Most people don’t know this but punisher is a rip off of another character named Paul kersey from death wish. Who becomes vigilante after his wife is killed and his niece is gang raped and decides to kills thugs and drug dealers. Until he is forced out of the city. It has four movies a book that the movies are based off of and 2018 movie remake.
"Those who do evil to others - the killers and rapists - psychos and sadists - will come to know me well. Frank Castle is dead. Call me...The Punisher."
“I’ve got all the therapy you need right here, comedian”. Punisher said that to Joker before he was about to use his 45 caliber on the Joker’s face in Deadly Knights

+VariantComics I want to do a Minecraft superhero series and I don't have a name so can you help me please he wears a black and white type suit with a skeleton mask and he rides on a motorbike and has an electronic battle staff but the name needs to be child friendly
Some criminals deserve to have a round be put in between their eyes, but others deserve a chance for redemption. Frank Castle is the one who deals with those who do things that have them lose that chance for redemption.
This is always a thing about the Punisher that get's questioned: what crimes does he kill for? Are jaywalkers and litterbugs just shot up when he see's them doing their crime? Will he punish you if your caught 420 baking in your car? Does have a limit to targets like children? Well, here's my idea on what his code is but you have to remember that he will change based on writers. 1. Organized crime is Frank's main goal. Always was, always will. Super villains are just too big for him and he knows that but more important, his family was killed by a crime gang and he hunts them for this reason. If he learns where there base of operations, he goes and kills everyone there. If a small time member is not there when it gets shoot up, he can be given redemption. Maybe. 2. For random crimes like murders and stealing, that's done by sight: he sees you pull a gun out on someone and your dead. See's you stealing a purse and your dead. Key here is criminal intend. If someone pulls a gun out of self defense and kills there attacker, not a shit given by Castle. If a child steals a gum pack, no care in the world. He will try to stop them them in time but no killing. 3. Not a fuck given to jaywalkers, litterbugs, drug users, or prostitutes. To him, the first two are way too petty and the last two are already being punished for there acts or are doing them for there own good ie. getting out of poverty or getting relief. Drug dealers and pimps will be killed because they are causing harm to the users and the hoes. 4. Basically, anything that directly causes harm to someone is his beef. A crime that is petty like jaywalking, does self harm like drug use, or is just way too not evil like a white collar crime(insurance fraud, tax evasion, using insider information, or anything like that...but he will kill bankers and other business folk that know that there working for villains.) is not what he cares about. Done! Any questions? :)
xzavier rodriguez Your welcome! The Punisher is so god dam awesome and I love his character so much, so knowing him is going to be their but like I said, the writer creates the code. From the "Kills the Marvel Universe" version to the Garth Ennis run to the 80's beginning, his action's tell different tale but from the same angle. Ultimately, his character is the same to Batman or Spiderman: a man who had to witness the death of his love one's and the struggle that he had to go through to accept it, change it, respect it, or avenge it. The difference between Frank, Bruce, and Peter though is that of which there morals were taught and what age those morals were firmly in-placed. Batman received his trauma at a very young age and his parents were rich but kind and generous people who taught their son that happiness came from giving to others and that you should give back when someone or something gives something to you. Like a lot of child's, he created a alter ego of extreme skill and badassness to put himself into but instead of using it for play time or other such pursuits, he used it to pay respect to his parents and there message to him: pay back Gotham by fighting off crime. Spiderman saw Uncle Ben die from something that he could have stopped and the last words from Ben was the oh so famous quote "Great power = responsibility". Mixing his teenage smart mouth nature, his will to make sure that his power is used in a way that Ben would have wanted, his powers, and his smarts, Spiderman was born! The Punisher though is a hero born from the morals of a adult and a solider. He saw his whole family die when he was a full grown man and he had the mental ageing to know the full meaning and weight of that event. Batman = Child. Creates a perfect hero that every kid wants to be and acts like a child mourning the loss of their parent. Brooding, quite, depressed. Spiderman = Teen/ Young Adult. Smart mouth, always has to have the last line, must balance a lot of roles, and is idealistic. The Punisher = Adult. Cynical, serious, use's the most realistic method, guns. With that, I must say....I'm a huge nerd :P
The Punisher was always my favourite character. He is an elite soldier, a master of gunnery, an experienced hand to hand fighter, strategist and tactician... WITHOUT super powers!!! This is the reason I like this charakter.
Daniel527 no wonder my dad helped out seal team 3 a lot in the military, he fixed a lot of stuff and even had to hide in bushes for hours looking for any bad guys till a squad came
+Richard Miller It's been confirmed that Punisher is getting his own show. Personally, I liked how they combined his origin story into Daredevil season 2 which frees up his show from having to spend time on his past and just focus on his main villains instead. It's relevant to Daredevil since he's a lawyer, and someone like Punisher certainly would have an important court case with all of his killings and whatnot. Plus, I liked how they had Punisher interact with Kingpin, and Punisher still put up a good fight even with handcuffs on him.
DD season 2 was good but the Elektra story was so boring. She was the most uninteresting character and not like what i remembered from the comics. All I cared about was what Frank was getting up to with Karen and Foggy.
This guy was tough enough to take a super punch, close to Hulk's power by Molly aka Bruiser from the Runaways. He stood on to legs, after she punched him in the gut, breaking alot of organs in him, and he still stood...That guy is strong.
Number two: Frank castle is dead he died with his family, number three: the law is inadequate to shame it's inadequacy it is best to act outside the law to assume natural justice this is not vengeance revenge is not a valid motive it's an emotional response no not vengeance, punishment.
The Punisher has been and will always be my favorite comic book character of all time. So much so I’ve even went as far as starting a novel in a post-apocalyptic backdrop with a Punisher-inspired character as the central character. I say Punisher-inspired but he has many characteristics that sets him apart from Frank Castle. From his ethnicity to his military unit mentioned in some of his backstory. I’ve always liked the Punisher because he shows that you don’t need superpowers to give some of those criminals what they deserve.
Great video! The skull has been a symbol of fear used by the good guys going back to The Phantom. It was a popular motif in the golden age - Black Terror, Blazing Skull, the Destroyer- just name a few from that time. I also like the real world application of the Punisher Skull. A picture of Captain Marvel throwing a bomb like a football was adopted by a naval air unit in WWII, and of course, plenty of examples of Captain America's shield are present in unit artwork.
Seen a few people say Frank is a nazi and have to say this: He's not. He's a a representation of a fundamentally broken justice system and a cautionary tale of how much emotional pain a man can go through before he snaps and takes justice into his own hands. He doesn't want people to idolise him nor does he want to be a friend to police - he's said it in the season one of the show "I'm a reminder". He is there to remind criminals of what they have done and to remind civilians of what could happen to them if they cross a line without good reason (a comic from the 90's where he's driving a taxi trying to find a cereal killer is perfect to explain this). Please remember that when you feel like complaining about how he's bigoted.
Failed to mention what happened to Castle during his last days in Vietnam. The deal he made that made him "invincible", which also leads to his family's death.
Dark Reign and the Frankencastle arc are both worth checking out to see how the character fits into the larger marvel universe. Both also focus a lot on the interior thoughts of Frank and what makes him tick even as his situation goes from bad to worse.

+Zan Man which sucks. Cause BvS and SS looked so good a at first. But then the final trailer for SS came with queen in it and it killed my expectations
+Zan Man No Spoilers, but I heard the movie is actually pretty good compared to previous DC movies. And since I am a Superman and Batman fan I feel like I will still some what like the movie just because I am seeing them in a movie together.
As a Punisher fan for 30 plus years, I have to say I was skeptical about the "History" and if it would be told right. I have two long boxes of Punishers and a working Punisher sleeve on my left arm. What I find most surprising is there were actually two things brought up in this video that I didn't know. Things that are important to the origin so allow me take this opportunity to thank you for an amazing History.
VariantComics , pretty good. But when Arris Quinones said a dedicated Marine excelling as a soldier in every way is incorrect. As Marines we are not soldiers. He needs to say A Marine excelling as a Marine in every way.
Punisher War Journal was the 2nd unlimited series after the Zeck miniseries. The first unlimited, titled simply The Punisher ran for several issues before War Journal started it's run as a more expensive prestige comic, while The Punisher continued concurrently on cheap paper stock with a lower cover price. Both series ran together for years, but I'm pretty sure War Journal and War Zone were both canceled before the original series ended.
as much as i love the punisher & is my favorite by far.. they stole his story & likeness from "Don Pendleton's The Executioner" series from the late 60's & is still running today.. the likeness, back story & all that is the punisher.. came from ( Don Pendleton's "mack bolan The Executioner" except The Executioner does not have a skull on his chest! & again not taking anything away from the punisher series..but they can be twins.. mack bolan being the first born! but the executioner series being a great read, that spun off to other novels " stony man' able team' phoenix force.

Starting a fighting with tony.and people bitch about dc showing doomsday in trailer whereas cw trailer showed that spiderman is team tony , buckys arm is ripped off war machine dying etc
+Zan Man which sucks. Cause BvS and SS looked so good a at first. But then the final trailer for SS came with queen in it and it killed my expectations
+Aditya Vyas why don't you change your username to butthurt DC fan boy?
+Zan Man No Spoilers, but I heard the movie is actually pretty good compared to previous DC movies. And since I am a Superman and Batman fan I feel like I will still some what like the movie just because I am seeing them in a movie together.
Well done I recommend "first to last as well"
I love that T-shirt were did you get it?
I've seen it at my local Walmart
Before the video even starts I have to say that that shirt looks AWSOME Arries.
History Of Elektra
Both series ran together for years, but I'm pretty sure War Journal and War Zone were both canceled before the original series ended.
history of the Ghost Rider or of all the Ghost Riders, please!
thank you for this, i needed to know everything i was missing in my brain!!
Bang- Frank Castle 2016
Great job Arris. I was was hoping you would do a history of the Punisher.
History of the following please
Black Adam
Wildcat
Deadman
Blue Beatle
Nightcrawler
Gambit
Colossus
Sinestro
Batman Terry McGinus
Moon Knight
Punisher was also a very important role in the venom saga which i hope to see a live rendition of eventually :)
He kinda sounds like Batman, except without the money.
ikr
way better in my opinion
SchizophrenicAndroid Batman won't kill n u know that
SchizophrenicAndroid, and he threw the no kill rule into a meat grinder.
SchizophrenicAndroid Yeah but he kills people Batman doesn't
Since season 2 of Marvel's Daredevil is out ... please make a "History of Elektra" episode!
R.I.P. Stan Lee
I am a fan of The Punisher since 1989, after the movie.
The Punisher vs Deathstroke + Variant Comics
+VariantComics
Deathstroke would stomp since he's well into the superhuman category. Punisher would have to fight someone in his range
+Charles Tosti And don't forget Erris would flip out seeing comicbook characters come to life.
oh god deathstroke 1 shots
Finally!!! I've been waiting sooo long for this.
US Marines aren't soldiers. They're Marines. Great episode though.
Get over yourself.
I love this channel so much
Please do a history of Ghost Rider 💀
Arris, please can you put a link in each of your videos so we know where we can buy your tshirts or who they are made by!
as much as i love the punisher & is my favorite by far.. they stole his story & likeness from "Don Pendleton's The Executioner" series from the late 60's & is still running today.. the likeness, back story & all that is the punisher.. came from ( Don Pendleton's "mack bolan The Executioner" except The Executioner does not have a skull on his chest! & again not taking anything away from the punisher series..but they can be twins.. mack bolan being the first born! but the executioner series being a great read, that spun off to other novels " stony man' able team' phoenix force.
The Punisher is my fav. When I started to collect comics again I had to get his first mini
Who's more badass:
-Nick Fury
-Batman
-Captain America
-punisher
you decide
Nick fury, batman, cap, punisher
punisher
+Jackson Paul I don't think cap is badass
+Markus Wiedner i think of the change he went through as his scale, he was about a -5 to maybe a 6 technically thats 11 XD!
Batman
One of the baddest and most kick ass characters in comics... ever.
How about the History of Norman Osborn
I'd also recommend the first 25 or so issues of the very first Punisher book. His first war with the Kingpin is a really good read.
