Dude seriously. I watched this and thought Oh shit, I can just take it all out when I get all the bolts out he got. NOPE. There’s a bracket that holds the exhaust manifold to the FRAME that he failed to mention. Two hours later of trying to tear off the cylinder block, I finally watch a different video and the guy shows where that bolt is.
You will notice he doesn't hesitate when taking the engine apart. Like it's all second nature. Same way with the bolts. Where he lives he probably only sees a few makes of cars, probably mostly Toyotas. Do that for eight hours a day for like ten years and you would remember every bolt too.
nahh we just get used to it and also I usually keep the same bolts with those components where they were and if not Toyota usually have same length and thread bolts unlike European made.
Great video. I've replaced my buddies valve cover gasket as oil was getting into one of the spark plugs. Replaced that she the rings (all one piece) but oil still getting into the ignition/spark end of the spark plug. Just the one. So it's misfiring. What could be the cause? Valve guides? Failed piston ring on that one cylinder? Or head gasket on that outside valve? (Opposite end to chain)
Does his car also burn through a lot of oil? The valve seals are notorious for going out and my 2001 Corolla burns oil like a mf and soaks the spark plugs
i dont mean to be off topic but does anyone know a tool to log back into an Instagram account? I stupidly lost the account password. I would love any tricks you can offer me.
You can do it I used this video as a guide on my Pontiac vibe and I’m positive all of you can do it … I do recommend using different colored tapes though! and labeling each section to a color too, so the re install of everything isn’t a mind F*** lol
@@AlstooWasHere Well we got lucky and found out that it was just really old coolant. Replaced it and she's running smoothly again. No leaks into the new coolant.
Well... watching them remove the headbolts with an impact hurt my soul... this is why I prefer to work on my own car. Crap technicians doing crap work screw stuff up.
@@joshuataylor7673 nice, when I made that comment I was in the middle of a head gasket job on a 00’ Celica. Btw the Quinn torque wrenches are pretty awesome.
@@txxvictorious4120 from what I know it’s a costly mistake. Those bolts are super important and if they break inside or are overly tight or overly loose, it could cost you a new engine. You want to do it all by hand to untighten it then you can use power tools to quickly remove it.
How will the timing be affected if at all?
Good call on showing exhaust pipe bolts taken out
Good call showing plastic body panel off
Good call on anything else I missed

Nice sir
This guy must have photographic memory. I would not remember where each bolt goes.
I was thinking the same thing, I would never get it back together
I made this mistake lol
Added hours and hours to the rebuild

Screw it loosely back on where you found it, once you have removed whatever was connected
Battery still connected 😂🤦🏻♂️
why did he remove the motor mount?
Timing cover bolts are behind it, and you must remove the timing cover during this job.
thanks

@@vicodinsandwich326 valves definitely spent.
You are doing it wrong! There is a specific way to undo the bolts and also to torque them down?
It didnt need removal???
Ur mean came no.need removed
That's me in like 30 years.

Does not show or describe tool used to remove the head studs.
Well I came here hoping this would be something I could do, but I do not at all have the confidence to do this job. Shooooot ..
welcome to the celica life

螺絲也不用盒子裝起來隨便亂放
How do you keep trakck of all those different nuts and bolts?
Screw them back a few turns where the belong.. Makes re-assembling much easier
He don't have to remember anything, that's why he is recording the job 😂
can open but cant close it lol
