7:06 That's because it's so difficult to make a game like monster hunter. Dauntless tried to reasonable success, but it's not monster hunter. It's not like someone saw a platformer and wanted to make another platformer, and it's not just a boss rush. You hunt the thing, get the things parts, and use them to make equipment to hunt the bigger thing. I think the main fault of this game is that it tries to be too many things, and as such can't pay enough attention to implementing what makes those things good in the games they originate from. The gliding from every open world adventure game since BOTW, city building and inhabitant management from (presumably, among other things) Palworld, gravity pulling from a variety of games, and monster hunting from Monster Hunter, among other things as well, like Dauntless and Wild Hearts. These all did well in other games, because there wasn't so much of a focus on variety. It's also understandable that what is presumably a small studio can't get their mechanics nearly as good as large studios like Capcom and Nintendo. However, I do believe the main fault of the player base is thinking that this game is meant to be a "Monster Hunter competitor". The game calls itself a 'monster-hunting game', but it does not try to compete with or be Monster Hunter. Someone looked at Dauntless and did the opposite of what it would take to IMPROVE upon it 😂😂😂 At least the glider feels more open-spaced, but that's not worth much when you're forced to wait for your armor upgrade. I'm betting that's in-game time, too. Can't just log off and wait; gotta spend an hour in the game waiting or buy a speed-up
If this gets polished up I could sink 1000 hours in easy. If they put 20 monsters the quality of MH 1 in DEFINITELY. Devs needs to dev faster, better, harder. This looks so cool. It vaguely reminds me of Starfox Adventures and Spectrobes although not in the gameplay systems ofc

i would say it has a lot of potential ngl for now its like 5/10 , if they look into the goods and bads of their game and improve, it could be like 7-8/10
6:03 ah yes, exactly like in monster hunter. Killing one monster, trying to carve it and then another random one coming to nuke the sh*t out of you all the while the corpse of the other one despawns 😅
If u guys want a MH-like game, I suggest the God Eater Trilogy. Pretty much anime MH similar to how Code Vein is anime Dark Souls. Wild Hearts had the potential, but it was taken out back and shot be EA too quickly.
5:49 Don't you just hate it when you're hunting this game's equivalent of like a Kulu Ya-Ku and some giant molten behemoth charges in out of nowhere and summons The Red Powergrid of Death™ above your head 30 seconds into the fight?
It looks like it'll be amazing out of early access.
Took wild hearts for granted, a sequel to that game could’ve been something
So the hammer claw is a dog thing. It doesn't hammer or anything like that though? So why hammer claw? Shouldn't it have like big hammery claws?
i hear persona music
i am standing on the walls dancing
there is no in between
Someone looked at Dauntless and did the opposite of what it would take to IMPROVE upon it 😂😂😂 At least the glider feels more open-spaced, but that's not worth much when you're forced to wait for your armor upgrade.
I'm betting that's in-game time, too. Can't just log off and wait; gotta spend an hour in the game waiting or buy a speed-up
If this released in 2005, it would’ve gone crazy 😂
That fortnine look-alike graphic already turn most people off.
This honestly looks good!
its inspired but not a direct competidor , more like a palworld+MH fusion than a DIRECT mh competidor , Its kinda unfair the comparison ur making...
If this gets polished up I could sink 1000 hours in easy. If they put 20 monsters the quality of MH 1 in DEFINITELY. Devs needs to dev faster, better, harder. This looks so cool. It vaguely reminds me of Starfox Adventures and Spectrobes although not in the gameplay systems ofc
well, it is an early access... I guess that having a survival game that has a bit of cool hunting in it is kinda nice. eh, I hope they improve it a lot
3:00 jesus fuck, arbitrary wait time!? I thought this game looked rough but had fun concepts (like the tethering), but the arbitrary wait time just throws it all out of the window, man
One thing i hate about game is when you crafting or cooking is time like if i want to cook a virtual food i rather cook them in real life or to craft/create a real item
@@paula.827 have you tried roasting in mh? Most satisfying minigame ever.
This game is going to be a microtransaction hell scape I can already tell
Only competent MH competitor was god eater for me but it's going for a totally different vibe and style of hunting. Way more aggressive and anime in its execution but I recommend it to MH fans nonetheless given its story despite the questionable voice direction with the Eng dub.
i would say it has a lot of potential ngl for now its like 5/10 , if they look into the goods and bads of their game and improve, it could be like 7-8/10
6:03 ah yes, exactly like in monster hunter. Killing one monster, trying to carve it and then another random one coming to nuke the sh*t out of you all the while the corpse of the other one despawns 😅
私は2004年からモンスターハンターをプレイしています♡そして新しい競争を見るのは素晴らしいことです
Tbh I would probably get it to tide me over until Wilds but that would be it at most
Even if this game was made well and actually fun, I don't see it being a Monster Hunter competitor. This is a whole different genre.
It's like Palworld and Dauntless had a baby😅
I'm gonna let this one cook a bit more,, and see if it will cook well
If u guys want a MH-like game, I suggest the God Eater Trilogy. Pretty much anime MH similar to how Code Vein is anime Dark Souls. GE1 and GE2 offer better stories and people would say that GE3 has better gameplay.
I personally prefer GE3. Buying God Eater 2 Rage Burst gives u God Eater resurrection (GE1) for free so definitely give it a try when u find it on sale.
PS: GE1 and GE2 is on eng dub and can't be change. GE1 can be patched to get JP dub but not GE2RB as far as I know
Okay we need a new short term for HW-likes that everyone agrees on so far I’ve brained up “hunter-like” and I’m confident something better can be made
you'd think monster hunter has a patent on the whole hunt-like genre the way no one can make a decent competitor
From what I've seen kinda feels more like Palworld but they switched out the Pokemon parts for Monster Hunter.
Like craftopia meets dauntless meets monster hunter but the execution needs more polish
Monster Hunter will always be the top game
have you ever tried God eater? i mean it isn't close to Monster hunter but the Ideas and the System behind are very interesting
One of the few games that is actually in early access lol
Seems closer to a RPG with lite survival elements (building, crafting) than a proper MH like. Based on that it looks... okay-ish?
WildHearts is a good game, the fight with that "sakura fox" (murakumo I think) is still in my top 3 favorite fights in any game
Wildhearts and dauntless are the closest. Dauntless needs to change it back to picking a hunt and hunting that monster. Not…. This open world aspect
I mean closest to actually being a good competitor are older series like God eater, soul sacrifice, and toukiden
Damn PalWorld got pretty cursed ngl
Looks more like Craftopia then MH
