From an engineering viewpoint it was PAINFUL watching you do the initial cuts into the "cutting board" .... you should hold the item being sawn lower onto the vice ! and also closer to the jaws !!! ...... and ffs tighten the bolts holding your vice ! .... setting a poor example !
Still, It turns out a good bow who shots Very well. 😉
It does show that something can be made even when the tools are not perfect or even sound.
But I do agree that it is painful to watch and consider the wasted effort due to vibration etc.

Impressionante ter saído um arco de tábuas de carne. Ficou muito parecido com um arco Assyrian, primeira vez que vejo bowyer brazuca fazendo arco com tips mais pra siyahs, deveria considerar fazer uns modelos de arco asiáticos/horse bows e afins. Belo trabalho!

Not a job to be attempted by the amateur DIY man in his garage. This requires special, near professional skills! Only criticism: never wear a ring while manually working, even if it is your precious wedding ring

Impressive work. Very ingenious use of wood. Was the chopping board made from laminate bamboo bits? And what glue do you use? Thanks from the UK❤
Thanks! Yes, it was bamboo laminated cutting board. The glues that I used was cianoacrilate, pva white glue ( to glue the leather ) and epoxy resin to make micarta to reinforce the tips.

Good god. These are some seriously lo-fi construction techniques. I'd be interested in seeing you do it with only a pocket knife.
Come to think of it, the Mongols and the Lakota would probably regard this as magic. I do.
The music, though, would probably have registered as demon squall. As it does now. Not a fan. (I've been listening to Karnivool and Mozart's Requiem on repeat all day, so nothing sounds good).
On the whole, pretty impressive, worth a subscription. I retract the snark.
BTW, what was the material used for the nock reinforcement? It looked like plaster casting tape.
I would be interested in seeing the build of a Mongol bow. And you demonstrating it bareback on a small pony, no bridle, no nothing. I believe they could pierce the armor of a medieval European knight. Dunno how they did it.

Elison será possível fazer um mongol com madeira de ipê?
Depende o "mongol". Apesar de a gente conhecer como arco mongol, existe muitos modelos de arcos asiáticos.
Alguns até da pra fazer com ipê sim. Já fiz alguns com ipê e bambú.
Mas os com curvas mais agressivas, aí tem que ter material que aguentam mais compressão do que madeira. (Chifre ou fibra de vidro )

She opens the door with a big knife in her hands!!! But this is a really great way to make your own bow. Low cost, no expensive tools, no real complicated way to build. It looks great, ans as far as I can see it also shoots great!
It could be higher poundage too. I prefer make It between 30, 40 pounds, but nothing impels make it stronger.

My First bow was in 1992 or 93. I was 9 or 10 years old. I little time from there to here, and a Lot of Bows certain. 😉 You should see my other vídeos. ☺️

bro for the amount of time you spent hand sawing that board you could have worked half that time and bought a table saw.
I have a table saw and a good Band Saw and a bunch of other electric tools (you can see in my other vídeos). But the idea of this vídeo was to show How you can make a Nice bow without spend too much. With tools inclusive. 😉

The new bamboo laminates are so cheap and good quality I built a long bow from a floor board which was very effective. Hard to cut though tough on tools.
