Watched the F1 race. The top 10 paraded around the entire race without a single change in position. There was more passing on the 1st lap of the Indy 500, then in the entire F1 race.
And I passed five cars in the slow lane on the highway today. Fortunately this has as much to do with IndyCar as F1 does. If you really want to get into comparisons though, let's talk about how amateur these drivers look in comparison to Formula drivers. How many accidents where there in this race on a very wide oval circuit compared to Monaco with an extremely narrow and uneven surface with 18 turns? How much practice have the drivers had on this circuit compared to Monaco? Indy drivers have had 19 hours minimum of track time over the last two weeks. F1 drivers had three, 1- hour practice sessions in two days. That's 3 hours. And they have qualifying on the same day of their last practice. I can keep going if you'd like.
@@ImminentDebacle The rain washed the track clean. The cars are going so fast they are literally flying on the ground. Anyone can get got going 230 mph into a turn on a clean track. JOSEF NEWGARDEN WON THE RACE FOR 2024 AND 2023 BACK TO BACK!! *His team congratulating him* *More people coming to him for some reason* *Josef Newgarden is drinking milk* "Winners drink milk!" Monaco GP: the two Haas (Magnussen and Hulkenberg) crashed with Sergio Perez in 1st lap and local hero and poleman Charles Leclerc won his home Grand Prix. Indy 500: Tom Blomqvist ruined Marcus Ericsson's race, collided in 1st turn on 1st lap, but Scott McLaghling didnt coverted his pole position into a win because Josef Newgarden won Indy 500 for second time in a row.
It’s wild how we were 3ft from not getting the race in Sunday… Ericcson almost ate the fence that would’ve taken hours to repair over and done on lap 0. We got lucky lol
28:52 YES! Also, Royal Dutch SHELL, none better, and Penske, whom I saw at Riverside, in 1972-1973, running the dominant 917 Porsche CAN-AM cars, Mark Donohue and George Follmer! ZOOM ZOOM indeed, and I was 14😛
I´m sad about what happened to Agustin Canapino. Great race and a little mistake let him with nothing. Congratulations to Newgaden! That finish was killer!
I feel bad for Larson. He was up there with the leaders near the end but that pit road speeding drive through penalty killed his run. Nice to see him do so well on his rookie Indy 500.
F1 this weekend was so boring it sent me to sleep; no overtaking for the top 10 cars, they finished exactly as they lined up at race start. On the other hand there was the Indy 500…..how many overtakes during the race? It was breathtaking 😅 Great race, shame Aussie Mcloughlin didn’t get there but huge congrats to the winner, awesome dive around the outside to claim the win. F1 is dead RIP
If The IndyCar Series is to Grow They Need All The Seats Sold Out For Every Race Like Formula 1. If there's a Track Near You Don't Sit at Home and Watch on TV. Go to the Race. I Personally Would Love to Have Them Come to Virginia International Raceway. No Stands & Seats or Local Support However. I'm Transplanted From Indianapolis and Have Supported IndyCar Since the '70s and One of the Few Around Here Who Put IndyCar in Front of NASCAR. In Fact I Never Watch NASCAR Anymore.
Who won? Oh yeah, one of the same 2-3 teams that win every year. It’s amazing how Indycar fans brag about the level playing field, but then you have to go back to 2012 to see a team other than Penske or Ganassi winning the title.
It's been a while since watching any part of the Indy 500. Still exciting and glad the sport is safer than it was. Lots of rookie mistakes, but some of the accidents were avoidable if the driver just used common sense instead of depending on the safety measures to push the envelope. Jim Clark(rip) is still the best driver in my book.
During the closing laps Newgarden was using the high line to pass, O'Ward should have forced him to go low in turn 3. His spotters and race strategist dropped the ball
Such a shame for Ericsson crashing out on the very first lap. All that after he almost went back-to-back the previous 2 Indy 500s. However, some things cannot be helped as that is a part of racing.

i Wish they Make Indy Europe ....
Europe is to used to following F1. Also the 1.5 oval at Rockingham in the UK is no more. It only saw one Indycar race.
@@allanm6246MORE OVAL ❗❗
This and nascar are my favorite races to watch
My names Luke Timothy that shoutout was kinda weird for me lol 🤔😆
The race isn't won on the first few laps. It's a 200 lap race; Chili out boys!
This race was very exciting.
Can't believe Scott Dixon wasn't penalized for chopping down and causing a shunt.
Because it's Dixon if it was anyone else it would have been a penalty
Here is my best recap:
Update from yesterday at Indianapolis Motor Speedway:
6:00 am ET - Opening
11:45 am - Thunderstorm alert.. Find shelter!
12:00 pm - THUNDER!!!
1:00-3:00 pm - flooding, lack of food items
3:00-4:00 pm - Gettin' better, people are starting to get on the stands again
4:00 pm - Good time to go to the stands! Activate your "personal safety plan!"
4:00-4:40 pm - Wanna get on TV? Get lucky! Then, you can get a selfie cam, by scanning the QR code if you have a good camera and pray that your selfie cam doesn't lag and disconnect..
4:40 pm - Get ready racers!
4:42 pm - Ready, set, GREEN FLAG!!!
4:45 pm - YELLOW FLAG!!! Ericsson crashed into Fittipaldi and Blomqvist, They're out!!!!!! *Ericsson getting slightly mad*
6:18 pm - 100 laps!! (Halfway there)
about 8:00 pm - WHITE FLAG! WHITE FLAG! *Crowd getting hyped* LAST LAP!! WHO'S GONNA WIN??!!?! *Crowd getting way too hyped* OH !! END OF THE RACE!!! JOSEF NEWGARDEN WON THE RACE FOR 2024 AND 2023 BACK TO BACK!! *His team congratulating him* *More people coming to him for some reason*
*Josef Newgarden is drinking milk* "Winners drink milk!"
Stats:
•About 10 yellow flags (meaning caution for the drivers)
•Josef Newgarden coming in first place, Pato O'ward in 2nd, Scott Dixon in 3rd, Alexander Rossi in 4th, and Alex Palou in 5th.
•No red flags.
9:00 pm - *3008 employees activate*
Monaco GP: the two Haas (Magnussen and Hulkenberg) crashed with Sergio Perez in 1st lap and local hero and poleman Charles Leclerc won his home Grand Prix.
Great finish
This year's Indy 500 was about as excited as the F1 Monaco GP was boring.
Sting Ray Robb sounds like the name of some hotshot motocross rider from like 2004
28:52 YES! Also, Royal Dutch SHELL, none better, and Penske, whom I saw at Riverside, in 1972-1973, running the dominant 917 Porsche CAN-AM cars, Mark Donohue and George Follmer! ZOOM ZOOM indeed, and I was 14😛
as just an overall fan of racing, this warms the heart
This race is totally different man but nice 👍
blomqvist failed to make 1 turn 😂
Safety crews are surgical. Nice to see
sucks to see WP12 not finish the 500. He probably could've won
This indycar baby baby yeah yeah 😂😂😂😂😂😂🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷👍👍👍👍
Boy are they ever flying! Last time I was there was for time trials and all the women were swooning over Danny Sullivan. Nice to see the stands full.
The reason this race was great was because all of the cars were fast. Sting Ray Robb and Daly could run with the Penskes.
Who won? Oh yeah, one of the same 2-3 teams that win every year. It’s amazing how Indycar fans brag about the level playing field, but then you have to go back to 2012 to see a team other than Penske or Ganassi winning the title.
@@thebigguy5590 We have had 5 different winners in 5 races this year. You are delusional.
@@jtp2007 and the series champion will be either Penske Or Ganassi. Just as it has been since 2012.
@@thebigguy5590 it's almost like those are the most experienced teams on the grid...
@@thebigguy5590 yeah 2-3 teams that have more than 2 drivers per team. Indy is way more competitive than F1.
Leigh Diffey with the call of the year!!
5:35 - Yas queen! You wave that green flag baby.
Larson actually had a great run.
Can you post the full race (also 2023) with the full radio call?
During the closing laps Newgarden was using the high line to pass, O'Ward should have forced him to go low in turn 3. His spotters and race strategist dropped the ball
Way more fun to watch this compared to boring F1
Such a shame for Ericsson crashing out on the very first lap. All that after he almost went back-to-back the previous 2 Indy 500s.
However, some things cannot be helped as that is a part of racing.
GREAT RACE !!! THANK YOU RODGER FOR MAKING THE INDY 500 THE BEST AGAIN..
NOW IF CAN GET THE THREE STOOGES TO TALK ABOUT THE GREAT PERFORMANCE OF
CHEVROLET AND NOT SO MUCH ABOUT HONDA IT WOULD HAVE BEEN EVEN BETTER..
BUT THEY ARE HONDA GUYS.....GREAT AMERICAN RACE👍
Massive respect for Pato to give Newgarden the right amount of space in the last lap, or else they would have been in a monster accident
6:40 lol Jinx. You owe me a Coke.
Bravo newgarden Yayaya Yayaya YAYAYA
Congrats NewGarden!😱🤣👏
Larson had a real chance until the penalty.
Newgarden for the win🏁🏆
