I would actually argue that Kasey Kahne would have redeemed his career had the No 5 team been given the scraps of his Hendrick teammates in the 24, 48, and the 88
The Kahne vs. Kenseth battle is one of my favorite battles in NASCAR history. Matt Kenseth is my all time favorite driver, but Kahne has always appealed to me for some reason, perhaps as an underdog gone fan favorite. That was just some good racing that was fun to watch.
I truly think that Rick Hendrick cared about his big 3 more than Kasey Kahne. I really thought he can have more breakout seasons like 2006 but it never happened.
100% Agree I’ve Always Hated Rick Hendrick For That. I Wish Kasey Went To A Team That Didn’t Pick Favorites but Then Again Rick Is Known For Having More Blood In His Stomach Than His Brain
I was at Pocono when Kasey won there in August 2013. My dad and I were there for our third annual father-son trip, and it was an incredible race from green flag to checkered. (Before anyone argues, though, my favorite Pocono moment was the next year's race when I got to see Dale Jr. win in person).
i think it’s because back then the 5 was the 4th priority it went from 48-24-88-5 who they cared more about if they swapped 24 and 5 around he would of had atleast 15 wins at hendricks
Kahne did just fine at HMS.. #5 team was always the back burner team at Hendrick
@@wperson crews changed a little while back
@TylerF well the 5 today was the 48 until 2020. The 24 team was the 5 team
Kahne would've done a whole lot better had Hendrick not given him the leftover scraps from the 48, 88, and 24 cars.

Now Larson's going to resurrect #5, I hope he does a good job.
going good so far
9 wins already too and a championship 4 spot
@@Nascarfan344 check that, 10 wins and a championship now lol
@@samking102 now another win next season already
I believe if he had the speed, the five car of Larson currently has, he would’ve no doubt had more wins

I was at the race he won at louden in 2012
Kasey Kahne retired
I can’t be the only one slightly disappointed with his tenure at Hendrick.
Did better than Brian Vickers did with HMS. And Casey Mears. And Jerry Nadeau. And Joe Nemechek. And William Byron now.

Second?
First.
To Pocono in August 4, 2013 Booooooooooooooo!!!!! Jeff Gordon should have won!
It annoys me that his last 2 wins on Hendrick screwed Bowyer out of the chase, who did better than Kahne both times
Crashbfan65 Kasey deserved those wins. He never got the best stuff from HMS so he had to fight for em.
