Whenever i think about great punisher storys i think about two authors (garth ennis and jason aaron) but only one artist.
Im gonna miss Steve Dillon.
Thanks for preacher, punisher, hellblazer, wolverine and much more. You can think whatever you want about his art style (i really like it) but you got to admit he had his very own style.

YES! I couldn't agree more about Garth Ennis. Just pick up the paperback of Puniser Max by him. It's brutal and the one true way to express the punisher's brutal antics

I feel like going into The Slavers, you need to be kinda prepared for it. Like, that is dark even by Punisher standards. I'm not sure I'd throw a new fan into that one right away without knowing what they're comfortable with pretty well. Very good story, though.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, you're the only person I've heard of that got Garth Ennis's nationality right, most people think he's British, but you got it right, he's an Irishman, and a credit to his country. Also, I would have put Punisher the Cell one shot in the number one spot, it's much better than The List and the Bulls eye comics.

I love this series! You should consider making it a bi-weekly series.
As for recommendations, I can think of a ton of them! All the major Netflix characters that you'd care to research, maybe a villain or two such as Magneto or even Doom himself, and of course we all want to see Green Arrow's Required Reading from you, his biggest fan.

Joel, the only Punisher I've read was that crossover with DD and Spider-Man a few years back, and even I'm like "course he wouldn't have shown that guy sympathy". Hell for all we know he probably thought he was "helping the best way he could", by putting him out of his misery.

One of my favorite Punisher stories is the graphic novel Return To Big Nothing. Punisher ends facing one of the soldiers from his platoon in Vietnam who is using his position in the military as a cover for his dealing in the drug trade. There are also a bunch of Cambodians the bad guy has brought over from his time in the military to help him.

Great video, it gave me an interest in the Punisher I've never had before. I'm going to have to renew my Marvel Unlimited account and catch up on these stories. Also, a Required Reading on the Defenders or Iron Fist would be great, since they are both getting a Netflix series.

Yep! Adding to that, there was also a storyline in War Journal called The Sicilian Saga which elaborates a little on his heritage, so it's definitely not a one-off detail.

The Circle of Blood mini introduced me to Frank. The Crep/Bully story was another favorite. Was never really into Ellis or Diilons art style so didn't get into those books.

I'm glad yo I'm glad you mentioned the "death" of Frank Castle with Daken, that was the first punisher comic I'd read at the age of 12. Since then I've been trying my best to collect all of punisher max in issue form. Also, what was your first introduction to the punisher?

Been reading the 2016 pg-13 punisher run, along side the new platoon Max mini that came out. I was happy to find issues 1-5 of the punisher max at fuck off comics and stuff. Good pick up. I try not to get volumes if I can get a tpb instead to load into a binder. I have a nice hunt in front of me, and it's good.
Random side note. I hate how C&S over prices 1st issues of new books that's been out for awhile. Had 5 Batman Beyonds at 8 a book, and how they over sell their normal books by an extra 50 to a dollar more on some. Local shops are better, but you have to bite the bullet if you want a giant bin or 3 to sift through for your comics. Ok I'm done.
