This was one of the most simple, helpful, and to the point tutorials I have ever used, took less than five minutes from taking the new key fob out of the Amazon box till it was programmed to my 03 Xterra. Tysm!
2003 Nissan Xterra, worked great. 3 Fobs. After the 1st one open and shut the door and hit second Fob then repeat that step for any others. Take out key and leave door open a minute to make sure sensor is off. Shut door and all Fobs should work just fine. Thanks for upload, you saved me a lot of money. Got 2 new Fobs for $8 on Ebay and the old one is a spare.
This was so helpful and worked for both of my replacement key fobs. I waited so long to get them because of how much it was going to cost to have a professional program them for me, thank goodness I found your video. Thank you!!!!
Worked perfectly to reprogram two original and one after market remotes on my 2001 Xterra after replacing a bad Smart Entrance control unit . THANKS.!!
The Nissan near me told me I’d have to make an appointment to leave my car with them for the day, then pay $150+ dollars for the service of connecting my remote to my car, something that takes less than 2 minutes. Appreciate you saving me that money
Great video. Thank you. I looked at a video on Amazon and it didn't finish the process. I thought my fob wasn't programmed but what that video didn't say was to unlock the door, open it, close it, then test the fob. I'm back in business thanks to you. Have a great afternoon. 🤜🏾🤛🏾
NICE!! Works as in the video for my 2009 Nissan Xterra!! Thank you!! Had to put the key in a few more times but I'm not complaining. I just bought mine used and it didn't come with fobs, I ordered the fobs the night I brought it home. 😂
I know Im asking the wrong place but does someone know of a tool to log back into an instagram account?? I was dumb lost the password. I would appreciate any assistance you can offer me
@Caspian Xander i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site through google and im in the hacking process now. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
After saying it didn't work - IT DOES WORK -- FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS ---- Problem for me was opening the door AFTER ALL ELSE WAS DONE--- WORKS LIKE A CHARM.

Same on my 2010 SE. The moment I pull the key the door unlocks. A dozen insertions, and the dash lights come in. Couple seconds later, the engine starts with no key in the ignition, but shuts down the minute I attempt to put it in drive.
Message to people with trouble: during step 4 (above) hazard lamps did NOT flash for me. After programming completion, none of my remotes worked, at least not right away. For me, trying to unlock/lock the doors using each remote (while inside the vehicle) SEVERAL TIMES, and maybe turning the key to/from ACC in between (I think, I tried multiple combinations...) worked. So it can be done, it's just the steps are not well understood.
Same on my 2010 Xterra. Doors unlock the moment I pull the key the first time. Tried pulling key in and out anyway. After about 29btimes, all the dash lights came on, and a couple of seconds later the engine started with no key in the ignition. Shut off it I tried to put it in drive.
Unfortunately there is no manual way to program an ignition key, you will need an automotive locksmith or dealership. You can find a locksmith in your area here www.LocateALocksmith.com/directory/
I follow the instructions and I do get the flashing lights but the remotes still dont work after I open the door. Any ideas? Also my original stopped working so now i have no key fob working. Please help
Question, do the side mirrors fold on the 2006 Nissan Xterra? I don't really know because my mirrors have the crease for rotating but I don't want to force anything without knowing first.
For anyone who needs it I was getting pretty angry (2012 xterra) I saw on a another website that some cars just need you pull out more times, mine was 15xs.
I've been trying the in and out step on my 2002 xterra and I'm having no luck. Door is locked from the button. In and out about 20 times. Tried rapid tried slow tried medium, lights just won't flash. Any tips?
Are you sure your Xterra has the factory remote option installed? If you are unsure - call a Nissan dealership with your VIN number and speak with their parts department. They can look up the original build sheet for the vehicle to see what options it has.
Hola Después de activar la alarma de mi xterra 2006 con mi control Después de 20 a 30 min no funciona el.control Tengo q usar la llave para abrir y después vuelve a funcionar el control
Hazard Lights flashed for key procedure, then for ACC procedure, but find didn’t work. Tried again and then couldn’t get hazards to flash for key procedure. Nothing works. Any suggestions?
On you first attempt there may have been an issue with the remote you are using? Some vehicles are more sensitive than others with the speed in which you do the steps in order to get the hazards to flash. If you are unsuccessful, remove the key and open and close the drivers door a couple of times to reset before trying again.
Program Your Remote Thank you. I retried several times. Even unhooked the battery to “clear” things out. Afterwards, I was able to get lights to flash at appropriate times again, but “no bueno” on working. Vehicle is obviously “sensing” the remote, just not fully responding/functioning.
I also had problems. After the "one" press to program the remote - the hazard lights did not flash. I tried again. But I did not give up. I read some more (in other words, some time when by) and I went out to the vehicle. This time I pressed the unlock/lock button on each remote several times, until I could hear a clicking noise in the dash and the remote started working. Very strange. Whew!

Try to push hold unlock button and then 3 times push the lock button and Release them together. And it gonna work.
It's actually 8 key entries for a 2010 xterra, I give you a like and partial credit!🤣
It takes AT LEAST 6 - some vehicles take as many as 10-12 times until the hazards flash
