I can't begin to tell you how much your video means to me. Our state just got an order for masks for the summer and I already have issues overheating in a good year. My daughter learned to sew with 4H. I will have her follower your directions or teach me how. I actually bought an infinity scarf lately hoping it would work. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!
This is an awesome design that I have been looking for. Just learning to sew and this is at an easier level for me to understand. Wanted something very loose and breathable to also meet the guidelines.
I hope it works well for you! One of my friends told me, "You know it's a good mask, when you try to lick your finger because you forgot you were even wearing it." That gauze fabric is so good for airflow.
I know Im randomly asking but does anyone know of a method to get back into an instagram account..? I was dumb lost the account password. I love any tricks you can offer me.
@Eli Sage i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and I'm in the hacking process atm. Seems to take quite some time so I will reply here later with my results.
My mom has to wear a mask to teach in this school year. I am thinking that this would be nice for her and other teachers. New market for ya. 😍 I may have to make a few.
I like your video. Found it very helpful. Now that is cold, I’ve been trying to find a way to combine a mask with something to cover my neck and head. I think if I make it longer, I might be able to pull it up on my head. At least, I’m going to try. Thank you for the video.
Thank you so much for the video, I don’t wear a mask if I can getaway with it. This is perfect for places I can’t go in without a mask, this is perfect!!
Glad you found something that will work for you! I've gotten to where I just automatically add a scarf-mask to my outfit anytime I'm leaving the house, even if I am sure I'm not making any stops where I'll need one. It's no fun realizing you have to make a quick errand and can't because you forgot to bring a mask.
Just now found your video and it's the video I have wanted ! Thank you for the measurements and I was wondering if the entire elastic could be encased throughout the top seam instead of just half of it?
I tried that in my first version of this design, and it just would not stay on my head the right way. It kept sliding up the back of my head and just felt really weird. Leaving the back half of the elastic out of the casing made all the difference.
Love your tutorial. Now that the weather is hot outside, I've been having a hard time wearing a face mask. I have a large family and elastics are hard to find right now, would it be possible to use shoe laces or other strings? Thank you.
A lot of people are having success using narrow strips of jersey knit. Maybe make long strings and tie in a bow at the back of the head? Another idea... Shoe laces type of cord with a cord lock at the back of the head so it can be tightened when wearing as a mask.
It might actually be a little thin but that's the trade off for something more breathable. You can always fold it in half so the fabric is doubled up and maybe even stick a piece of paper towel or coffee filter in between for even better filtering.
I have had people with knowledge on this subject tell me it will work, and others tell me it won't. If you can wear a thicker mask, that would definitely be the better choice. I only came up with this mask after visiting a few stores where everyone seemed to have the mask only covering their chins! My thought is that this is a better option than wearing a mask incorrectly, and a more breathable option for those who need it.

This makes me so happy to hear! I hope this works out for you and makes life a little easier. :)
I live in Arizona and we’re having triple digits the last few weeks. This is perfect! Thanks so much
Oh wow! Hope this helps!
Amazing video just the one I was looking for. Thank you.
Thank you!
This is great, I like to wear scarves anyway so this is great.

Yeah! I'm so happy you found something to meet your needs! Welcome to the world of sewing! It's a fun skill to have! :)
"Wing it and hope for the best" is me everytime I sew. 🤣
Sometimes that's just how you've gotta do it. ;)
Brilliant! I was planning on making a "breathable" mask for work. I think I can actually deal with this mask. I can't thank you enough.

Hope it works out for you! I've also made some recently out of cotton jersey knit, if you want something a little warmer/thicker.
God bless you for the very nice video
Thank you!

After watching your excellent video I'm thinking about pulling my sewing machine out of the closet and giving it a try!❤☺
Yes! Give it a go! :)

@@mrmrsdiy3610 Thanks. Your suggestions sounds great. I will give it a try. BTW: I made my first one and it turned out great! Thanks a bunch.
They have some at shein for $2
That looks so thin. Will that really protect you from microbes?

Where can I get this?
I'm not selling them, but if you follow the tutorial in this video you can make your own. Good luck!
