    Beautiful bow. I really appreciate the silence being able to hear the tools and work. Too many utubers use unnecessary annoying music.

      Ah, since I'm deaf, I didn't appreciate the lack of accompanying music, but when I DO wear my hearing aids, I'd opine that it CAN be a real PITA.

    • @IndianaBows
      @IndianaBows  Год назад

      Not really. I don't like to use carbon in the belly ( the face that the archer see the bow when shots), because It's weak than Fiberglass in compression. If you can find, fiberglass Will Works well and durable. As much that carbon do and with low cost.

    great work,cant wait for the next video

    • @IndianaBows
      @IndianaBows  Год назад

      One thing I noticed, is that Araldite glue is a bit more thicker. So, the Smoth On spread a littke more easily.
      The Araldite delay a little more to cure too, if you use it in temperature below 25°C.
      But that was the only points that I could notice.
      About resistence, and transparence, I think that is the same thing.

    20:28 estou tentando construir um riser mas sou muito amador na Marcenaria e é difícil achar material. Nesse minuto que eu marquei, é possível ver que o descanso da flecha não é no centro do arco. Eu tava reparando que nas fotos de riser que peguei pra usar de modelo, o "shelf" não é no centro (verticalmente no centro). É assim mesmo?

    • @IndianaBows
      @IndianaBows  Год назад +1

      A passagem no centro da empunhadura ( ou um pouco mais além do centro) é mais comum em arcos recurvos. Em arcos longos ou híbridos a tendência é não chegar no centro. Até dá pra fazer indo até o centro, mas qualquer competição que vc venha a participar, o arco não será aceito como tradicional.

      I didn't pretend to cheat on you. Its just that english is not my birth language. I live in Brazil and speak Portuguese, so I can confuse one thing or two. 😅
      I did use alcohol at 25:50 of the video (Before I put my Brand coin).
      But at the end I sprayed polyuretane varnish ( the same kind that is used in autos). It's a bi-component varnish, and pretty easy to find. I already tried a Lot of brands and they Works well. This one that I used in this bow was semi-gloss.

    • @IndianaBows

      Obrigado! Não usei o mesmo pauzinho não. Se usar, vai estragar o pote de cola inteiro. O bambú usado é chapa de bambú laminado. Encontra em alguns lugares na internet. Apenas verniz PU no acabamento final.
      As madeiras que uso, ou as fibras, são sempre na cor original delas.

      Very nice...thank you. Can you share....what sort of bandsaw blade do you use to rough out the limbs and riser ? Does it last for more than one bow ?

      It's a regular, but not Very sharp, Blade.
      It not cuts well. But cuts. 😅

    That log you started with is probably worth more than my table saw, and I'm browsing the web looking for carbon/glass lamination guides to cut costs* lmao
    *I only make biolaminates and not only has horn been expensive before lockdowns, now it's twice the price (and tax, duty fees and "legally obtained" certificate we need for imports are calculated as % of the price...)

      Here in my channel there's a video in How I make my own carbon lams. Take a look. It may help you.

    @24:42 - I don't know, man, that bow's limbs still look very stiff almost everywhere except near the handle. I noticed the same at 19:20, and then you didn't narrow the limbs enough.

      @IndianaBows  Год назад

      It's a hybrid bow. Or a semi-recurve ( you can find the plan of It in bingham projects). And that's the actual design of It. Not a parabolic tiller like a flat or longbow.
