He would have to accumulate 40 points toward the super license. It is possible, but with his age, I doubt he would get to race, even with Andretti F1 team, they would prefer a younger driver who has a long career working up the ranks in European single seater. Maybe he can get to do a test run in an F1 car.

Did anyone wonder why the track officials weren’t waving off cars that weren’t fast enough to make the field with less than ten minutes left? Maybe it was so Alex Palou couldn’t get back out on track?
When I was a lad watching Indy practices I just wanted them to go 3,000 mph and if there was a crash that was a bonus. Now that I'm a bit of an old man I'm on the edge of my seat and those little wiggles a couple of the guys had made me a nervous wreck, and the mild(ish) crash that young man had caused me to actually yell out something unintelligible. I guess it's karma for all those years that I didn't care all that much. And to be honest, I didn't understand it as much as I do now. I mean I'm no expert but I get the absolute knife edge these guys (and gal) are driving on. Good luck to them all and I hope for no injuries next week.
The only way to watch IndyCar: RUclips highlights. Uninterrupted, no commercials, just racing. Unlike the broadcast. Also, this is the best part of the race. You have no idea how scary qualifying setups are at Indy. Race setups are so safe compared to this. The race is just 490mi of nonstop passing and repassing - which is boring.

I totally agree! Making 6 of the drivers hang it all out there on the edge THREE TIMES is just temping fate with unnecessary exposure to a complete catastrophe. Instead, 1st Saturday everybody (who wants to) go on the track and hang it all out there and go as absolutely FAST as your car and your nerves allow. That's the first day qualifying that stood the test of time. Now it smacks of NASCAR contrivance, made for T.V. "drama." Yes I'm a traditionalist curmudgeon...Tough S#!T.

Idk why they act surprised when each driver one ups the driver before. The track is rubbering in. The last driver to qualify has the greatest advantage. Pretty unfair to do it this way. They should switch to F1 style quali
