it was such a special thing until recently

    The drawing class is actually still available in florida at the art of animation resort. They only do it a few times a day at certain times but you can still visit there and take the class even if you're not staying at that resort. The lady that did the class I went to was so nice. Disney changed the signs for lost people in the park when someone went to downtown because she lost track of her parents in the 50s. The signs said "lost parents report to security at city hall" instead of "lost children". This was a decision that was brought to light when we went and reported her parents lost because she demanded that she doesn't lost because she was right there. The signs have been changed back now but stayed for quite a while.

    Great video!
    It can be kinda strange for someone very familiar with Magic Kingdom in Florida to visit Disneyland Park for the first time. Main Street is quite similar, though that castle in the background is a little off... You feel almost at home, but the farther you go into the park, the more different it becomes. While having a great time, in the back of your mind it's a little creepy, until your subconscious finally catches on that you really are in a different place!

      I mentioned that to my nephew who visited with his wife and kids a couple weeks ago. He said, “the sign out from calls him a yeti”. Didn’t know how to counter that.

    Appreciate this video, being on the West Coast Disneyland is a much more viable option, and while I am in no ways one who makes a yearly pilgrimage there, when I do go I do like to discovery new things whether it's actual new things or new to me things. So much appreciation for this. I remember when my wife and I stumbled across the castle walkthrough we were both like "Did you just install this? How long has this been here?"

    My family and I had the privilege of riding on the Lillybelle! Had to be there as soon as the park opened and wait for the Main Street station to open. Limited number of people able to sit so it is super important to get there first if there is a group of you.

    Seeing the Porch Potato bit actually made me kind of sad. I remember going to Disneyland with my mother - even before she had mobility issues she had problems with asthma and would have to sit and rest for a bit now and then. She always loved sitting on porch in the middle of main street but rarely got a chance to do it because it always seemed like there was someone who would just sit there all morning.
